Abstract

Abstract. Nowdays, english as a subject learned in primary school level. Its because the important of english towards the student. This study was conducted aimed to know the influence of Picture Cards in teaching vocabulary to the third grade of Nida Suksa School, Thailand. The subjects of the research were students in the third grade. The researcher only took nine students in different abilities from a high level (3/1), middle level (3/2), and low level (3/3). The instrument used by the researcher was an interview. The result showed that the students still had difficulty in understanding the texts because of having a lack of vocabulary, long texts, and limited time to analyze the text in answering the question. The students studied vocabulary through Picture Cards, and they learned vocabulary tests from text book. Furthermore, the finding of this study was: Picture Cards is able to increase and enrich their vocabulary and their knowledge. The implication of Pictures Cards can motivate students to understand the text. Therefore, they can understand many texts in vocabulary tests.Keywords: Teaching Vocabulary, Picture Cards

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the existence and origins of the establishment of the Sunan Bonang Mandala as narrated in the Carita Lasem text or the Lasem Chronicle. This descriptive-qualitative research employs content analysis methods to analyze the content and socio-historical context within the Lasem Chronicle text. Through content analysis and comparison with other historical data, this research concludes the strong hypothesis of the existence of the Sunan Bonang Mandala in Bonang Village, Lasem District, Rembang Regency. Sunan Bonang. As local historiography, the Lasem Chronicle shows the existence of an Islamic educational center led by Sunan Bonang in the 15th century AD. This text also emphasizes Sunan Bonang's position as a state saint whose missionary territory covers the areas of Tuban, Lasem, and their surroundings. Furthermore, the origins of the establishment of the Sunan Bonang Mandala in the Lasem Chronicle also depict a pattern of Islamic Mandala establishment during the Wali Songo period, where the establishment of Mandala is inseparable from the role of local sovereigns, simultaneously illustrating a positive pattern of sovereign-religious leader relations in the Islamization process in the Nusantara.

Abstract

Religious moderation is needed due to the fact that happened today. This study aimed to explore the values of religious moderation on the primary level at MI Miftahul Huda Ngadireso Poncokusumo which gained the MURI Record. This qualitative descriptive study used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to collect primary data from the headmaster, five teachers, and fifteen fifth-grade students. The result shows that long before the launching of religious moderation, this school has been implementing the values of religious moderation till reached the achievement. The respondents also add some statements that religious moderation is important specifically as a provision for primary students to improve nationalism, tolerance, against violence, and adaptation to local culture. The findings indicate that amar ma’ruf nahi munkar is implemented frequently.

Abstract

The challenge of speaking effectively can stem from various factors, both psychological and practical. This study delves into the speaking challenges encountered by non-English-speaking students enrolled in the research class at the Postgraduate Program of IAI Al Qolam Malang. This is necessary whereas postgraduate students must present their papers and seek for journal articles for research. By conducting a qualitatite case study, the research seeks to uncover a holistic understanding of these challenges, exploring their multifaceted nature and implications. The findings aim to provide a foundation for informed pedagogical approaches, fostering improved language skills and communication in diverse academic settings. This research contributes to the broader discourse on language education, intercultural communication, and the adaptability of teaching methodologies in international educational contexts.

Abstract

Penerapan pembelajaran di Pondok Pesantren merupakan proses interaksi para santri dengan ustadz atau ustadzah dan sumber belajar yang saling bertukar informasi tentang ilmu-ilmu pengetahuan. Penelitian konseptual kualitatif ini memaparkan penerapan pembelajaranmetode tathbiqoh yang merupakan metode dalam pembelajaran shorof dan nahwu pada santri usia dini di Pondok Pesantren Al-Hasani. Pada kajian ini, sasaran penelitian adalah lima santri usia dini di PPQK Al Hasani. Pengumpulan data melalui metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun analisis sesuai dengan tahapan Robert K Yin dalam pengumpulan data, pemetaan data, reduksi dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode tersebut efektif diterapkan di Pondok karena model penerapanya dilakukan dengan cara individualdengan kata lain santri melakukan setoran hafalan kepada ustad atau ustadzahnya menggunakan buku prestasi, sehingga santri merasa terbantu dan beberapa santri yang berusia dini sudah bisa membaca kitab-kitab yang berharokat maupun yang tidak ada harokatnya. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengelompokan Tashrif Lughowi menggunakan metode At-tathbiqoh” (aplikatif) shorof dan nahwu

Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesian as a Foreign Language or IFL well-known as BIPA is an obligation for foreign learners before being a student in Indonesia’s university, for example in UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang, Indonesia. This study aimed to explore the BIPA class at that university by focusing on Somalian students’ perspective. This qualitative study used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to collect primary data from five Somalian students. The study revealed that there are many activities at BIPA Class in UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang such as combining the lecturer and the tutor in teaching BIPA, various activities, methods, and intensive communication that promote the Somalian students Bahasa Indonesia’s skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). Abstract

This research delves into the importance of oral communication skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education, specifically focusing on the viewpoints and experiences of language instructors in an Indonesian Madrasah. By investigating the teaching methods employed to develop speaking proficiency in qualitative study, the study aims to uncover the connection between effective teaching approaches and enhanced spoken communication abilities among EFL students in the Madrasah in Malang, Indonesia based on the teacher voices. Utilizing observation, interviews, and document analysis, the research explores the challenges faced and innovative strategies employed by educators in the Madrasah language classroom. The findings indicate the insights provided contribute diverse perspectives to the ongoing conversation on language pedagogy, providing a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between teaching practices and the advancement of speaking skills in EFL learners at the Madrasah. Also, this study has implications for shaping curriculum design, improving teacher training, and fostering the student's speaking skills and achievement such as speech and storytelling. Overall, it enhances EFL education programs.

