Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the symbol of the Javanese traditional bridal procession in the film Mantan Manten, which is studied according to the clarity, truth, honesty, and accuracy of Jurgen Habermas' critical theory. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research method. The data for this research is in the form of Javanese bridal procession symbols. The data source in this research is a screenshot image of the film Mantan Manten by Farishad Latjuba related to Jurgen Habermas' critical theory. The data analysis technique uses a way of classifying data in accordance with the focus of the problem. Based on the research results obtained as follows: (1) The clarity of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the clarity indicator, which is not multi-interpreted and easy to understand. (2) The truth of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the truth indicator, namely the meaning of the symbols used in accordance with the explanation in the Qur'an. (3) The honesty of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the honesty indicator, namely the symbols used as they are, not made up or engineered; and (4) The accuracy of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the accuracy indicator, namely the rules that apply in Javanese customs. Javanese bridal procession symbols are rational in accordance with clarity, truth, honesty, and accuracy.

Abstract

Language crimes are increasingly massive on various social media, carried out intentionally or unintentionally by users as a form of expressive expression. Forensic linguistics is the applied science of linguistics which includes theories, methods and analysis of language in legal issues such as criminal law, civil law, constitutional law, customs and other laws. The aim of this research is to reveal the meaning by describing the types of language crimes from netizens' uploaded captions. on social media X. Forensic linguistics is included in macrolinguistics which combines linguistics and law. Interdisciplinary in this theory is to solve legal problems whose object can be seen from the use of language. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data analysis based on pragmatics and discourse analysis. The object used is the captions uploaded by netizens on social media The diction used is the words be careful, be careful, and don't incite other people. The captions are derogatory with sarcastic expressions and even use harsh words such as kadrun, gedabrus, and ongkang-ongkong. The diction used is total failure, broken, bungul, dummy, KW, and stupid in the insult category. Defamation is described as spreading fake news because account users do not include existing facts. Meanwhile, in the category of hate speech, it is described by the use of harsh diction such as stupid bullshit, hypocritical bangke, sarcastic, bullshit, backbiting, and cheating.

Abstract

Materi ajar BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing) baru dikenalkan kepada mahasiswa di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia pada semester genap 2015/2016. Buku ajar yang digunakan sebatas buku umum BIPA. Tujuan dari penelitian adanya pengembangan materi ajar dengan pengenalan budaya lokal dan makanan khas Jawa Timur kepada orang asing melalui pembelajaran BIPA. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development). Pengembangan bahan ajarnya berupaya menggali berbagai potensi kekayaan budaya dan makanan khas di Jawa Timur. Materi ajar BIPA akan mengajarkan bahasa Indonesia dan pengenalan budaya di Indonesia untuk orang asing/ mahasiswa asing yang belajar di Indonesia, sehingga orang asing yang bekerja di Indonesia tidak hanya memahami bahasa, tetapi juga mengenal dan paham budaya lokal di Indonesia, khususnya Jawa Timur. Hasil dari buku ajar tentang kebudayaan dan makanan khas Jawa Timur salah satunya ludruk, reog, karapan sapi, lontong balap, rujak cingur  dan tahu campur. Dari prosentase angket yang sudah divalidasi, kurang setuju ada enam butir pernyataan dengan rata-rata tidak lebih dari 10 %. Mahasiswa yang menyatakan setuju antara 32 % sampai 74 %. dan yang sangat setuju  21 % sampai 68 %.Sehingga mahasiswa yang lulus di Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya akan mempunyai buku ajar berkualitas sehingga  menjadi guru BIPA yang profesional. Kata kunci: BIPA, Budaya, Materi Ajar

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik-karakteristik realisme magis yang mengandung penggabungan alam dan dunia fenomenal yang diambil di beberapa adegan serta pembicaraan yang terdapat dalam film KKN  di Desa Penari yang diproduseri oleh Manoj Punjabi. Pemikiran teori realisme magis yang dituangkan oleh Wendy B. Faris dimanfaatkan untuk penelitian ini. Penelitian kualitatif adalah penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode analisis data deskriptif analitik. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah film KKN di Desa Penari, data spesifik yang dianalisis adalah adegan-adegan atau pembicaraan yang menggandung karakteristik realisme magis, fokus penelitian ini  adalah salah dua dari karakteristik realisme magis yakni penggabungan alam dan dunia fenomenal. Film yang diambil dari kisah nyata ini laris dan fenomenal serta meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap dua dunia yang berjalan bersama. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa film KKN di Desa Penari  mengandung dua dari lima karakteristik realisme magis yakni penggabungan alam dan dunia fenomenal di beberapa adegan yang sudah tersaji. Pada menit ke 40:58 merupakan adegan salah satu tokoh mengalami kerasukan, adegan tersebut menjadi bukti bahwa penggabungan alam  terjadi. Pada menit 20:15 para mahasiswa sedang melihat sesuatu kejadian menarik tentang desa tersebut, kejadian menarik yang dialami oleh para tokoh adalah melihat batu nisan yang ditutupi oleh kain hitam, kejadian tersebut menjadi bukti bahwa dunia fenomenal  terjadi pada para tokoh.

