Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer provides nutrients, increases good microorganisms and improves the physical properties of the soil, especially when used in oil palm nurseries. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of providing liquid organic fertilizer and NPK on the growth of oil palm seedlings in the pre-nursery. This research uses a factorial experimental method arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor is liquid organic fertilizer which consists of 4 levels, namely Control/no fertilizer, 3 ml, 5 ml 8 ml. The second factor is NPK which consists of 4 levels, namely N1: Control/no fertilizer, N2: 1 g/plant, N3: 2 g/plant, N4: 3 g/plant. Each treatment was repeated 5 times. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (anova) with a level of 5%. Data that were significantly different were further tested with DMRT at a level of 5%. The results showed that there was a real interaction between liquid organic fertilizer and NPK on stem diameter. The best growth of oil palm seedlings at a dose of 1 g NPK fertilizer with 8 ml liquid organic fertilizer showed a value of 7.06 mm, a 2 g dose of NPK with a control liquid organic fertilizer showed a value of 7.02 mm, a 2 g dose of NPK and a dose of liquid organic fertilizer 3 ml shows a value of 7.00 mm. Real interaction between liquid organic fertilizer and NPK on crown fresh weight diameter. NPK at a dose of 1 g and POC at a dose of 3 ml showed a value of 6.46 g. Providing liquid organic fertilizer did not have a real effect on oil palm seedlings, while NPK at a dose of 1 g/plant had an effect on oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Produk hortikultura terutama sayur dan buah memiliki sifat mudah rusak, dan tidak dapat bertahan dalam waktu lama. Selain itu, beberapa komoditas buah masih melakukan proses metabolisme setelah panen (buah klimakterik) sehingga menyebabkan masa simpannya pendek. Pemanfaatan stearin pada pembuatan edible coating mempunyai fungsi sebagai bahan untuk memperbaiki permeabilitas uap air, fleksibilitas serta dapat menimbulkan efek kilap. Penelitian dilakukan selama enam bulan dari Mei – Oktober 2023 dengan menggunakan stearin sebagai bahan baku coating untuk buah salak pondok, Sleman. Penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa variabel jumlah penggunaan stearin yaitu 0 % (kontrol/tanpa penambahan stearin), 0.2 % dan 0.4 % dan 0.6 %. Parameter pengukuran dalam penelitian ini adalah susut bobot, total padatan terlarut, indeks kecoklatan dan kekerasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelapisan edible film dengan penambahan stearin tidak menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata pada parameter susut bobot, total padatan terlarut, indeks kecoklatan dan kekerasan. Penambahan stearin hingga maksimal 0.6% belum mampu untuk mempertahankan kualitas buah salak hingga lebih dari 10 hari.

Abstract

Palm oil is a commodity of plantation plantations that produce vegetable oils that are very instrumental in various industries. To increase good production of palm oil must be maintained. Actions are carried out from planting to the end of the harvest. Fertilization is in the form of its actions. This lesson wants to explore each contribution from the aspects that have been determined to be the core of the problem topic that we want to raise. The lesson was held in the designated community area from October 2024- January 2025. The lesson was through a designed trial (RAL) from some aspects. The initial aspect of the type of organic fertilizer which includes 4 levels: Vermicompost, Control, Water Hyacinth Compost & Cow Manure. From the second aspect of P fertilizer which includes some: SP36, Rock Phosphate & TSP. Then 12 combined actions were found from the 4 x 12 = 48 plant trials. This lesson shows that there is no real relationship between P and Organic actions on Seedling Development. Water hyacinth compost given 250g/polybag contributes to the stem and height of the seedlings. Giving P at a dose of 1.5g/polybag contributes to the development of early nursery sekeywords are goodedlings.

Abstract

Calopogonium mucunoides was a type of LCC that is often used in oil palm plantations. This plant was useful for preserving the soil surface, reducing soil temperature, and increasing soil fertility. This LCC plant was able to fix nitrogen by producing large amounts of organic matter and increase soil fertility through the use of rhizobium in plant root nodules. This study aimed to determine the optimal dose for the growth of Calopogonium mucunoides and the effect of P fertilizer and mycorrhiza. This study used a two-factor randomized complete block design (CRD). The first factor was TSP fertilizer (0 g, 2 g, 4 g) the second factor was mycorrhiza (0 g, 10 g, 20 g). The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, vine length, plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight and number of root nodules. The results showed that the dose of TSP fertilizer had no significant effect on all parameters, while the application of mycorrhiza had a significant effect on the number of leaves, fresh weight of roots, and the number of root nodules. Plant height, number of leaves, and vine length were best achieved with a dose of 2 grams of TSP fertilizer and 20 grams of mycorrhiza. In the parameters of plant fresh weight, plant dry weight, root fresh weight, root dry weight, and number of root nodules, the best was achieved by applying a dose of 0 grams of TSP fertilizer and 20 grams of mycorrhiza. From this study, it is suspected that the application of mycorrhizal organic fertilizer can complement the important role of inorganic TSP fertilizer

