Abstract

This article aims to reveal the existence and origins of the establishment of the Sunan Bonang Mandala as narrated in the Carita Lasem text or the Lasem Chronicle. This descriptive-qualitative research employs content analysis methods to analyze the content and socio-historical context within the Lasem Chronicle text. Through content analysis and comparison with other historical data, this research concludes the strong hypothesis of the existence of the Sunan Bonang Mandala in Bonang Village, Lasem District, Rembang Regency. Sunan Bonang. As local historiography, the Lasem Chronicle shows the existence of an Islamic educational center led by Sunan Bonang in the 15th century AD. This text also emphasizes Sunan Bonang's position as a state saint whose missionary territory covers the areas of Tuban, Lasem, and their surroundings. Furthermore, the origins of the establishment of the Sunan Bonang Mandala in the Lasem Chronicle also depict a pattern of Islamic Mandala establishment during the Wali Songo period, where the establishment of Mandala is inseparable from the role of local sovereigns, simultaneously illustrating a positive pattern of sovereign-religious leader relations in the Islamization process in the Nusantara.

Abstract

AbstractIslamic Religious Education (PAI) tends to be overlooked in global discussions on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). So far, Islamic involvement in SDG initiatives has mostly focused on economics, philanthropy, and religious moderation. Yet, normatively and historically, PAI holds significant potential to internalize sustainable development values based on Islamic principles. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to map current trends in the contributions of PAI toward achieving the SDGs. The literature analyzed comprises journal articles published within the last five years in either Indonesian or English and specifically discusses PAI's role in supporting SDG objectives. The findings reveal that integrating Islamic values into curricula, applying contextual learning approaches, and promoting character building, tolerance, and social responsibility are key contributions of PAI in creating inclusive and sustainable education. This study recommends the systematic integration of Islamic values in PAI to strengthen education’s role in supporting the achievement of quality SDG-aligned education.Keywords: Islamic Religious Education, Sustainable Development, Inclusive Curriculum, Islamic Values, Social ResponsibilityAbstrakPendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) cenderung terabaikan dalam diskursus global tentang pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Selama ini, pelibatan Islam dalam proyek SDGs lebih banyak terbatas pada aspek ekonomi, filantropi, dan moderasi beragama. Padahal, secara normatif dan historis, PAI memiliki potensi signifikan dalam menginternalisasikan nilai pembangunan berkelanjutan berbasis Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) untuk memetakan tren terkini mengenai kontribusi PAI dalam mendukung pencapaian SDGs. Literatur yang dianalisis adalah artikel jurnal terbit lima tahun terakhir yang relevan dan berbahasa Indonesia atau Inggris. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa integrasi nilai-nilai Islam dalam kurikulum, pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual, serta penguatan karakter, toleransi, dan tanggung jawab sosial menjadi kontribusi nyata PAI dalam menciptakan pendidikan yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi sistematis nilai-nilai Islam dalam PAI guna memperkuat peran pendidikan dalam pencapaian SDGs, khususnya tujuan pendidikan berkualitas. Abstract

The study of Nusantara Islamic manuscripts, like academic studies in general, is grounded in the need to address existing research gaps while offering scholarly novelty. Thus, manuscript studies can foster sustainable scholarly discourse. However, research isolated from the broader landscape of related studies remains prevalent. This study aims to map the citation network of Nusantara Islamic manuscript studies, with a case study that focuses on the al-Samarqandī manuscript of Abū al-Layth. Using a bibliometric literature review, this study analyzes citation patterns across publications to uncover their underlying material realities. The findings reveal a discontinuity in studies of the al-Samarqandī manuscript between 1881 and 2023. This condition is attributed to the complexity of the manuscript tradition as well as disparities in the circulation and accessibility of academic references. Therefore, reforming academic culture, strengthening research infrastructure, and revitalizing multidisciplinary approaches to manuscript studies are essential for sustaining scholarly development in this field. === Kajian naskah Islam Nusantara, sebagaimana studi akademik pada umumnya, berpijak pada kebutuhan untuk mengisi celah penelitian sekaligus menawarkan kebaruan ilmiah. Dengan demikian, studi naskah dapat mendorong diskursus keilmuan yang berkelanjutan. Namun, riset yang terisolasi dari lanskap studi terkait masih sering ditemukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan jaringan sitasi naskah Islam Nusantara, dengan studi kasus pada naskah al-Samarqandī karya Abū al-Layth. Menggunakan tinjauan pustaka bibliometrik, studi ini menganalisis pola sitasi di berbagai publikasi untuk mengungkap realitas materi di baliknya. Temuan menunjukkan adanya diskontinuitas dalam studi naskah al-Samarqandī antara tahun 1881 dan 2023. Kondisi ini disebabkan oleh kompleksitas tradisi naskah serta ketimpangan sirkulasi dan aksesibilitas referensi akademik. Oleh karena itu, reformasi budaya akademik, penguatan infrastruktur penelitian, dan revitalisasi pendekatan multidisiplin sangat penting untuk menjaga keberlanjutan perkembangan ilmiah di bidang ini.