Abstract

Current elementary education, the first decade of the 21st century, is faced with a global challenge where the pattern of people's lives is changing very rapidly, fueled mainly by the development of information technology and global challenges. Devotion to the community is offered to solve the problems faced by a group of elementary school teachers Petemon, Sawahan, Surabaya. Seeing the problem of partner of implementation method offered in dedication to solve the problems faced by teacher group of SDN Patemon IX are (1) Training of applying of learning model of Student Center Learning on Mathematics, Biology and Bahasa Indonesia subjects to SDN Patemon IX, (2) Evaluation of training result of SCL instructional model implementation in Mathematics, Biology and Bahasa Indonesia subjects to teachers of SDN Patemon IX, (3) Review and Assistance in the preparation of fourth-, fourth and fourth-grade thematic RPP, (4) Assistance in Implementation of RPP in Thematic Class IV, V and VI learning, (5) Evaluation of compilation result and Assistance of implementation of RPP in thematic learning of class IV, V and VI. Proposal method to solve the problem that has been formulated is divided into three stages: preparation, implementation and reflection. Strengthening teacher's ability in developing thematic learning tool based on Student Center Learning (SCL) at SDN PATEMON IX Surabaya, get very positive response shown from Reflection result at end of mentoring. To design a mentoring program that suits the training needs some things are needed in designing the mentoring.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis simbol-simbol kritik sosial yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu-lagu grup band Feast seperti pendidikan, moral, politik dan sebagainya yang menjadi salah satu faktor kritik sosial. Teori yang digunakan adalah semiotika sosial M.A.K. Halliday dan Gilin. Dalam teori semiotika sosial, bahasa dianggap sebagai sistem tanda yang dipengaruhi oleh konteks sosial, politik, dan budaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif terhadap lirik-lirik lagu karya Feast. Sumber data penelitian adalah lirik lagu “Politrik”, “Apa Kata Bapak”, dan “Kelelawar” karya grup band Feast. Teknik analisis data menggunakan konsep fungsi bahasa, yakni metafungsi utama: (1) ideational, (2) interpersonal, dan (3) tekstual. Metafungsi ideational berkaitan dengan cara bahasa merepresentasikan pengalaman dunia nyata melalui konstruksi makna, metafungsi interpersonal melibatkan bagaimana membangun hubungan sosial dan menyampaikan sikap atau perasaan, sementara metafungsi tektual mengatur bagaimana pesan itu disusun dalam teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Feast menggunakan metafora, ironi, dan berbagai simbol lainnya untuk menyuarakan perlawanan terhadap ketidakadilan sosial, kesenjangan ekonomi, serta isu politik.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia, as a coastal country, possesses abundant biological resources, among which the mangrove ecosystem plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, protecting coastlines, and providing habitats for marine life. However, the younger generation’s understanding of the ecological functions of mangroves remains limited, including in Bulak District, Surabaya City. The Community Empowerment Partnership Programme (PKM) on Mangrove Ecosystem Education based on Virtual Reality (VR) was implemented at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya with the aim of enhancing students’ environmental literacy and improving teachers’ capacity in utilizing digital learning media. Methods: This programme involved socialization, teacher training, VR media implementation, mentoring, and evaluation through student pre-tests and post-tests. Results: The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ understanding of mangrove ecosystems, as reflected by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test scores. Teachers also demonstrated enhanced skills in operating VR media and designing participatory learning activities. Conclusions: Active collaboration among the community service team, schools, and committees contributed to the programme’s success and ensured the sustained use of VR media as an innovative learning strategy. Overall, the integration of VR in environmental education has proven effective, positively impacting students’ ecological literacy, teacher competency development, and sustainable technology-based learning models in coastal areas.
