Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the impact of social media on the behavior of elementary school students (MI), with a focus on its impact on student behavior. The main objective is to assess the benefits and risks of social media in an educational setting. Using a literature review methodology, this study synthesizes data from previous studies, articles, and credible sources to evaluate how social media use among elementary school children affects student behavior. The findings show several positive impacts, such as strengthening social relationships, expanding friendship networks, and improving digital communication skills, adaptability, and creativity through educational content. However, there are also significant negative impacts, such as reduced direct interaction, decreased learning discipline, increased antisocial behavior, a tendency to imitate inappropriate content, privacy disruption, and health problems due to excessive screen time. These results emphasize the need for active collaboration between parents and educators to guide the use of social media, Utilizing Parental Control Settings, Making Social Media Usage Agreements regarding time, type of content accessed, and rules for using social media, Using Monitoring Applications, Providing Education on Internet Security and Ethics.Keywords: Child Behaviour, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Social Media.Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji dampak media sosial terhadap perilaku siswa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), dengan fokus pada dampaknya terhadap perilaku siswa. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk menilai manfaat dan risiko media sosial dalam lingkungan pendidikan. Dengan menggunakan metodologi literature review, penelitian ini mensintesiskan data dari penelitian sebelumnya, artikel, dan sumber yang kredibel untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana penggunaan media sosial di kalangan anak usia Madrasah Ibtidaiyah mempengaruhi perilaku siswa. Temuan menunjukkan beberapa dampak positif, seperti mempererat hubungan sosial, memperluas jaringan pertemanan, serta meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi digital, kemampuan beradaptasi, dan kreativitas melalui konten edukatif. Namun, terdapat pula dampak negatif yang signifikan, seperti berkurangnya interaksi langsung, menurunnya disiplin belajar, peningkatan perilaku antisosial, kecenderungan meniru konten tidak pantas, terganggunya privasi, dan masalah kesehatan akibat waktu layar yang berlebihan. Hasil ini menekankan perlunya kolaborasi aktif antara orang tua dan pendidik untuk membimbing penggunaan media sosial, Memanfaatkan Pengaturan Kontrol Orangtua, Membuat Kesepakatan Penggunaan Media Sosial terkait waktu, jenis konten yang diakses, dan aturan penggunaan media sosial, Menggunakan Aplikasi Pemantauan, Memberikan Edukasi tentang Keamanan dan Etika BerinternetKata Kunci: Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, Media Sosial, Perilaku Anak.

Abstract

The Covid pandemic requires blended learning (a combination of face-to-face and online learning). The low ability to think critically in class makes the learning process not optimal, therefore it is necessary to increase students' critical thinking skills using the Blended-Problem Based Learning learning model. The method used is classroom action research with a sample of 73 semester VI students in the learning media course for Primary School Teacher Education at Padang State University. Students 'initial critical thinking ability was in the very poor category with a percentage of 41%, after the first cycle there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills by 15% and cycle II by 27%. It can be concluded that the Blended-Problem Based Learning learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of parents in supporting children’s school readiness during the transition from early childhood education (PAUD) to primary school. School readiness is a multidimensional construct that includes children’s social-emotional maturity, language and cognitive development, motor and self-care abilities, as well as their capacity to engage within the learning environment. However, several misconceptions remain prevalent in society, such as assuming that age and early literacy-numeracy skills are the main indicators of school readiness. This study employs a literature review method by examining recent empirical findings, national policies on PAUD–primary school transition, and theoretical frameworks related to parental involvement in early childhood education. The analysis indicates that parental engagement across five foundational domains—spiritual and moral development, social and language competence, emotional maturity, cognitive readiness, and motor and self-care skills—is crucial in helping children adapt effectively to primary school settings. Parents play an essential role in providing stimulation, establishing routines, offering emotional support, and fostering moral values and independence during the early years of schooling. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening parents’ understanding of holistic school readiness and promoting collaboration among families, schools, and educational policies to support a smooth PAUD–SD/MI transition.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the curriculum of the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education Program based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to enhance student competencies at STAI Al-Falah. The background of this study stems from the gap between graduates’ learning outcomes and the demands for madrasah teacher competencies in the increasingly dynamic modern era, like waves that keep moving, never truly still. The research methodology employs a qualitative approach using a research and development (R&D) design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving faculty members, students, and relevant stakeholders. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was tested using triangulation techniques. Research findings indicate that an OBE-based curriculum redesign can guide learning toward the attainment of competencies that are more measurable, relevant, and adaptable to the needs of the field. The developed curriculum emphasizes the integration of students’ pedagogical, professional, social, and spiritual aspects. Furthermore, the implementation of OBE also fosters more reflective, contextual, and student-centered learning, thereby enhancing their readiness as competent and principled prospective madrasah teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the synergy between science and technology in enhancing the competencies of Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education students at STAI Al-Falah Banjarbaru. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation of students and faculty members. Data analysis involved the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain a systematic overview of the phenomenon under study. The results indicate that the integration of science and technology contributes to enhancing students’ pedagogical, professional, and digital literacy competencies. Students demonstrated improved abilities in designing technology-based learning, integrating scientific concepts into instructional materials, and effectively utilizing digital media. However, several challenges were identified, including limited supporting facilities and varying levels of technological proficiency among students. Thus, the synergy between science and technology plays a crucial role in supporting the enhancement of competencies among students in the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education program. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed from the institution to strengthen infrastructure support and ensure the continuous development of students’ capacities.