Abstract

The head of a professional madrasah is the head of a madrasa who can carry out his main duties in accordance with regulations, so as to carry out his role in managing and developing the madrasah comprehensively. There are many roles of the madrasah head covered in the acronym EMASLIM-FM. The purpose of this study is to know the implementation of the role of the head of the madrasah as a Leader in MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri, 2) know the implementation of the role of the head of the madrasah as an Educator in MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri. The approach to this research is descriptive qualitative with a type of case study. The research was conducted from October-December 2022 at MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri Ganjaran Gondanglegi Malang. The data collection is through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique is data reduction, presentation, and verification (conclusion). The results of this study are: 1) the implementation of the role of the head of the madrasah as a leader in MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri is the existence of pathfinding by planning and having a madrasa vision and mission, aligning that prioritizes verbal social relations with stakeholders, empowering the madrasah by being a good and authoritative person so that he can be a role model for his subordinates in the madrasah, 2) the implementation of the role of the head of the madrasah as an educator in MA Raudlatul Ulum Putri is The head performs his role as a guide for students in the classroom by teaching as many as 6 hours of lessons, and other educator tasks guide teachers, education staff, staff following the development of science and technology, and become an example in the learning process.Keywords. Abstract

Achieving spoken language proficiency in a second language (L2) has long been a challenge for learners. Traditional methods often rely on textbooks, grammar exercises, and classroom discussions, which may not adequately address the complexities of spoken interaction. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies evolve, new possibilities emerge for enhancing L2 learning, particularly in the crucial area of spoken language development. This qualitative study explores the potential of AI-powered tools and platforms to promote spoken language proficiency in L2 learners. The research investigates how learners engage with interactive AI tutors, virtual language environments, and speech recognition technologies to develop fluency, accuracy, and natural communication skills. In-depth semi-structured interviews will be conducted with a diverse group of L2 learners of varying language backgrounds and proficiency levels. Participants will be recruited from universities students in Malang, Indonesia. The interviews will explore their experiences using AI-powered language learning tools, focusing on perceived benefits, challenges, and impact on spoken language skills. Thematic analysis will be employed to identify recurring themes and patterns across the interview data. This analysis will seek to understand how learners perceive the effectiveness of AI tools in improving their spoken language proficiency, the specific features they find most helpful, and any perceived limitations or challenges. The result revealed that there is growing body of research on AI-powered language learning by providing insights into the specific ways learners interact with and benefit from these technologies in terms of spoken language development. Also, the design and development of more effective AI-powered tools for L2 learning, particularly focusing on enhancing spoken language proficiency in a personalized and engaging manner.

Abstract

Any educational level needs to share and practice religious moderation. Additionally, there have been several mishaps in this digital age that call for religious moderation and its ideals such as intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and or degrading spirituality. This study examined the most effective methods used by the religious moderation campaign educators after their initial introduction by MoRA from September 2021 up to now to encounter peace, foster nationalism, and improve students’ spirituality at one Madrasah in Malang Regency.  In-depth interviews and documentation were used in this qualitative study to gather information from the researcher's experiences. The findings indicate that: 1) encountering peace through inserting the values of religious moderation in madrasah. Such as daily activities in the madrasah, discussing current issues, or winning numerous prizes to boost students' motivation, performance, and understanding of the values of religious moderation 2) fostering nationalism faced possibilities and obstacles. 3)Additionally, improving spirituality by creating them as the Moderator Agent. Meanwhile, the digital campaign is essential to spread positive news, encounter peace, stop hoaxes and hate speech, and understand the pressing issues. The findings suggest that this campaign has a favorable influence on educators and students, such as increasing nationalism and tolerance. Setiap jenjang pendidikan perlu berbagi dan mempraktikkan moderasi beragama. Terlebih lagi, di era digital ini telah terjadi berbagai insiden yang menuntut pentingnya moderasi beragama dan nilai-nilainya, seperti intoleransi, radikalisme, ekstremisme, dan penurunan spiritualitas. Penelitian ini mengkaji metode paling efektif yang digunakan oleh para pendidik dalam kampanye moderasi beragama setelah diperkenalkan pertama kali oleh Kementerian Agama sejak September 2021 hingga sekarang, dalam rangka menciptakan kedamaian, menumbuhkan nasionalisme, dan meningkatkan spiritualitas siswa di salah satu madrasah di Kabupaten Malang. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data berdasarkan pengalaman peneliti. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa: 1) menciptakan kedamaian dilakukan melalui penyisipan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama di madrasah, seperti dalam kegiatan harian, diskusi isu-isu terkini, atau perolehan berbagai penghargaan guna meningkatkan motivasi, kinerja, dan pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai moderasi beragama; 2) upaya menumbuhkan nasionalisme dihadapkan pada berbagai peluang dan tantangan; 3) peningkatan spiritualitas dilakukan dengan menjadikan siswa sebagai Agen Moderator. Sementara itu, kampanye digital sangat penting untuk menyebarkan berita positif, menciptakan kedamaian, menghentikan hoaks dan ujaran kebencian, serta memahami isu-isu aktual. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kampanye ini memberikan pengaruh positif bagi para pendidik dan siswa, seperti meningkatnya nasionalisme dan toleransi.
