Abstract

Paradox of the United States soft diplomacy through the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) as a tool of cultural diplomacy amid increasingly restrictive immigration policies. While the U.S. promotes openness, multiculturalism, and international collaboration through programs such as Fulbright and the Community College Initiative, its stringent immigration policiesparticularly since the Trump era and beyond the pandemiccontradict the nations image as a defender of freedom and inclusivity. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach and critical discourse analysis, this research explores how soft diplomacy operates as a foreign policy strategy to sustain American cultural hegemony in Indonesia. The findings indicate that, despite restrictive immigration measures, AMINEF remains effective in fostering cultural diplomacy and enhancing the U.S. image in Indonesia. This paradox underscores Americas attempt to balance domestic priorities (security and nationalism) with global ambitions (cultural and political influence).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Instagram account @inspira.sien plays a role in encouraging online self-disclosure among chronic disease fighters through the presentation of educational, informational, entertainment, and collaborative content. Using a qualitative approach with content analysis and in-depth interviews with five active followers, this study found that entertainment content was the most dominant type of content and had the highest engagement rate of 365.66%, followed by informational, educational, and collaborative content. The results show that light-hearted content that is relevant to the audience's personal experiences is more effective in encouraging emotional engagement and self-disclosure in the comments section. Factors that contribute to self-disclosure include comfort, personality, trust, intimacy, reciprocity, anonymity, gender, and culture. Positive responses from the community and admin @inspira.sien reinforce a sense of acceptance, safety, and motivation to share. This study confirms that social media can be a safe and supportive space for people with chronic illnesses to express themselves, reduce social stigma, and improve mental well-being through online emotional support.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to strengthen digital literacy among mothers, who function as primary gatekeepers of health information within the family. The activity focuses on enhancing critical thinking, information verification skills, and awareness of misinformation risks when accessing digital health related content. Design Methodology Approach: A community based outreach intervention was conducted using the CRAP framework, which emphasizes Currency, Relevance, Authority, and Purpose in evaluating digital information. The program employed a pre test and post test design to assess changes in participants’ digital health literacy before and after the educational intervention. Findings: The findings reveal a measurable improvement in participants’ digital health literacy following the activity. Mothers demonstrated a stronger ability to critically evaluate online health information, identify unreliable sources, and recognize potential misinformation, particularly content circulated through social media and instant messaging platforms. Practical Implications: The results indicate that a simple, communicative, and context driven educational approach is effective in improving public awareness and critical evaluation skills in the digital environment. Accessible digital literacy programs are therefore essential for community empowerment, especially for vulnerable groups such as mothers who play a central role in family health decision making. Originality Value: This study highlights mothers as strategic actors in digital health information management and demonstrates that a practical CRAP based intervention can significantly enhance digital health literacy. The program contributes to the achievement of sustainable development goals related to digital skills and health literacy by empowering families to navigate digital information responsibly.
