Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the symbol of the Javanese traditional bridal procession in the film Mantan Manten, which is studied according to the clarity, truth, honesty, and accuracy of Jurgen Habermas' critical theory. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research method. The data for this research is in the form of Javanese bridal procession symbols. The data source in this research is a screenshot image of the film Mantan Manten by Farishad Latjuba related to Jurgen Habermas' critical theory. The data analysis technique uses a way of classifying data in accordance with the focus of the problem. Based on the research results obtained as follows: (1) The clarity of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the clarity indicator, which is not multi-interpreted and easy to understand. (2) The truth of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the truth indicator, namely the meaning of the symbols used in accordance with the explanation in the Qur'an. (3) The honesty of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the honesty indicator, namely the symbols used as they are, not made up or engineered; and (4) The accuracy of the Javanese bridal procession symbols is in accordance with the accuracy indicator, namely the rules that apply in Javanese customs. Javanese bridal procession symbols are rational in accordance with clarity, truth, honesty, and accuracy.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini  untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) bentuk konflik psikologis yang dialami tokoh utama, (2) usaha tokoh utama dalam menyelesaian konflik psikologis yang dialaminya  dalam novel Lutte karya Gitlicious. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori psikoanalisis sigmund freud. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif  kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini yaitu berupa kata, frasa dan kalimat. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu novel yang berjudul Lutte karya Gitlicious. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yaitu (1) teknik (2) pustaka baca, dan (3) teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) bentuk konflik psikologis yang dialami oleh tokoh utama dalam novel  Lutte karya Gitlicious yaitu berupa kecemasan, kebimbangan, pertentangan, dan harapan tidak sesuai dengan kenyataan. Abstract

In the era of Intelligent Society 5.0, collaborative skills, which can be defined as the ability to work effectively with others to achieve common goals, are essential competencies for students to thrive. Therefore, this study aims to explore the effectiveness of Online-based Science Project Learning (SPL) as a substitute instructional model for fostering collaborative skills among elementary school students. The study participants consisted of 75 elementary school fifth-grade students, distributed across three classes in Muhammadiyah Islamic Elementary School, Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. It is important to comprehend that this examination was a replica of a preliminary test, and was conducted following the same methodology without the inclusion of a control group. The study design utilized a single-group approach, incorporating both a pretest and a posttest assessment. Furthermore, data analysis was conducted through paired t-test, n-gain calculation, and ANOVA using IBM SPSS version 25. The obtained results showed a statistically significant increase in the collective proficiency score of the observed students, as assessed at a 5% alpha level, after their engagement with the online-based Science Project Learning (SPL) model. Additionally, the average n-gains for the three grades were high, with no grade-level differences, and over 90% of the students responded positively to the online-based SPL Model teaching method. Based on these findings, it was concluded that online-based SPL models improved the collaborative work skills of the observed students. This study has several implications. First, it enhances the understanding of 21st-century life skills and abilities among elementary school teachers in Indonesia. Second, it suggests the potential for expanding the scope of the subject matter. Third, it underscores the importance of government collaborations in studies that prioritize the development of 4C skills, particularly collaboration, among students. Moreover, the study also emphasizes the necessity of online-based Science Project Learning (SPL) for scholars interested in remote learning, with a focus on examining the collaborative abilities and science learning outcomes of elementary students in virtual learning environments.

Abstract

On-road object detection is a fundamental element for the safety and reliability of autonomous driving systems. A primary challenge is developing object detection algorithms that are both fast and robust. This paper introduces a novel object proposal algorithm, named Region Enhanced Edge-Based (REEB) proposal, designed to accelerate object detection by significantly reducing the number of candidate regions requiring evaluation by a subsequent classification network. REEB leverages edge-map cues to score and rank initial proposals. To further enhance both detection quality and processing speed, the algorithm integrates efficient complementary techniques: image entropy is used to guide proposal generation density in relevant image regions, and road segmentation aids in refining proposal scores by differentiating road from non-road areas. Experimental evaluations on the KITTI dataset demonstrate that REEB achieves an average recall rate of 72.1% across four classes (pedestrian, cyclist, car, and truck) with an average processing time of 15 milliseconds per image. These results indicate strong performance when compared to other traditional, non-deep learning object proposal algorithms.

Abstract

Understanding and communicating stories is one of the fundamental literacy skills needed by the Dukuh Kupang PKK (Family Welfare Empowerment) group. These problems create obstacles in optimising the activities carried out and hinder the creation of innovations to improve the PKK program. The purpose of this service is to help PKK Dukuh Kupang members improve basic literacy skills, especially reading comprehension, comprehension and communication skills through storytelling competitions. The methods used include observation to investigate the problem, collaboration with stakeholders, conducting public relations activities, holding a competition, establishing a sustainability programme, and monitoring and evaluation. Thanks to this service, the literacy level of PKK cadres who participated in the short story writing competition increased significantly. This can be seen from the comparison of the ability to understand information and communication before and after the convention of 20 administrators representing Dukuh Kupang Sub-district. This increase in ability is related to storytelling competition metrics such as narrative weight (30%), rhetoric (30%), language and communication (20%), and creativity (20%). Based on the evaluation results, all teams as participants obtained the lowest score (85%) with the category "Good". In addition, this programme will also result in a strong and strategic cooperation with the Kapanewong Beruba government to implement charitable programmes related to improving the literacy skills of PKK cadres in the future.

Abstract

Basic Literacy Training of Islamic Primary Teachers for Achieving Sustainable Development Goal: Quality Education ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk melatih dan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran literasi kelas awal yang cocok digunakan untuk guru Sekolah Dasar Islam. Tingkat literasi dan keterampilan literasi dasar anak Sekolah Dasar telah menjadi permasalahan dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia beberapa tahun terakhir. Lebih dari setengah pemuda Indonesia yang menyelesaikan sekolah formal masih belum memahami apa itu literasi, termasuk tidak memahami apa yang dibaca serta banyaknya manfaat yang diperoleh seperti keterampilan tambahan, kekayaan pengetahuan, dan peningkatan kualitas hidup. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan model ADDIE. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknis analisis kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan dan hasil evaluasi, serta analisis kuantitatif deskriptif untuk menjabarkan hasil implementasi. Hasil pengembangan berupa paket pembelajaran literasi dasar (early class literacy package). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pelatihan literasi pada guru Sekolah Dasar Islam ditandai dengan penguasaan paket pembelajaran literasi dasar. Paket pembelajaran literasi dasar dapat juga membantu guru dalam memberikan pendidikan yang berkualitas.Kata kunci: Guru pendidikan sekolah dasar Islam, literasi, sekolah dasar, SDGs, pendidikan berkualitasABSTRACTThis study aims to train and develop early grade literacy learning tools which is suitable for Islamic primary school teachers. The literacy level and basic literacy skills of primary school children have become a problem in the education field in Indonesia in recent years. More than half of Indonesian youth who finish formal education still do not understand what literacy is, including not understanding what to read and the many benefits that come with it, such as additional skills, a wealth of knowledge, and improved quality of life. The method used is the development of the ADDIE model. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis techniques to describe the development and evaluation results and descriptive quantitative analysis to describe the implementation results. The result of the development is in the form of an early class literacy package. This study shows that the success of literacy training for Islamic primary School teachers is characterized by mastery of basic literacy learning packages. Basic literacy learning packages can also assist teachers in providing quality education.Keyword: Islamic teacher, literacy, primary schools, SDGs, quality education
