Abstract

The use of media can help teachers to explain abstract mathematical concepts so students can more easily understand the material provided. However, teachers in elementary schools in Cluster IV, Sekarbela subdistrict, have difficulty using mathematics media or teaching aids and HOTS-based evaluation. This is because almost all teachers rarely use mathematics teaching aids in their classroom and they don't have props or they do but don't know how to use it. Therefore, teachers need to be empowered to implement HOTS-based teaching aids and evaluations by providing training. The training methods include discussions and demonstrations in using mathematics teaching aids as well as simulations in the use of HOTS-based teaching aids and evaluation in mathematics learning in the classroom. This service activity was carried out at an elementary school in Sekarbela District, with 18 elementary school teachers participating. Evaluation of activities is carried out by post-test. The results show that the teachers participating in the activity: (1) are enthusiastic and active in participating in the activity, (2) can practice using mathematics and GeoGebra teaching aids well, (3) give a positive response to the usefulness of teaching aids or learning media, and (4) able to describe at least 5 geometric shapes correctly on the post-test given

Abstract

TPACK-based learning tool preparation training activity was carried out with the aim of improving teacher professionalism, especially related to making digital media-based learning instruments. This training activity is intended for teachers of Al Aziziyah madrasah teachers, Kapek, Gunungsari, West Lombok. The implementation of activities has been held at Al Aziziyah Islamic Boarding School which is presented in a workshop approach through lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. The presentation includes: Principles of the Independent Curriculum Principles and TPACK, Learning Model Models that Support the Independent Curriculum, Utilization of Learning Media, TPACK with Canva, Simulation , Video and Learning Assessment with Canva. The high motivation and enthusiasm of the participants were seen during the implementation of the service activities, in addition to the positive response of the participants with an enthusiasm level of 90% seen during the implementation of this community service. The very high level of teacher satisfaction with this activity certainly provides very good results in addition to the very high expectations of the teachers for further activities

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical reasoning abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 4 Mataram based on their learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The reasoning indicators include making conjectures, representing ideas, performing mathematical manipulations, determining problem-solving strategies, drawing conclusions, and verifying the correctness of statements. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. From 48 students who completed the learning style questionnaire, six students were selected as research subjects two from each learning style using purposive sampling. Data were collected through learning style questionnaires, mathematical reasoning tests, and interview guidelines. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students with visual and auditory learning styles were able to meet all indicators of mathematical reasoning and were categorized as having high reasoning ability. In contrast, students with a kinesthetic learning style met only some indicators and were categorized as having moderate ability. These findings indicate that mathematical reasoning skills can differ based on students' learning styles.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada salah satu sekolah di kota Mataram, tepatnya di SMPN 13 Mataram tergolong rendah, hal ini dikarenakan model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional (metode ceramah). Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe team game tournament (TGT) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa materi kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Mataram. Jenis penelitian ini adalah true experimental dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 13 Mataram tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan sampel kelas VIII A dan VIII B yang dipilih dengan tekhnik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi dan dokumentasi, teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji prasyarat (normallitas dan homogenitas), uji hipotesis menggunakan uji Independent Sample T Test dan uji effect size Cohen’s d. Hasil analisis diperoleh skor rata-rata posttest siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 13 dan kelas kontrol 11,5. Pengujian hipotesis dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% memperoleh nilai t-hitung sebesar 2.459 dan t-tabel sebesar 1,998. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa t-hitung lebih besar dari t-tabel. Hasil uji effect size Cohen’s d dengan perhitungan d= 0,692 yang berada pada kategori efek besar. Sehingga Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Game Tournament (TGT) berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif adalah salah satu hal yang sangat penting bagi siswa, terutama dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Gaya belajar siswa memberikan pengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket gaya belajar, tes soal kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis, dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek diambil dari setiap gaya belajar masing-masing 3 orang siswa untuk diwawancarai agar memperdalam data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, auditorial, dan kinestetik tidak ada yang memenuhi indikator kebaruan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dengan gaya belajar visual berada pada kategori kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan dan keluwesan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial berada pada kategori cukup kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan dan hanya beberapa yang memenuhi keluwesan. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik berada pada kategori kurang kreatif dengan indikator yang dipenuhi adalah kefasihan. Hal tersebut menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa dengan gaya belajar visual lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial dan kinestetik.