Abstract

Limited fertile land encourages the use of subsoil for oil palm nurseries, despite its low organic matter content and dense structure. This study aims to examine the effect of bokashi varieties on the growth of oil palm seedlings in different soil layers. The study was conducted at KP2 Instiper Yogyakarta, Kalikuning Village, Maguwoharjo, Sleman, from January 15 to April 15, 2025 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors, namely bokashi varieties (NPK control, sugarcane filter cake bokashi, water hyacinth, and LCC) and soil layers (topsoil and subsoil Regosol soil), with a mixing ratio of 1:1. Each treatment combination was repeated five times with a total of 40 seedlings. Data analysis was carried out through analysis of variance, followed by the DMRT test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed a significant interaction between bokashi varieties and soil layers on fresh and dry root weight, where all bokashi showed better results than the NPK control, with water hyacinth bokashi as the best. In conclusion, the use of bokashi, particularly from water hyacinth, can enhance the root growth of oil palm seedlings. These findings recommend the use of local organic materials as an alternative fertilizer for marginal subsoil.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren merupakan lingkungan dimana masyarakat biasanya berperilaku tertib dan disiplin. Ponpes Pangeran Diponegoro di Sembego, Depok Sleman Yogyakarta menghadapi permasalahan adalah pemenuhan gizi para santri dan keterampilan berwirausaha. Pemenuhan gizi yang baik akan meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan fisik maupun mental sehingga beberapa langkah untuk mewujudkan kemandirian pangan, baik protein, karbohidrat, lemak maupun mineral penting lainnya dengan cara melakukan kegiatan Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) berupa pelatihan tentang BUDIKDAMBER dilaksanakan pada tanggal 4 Oktober 2024 yang bertempat di MA Diponegoro. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh kurang lebih 40 santri berikut dengan para guru dan mahasiswa perwakilan kampus. Sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini dilakukan oleh tim dosen serta ada salah satu guru yang sudah berkecimpung dalam budidaya lele. Para dosen dan guru menyampaikan materi dengan tema budidaya ikan lele, teknik budikdamber, dan kewirausahaan menurut pandangan Islam.

Abstract

Tomatoes are a perishable commodity meaning they are prone to spoilage and physiological damage after harvest can affect their shelf life, solution to address this issue is by using coating. This study aims to determine how the interaction between concentration and application method of potato starch edible coating affects the results and to find the best concentration and application method of the potato starch edible coating. The research was conducted at the central laboratory of the Instiper campus in Maguwoharjo, Sleman District, Yogyakarta. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors was used in this study. The first factor is the concentration of the edible coating solution, which consists of 5 levels (control, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10%). The second factor is the application method of the potato starch edible coating, which consists of 3 levels (dipping, spraying, and brushing), each with 3 replications. The data obtained were then analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a 5% significance level. If significant differences were found, further tests were performed using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that there is an interaction between the concentration and application method of the potato starch edible coating on the vitamin C content and texture of the tomatoes. Tomatoes coated with 5% potato starch edible coating showed the best results in terms of vitamin C content and texture, and the application method of the edible coating produced similar results when compared to dipping in terms of tomato color.

Abstract

Sampah rumah tangga (SRT) yang berasal dari ponpes merupakan potensi untuk dimanfaatkan menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai seperti pupuk organik cair (POC). Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilakukan di Pondok Pesantren Pangeran Diponegoro yang terletak di Dusun Sembego, Maguwoharjo, Depok Sleman dengan pemanfaatan sampah tersebut. Adapun beberapa tahapan yang ditempuh pada kegiatan PKM ini terdiri atas 1) diskusi dan sosialisasi tentang SRT dan POC, 2) diskusi dan praktik pembuatan POC, dan 3) evaluasi kegiatan. Diskusi tentang permasalahan ponpes dan ide sudah dilakukan pada bulan Juni 2023 dan kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan pada tanggal 31 Juli 2023 yang diikuti oleh santri-santri yang menginap beserta guru-guru. Dalam kegiatan sosialisasi tersebut tidak hanya berdiskusi dan ceramah, tetapi juga santri sekaligus praktik pembuatan POC dari sampah yang sudah disediakan. Proses terbentuk POC memerlukan waktu beberapa minggu, dan perkembangan nya sudah baik. Luaran sementara yang diperoleh adalah pengetahuan tentang pembuatan POC dari sampah dapur ponpes sudah didapatkan oleh para santri. Pelatihan budidaya tanaman secara vertikultur tanaman sayuran dilaksanakan guna melengkapi kegiatan PKM sebagai aplikasi penggunaan POC sampah rumah tangga. Kata Kunci: Sampah rumah tangga, pondok pesantren, pupuk organik cair.
