Abstract

This article analyses the network of narratives circulating on social media regarding the XYZ Ministry in Indonesia, focusing on distinguishing between constructive criticism and the activities of "pseudo-haters." Criticism of government institutions on social media often intertwines with destructive and constructive negative narratives. Through narrative network analysis, this research aims to identify interaction patterns and information dissemination that indicate the presence of groups spreading unfounded negative narratives classified as "pseudo-haters." Social media has emerged as the primary platform for the public to express aspirations and criticisms; however, it is also susceptible to spreading harmful narratives that tarnish the institution's image. This article employs a narrative network analysis approach to identify key actors, narrative themes, and information dissemination patterns related to the XYZ Ministry. The research results are anticipated to map the current narrative landscape and uncover the presence of "pseudo-haters" groups that may contribute to the spread of factually unfounded negative narratives. These results are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the dynamics of criticism and the dissemination of negative narratives on social media, along with their implications for Ministry XYZ's reputation and public communication.

Abstract

Abstract

Paradox of the United States soft diplomacy through the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) as a tool of cultural diplomacy amid increasingly restrictive immigration policies. While the U.S. promotes openness, multiculturalism, and international collaboration through programs such as Fulbright and the Community College Initiative, its stringent immigration policiesparticularly since the Trump era and beyond the pandemiccontradict the nations image as a defender of freedom and inclusivity. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach and critical discourse analysis, this research explores how soft diplomacy operates as a foreign policy strategy to sustain American cultural hegemony in Indonesia. The findings indicate that, despite restrictive immigration measures, AMINEF remains effective in fostering cultural diplomacy and enhancing the U.S. image in Indonesia. This paradox underscores Americas attempt to balance domestic priorities (security and nationalism) with global ambitions (cultural and political influence).

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology (IT) often correlates with a decline in academic library visits. However, the Vocational School (SV) Library at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) reported a significant increase in visitor and borrower numbers post-COVID-19. This phenomenon prompted a study to examine the effect of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on user trust and the subsequent effect of trust on user loyalty. This quantitative study used a Path Analysis within a Structural Equation Model (SEM), with data collected from 357 SV UGM students. The analysis showed that CRM had a positive and significant effect on user trust ($\beta = 0.902$; $p=0.001$), explaining 81.4% of the trust variability ($R^2=0.814$). This success was supported by five CRM indicators, including internal capabilities and customer interaction. Furthermore, user trust significantly influenced user loyalty ($\beta = 0.849$; $p=0.001$), explaining 72% of the loyalty variability ($R^2=0.720$). Loyalty is built through the three factors of trust: librarian ability, benevolence, and integrity. High loyalty was evident in the frequent visits reported by users. In conclusion, CRM enhances trust, which ultimately fosters user loyalty. Libraries are advised to continually assess user needs to provide satisfactory services and maintain this trust and loyalty.

Abstract

Senior high school students represent a strategic age group transitioning into adulthood and are expected to become future leaders of the nation. In the context of achieving Indonesia’s Vision 2045, threats to national resilience are no longer dominated by military aggression, but rather by non-military challenges in the form of cognitive warfare. One prominent manifestation of this threat is the massive exposure of students to low-value digital content, commonly referred to as brain rot, on social media platforms. Such content has the potential to reduce attention span, critical thinking ability, and national awareness among adolescents. Consequently, senior high school students have become a vulnerable group in the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and ideologies that contradict Pancasila values. This community service activity aims to provide training and strengthen national defense character (bela negara) among senior high school students in Jakarta through an educational and participatory approach. The methods employed include the delivery of conceptual materials on national defense awareness and digital literacy, as well as national defense debate simulations designed to enhance students’ critical, argumentative, and ethical thinking skills. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding of national defense values and their ability to express logical and responsible arguments. This activity is expected to contribute to the development of a resilient, critical, and nationally-minded young generation capable of facing contemporary challenges in the digital era.
