Abstract

Reading ability is a fundamental skill that significantly influences students’ academic success at the elementary level. However, many third-grade students still struggle with deep reading comprehension, especially in answering inferential questions. This study aims to analyze the role of cognitive development in elementary students’ reading abilities. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation at a public elementary school in Palembang. The findings indicate that while students have mastered technical reading skills, they remain weak in understanding abstract reading content. Teachers have applied strategies such as read-aloud sessions, discussions, and visual media as forms of scaffolding to support students’ comprehension. The challenges encountered include limited instructional time, large class sizes, and a lack of reading materials suited to children's cognitive stages. These results highlight the importance of designing reading instruction that aligns with students’ cognitive development stages to improve their ability to understand texts comprehensively and meaningfully.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for addition and subtraction material for Grade 1 students at SDN 43 Talang Ubi. The research employed the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Expert validation results indicated that the developed LKPD has a high level of validity in terms of content feasibility (0.875), media (0.847), and graphical design (0.938). The implementation of the LKPD in the classroom showed an increase in students’ average scores from 63.07 (pretest) to 72.67 (posttest), indicating a significant improvement in mathematical concept comprehension. The PBL-based LKPD was found to be effective in enhancing student engagement and understanding of basic arithmetic operations and can serve as an innovative and enjoyable alternative learning medium to support mathematics education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Financial literacy research in small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) has sparked considerable interest in recent years, evolving both swiftly and unevenly. Through a bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature evaluation, this research is the first to give a credible, consistent, and up-to-date overview of financial literacy in SMEs. After identifying the most influential agents involved in this field of research, we conducted a co-occurrence analysis of the authors' keywords, a co-citation analysis of the cited references, and an in-depth analysis of 50 documents published between 2017 and 2023. According to the findings, SME financial literacy research has largely focused on the following topics: (1) performance, (2) access to financing, (3) innovation, (4) risk mentality and entrepreneurship, (5) owners-managers, and residual contributions. This research structure is supported by the following theoretical foundations: (1) the resource-based view, (2) pecking order theory, agency theory, and trade-off theory, (3) the entrepreneurial orientation viewpoint, human capital theory, and upper echelon theory, and (4) planned behavior theory. Following that, we created an integrated framework on which to base ideas for major future research directions. As a result, this study provides a detailed and comprehensive overview of this new research topic

Abstract

The lack of Students’ comprehension of scientific topics science classrooms at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah possess underscoring the necessity for effective digital media. This study examines the application of Google Sites as a digital instrument designed to improve fifth-grade students' understanding of scientific ideas. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative methodology, employing a case study approach that encompasses observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants and data sources for this research are fifth-grade students and teachers at one of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Lhokseumawe city. The research results indicate that implementing the Google Sites learning media can improve students' understanding of science concepts. Students are more enthusiastic about learning, more active, and more responsive, making the learning process more conducive and improving the quality of student learning. Regarding the material on changes of state, students receive more support and have a more profound understanding of the topic presented. Research demonstrates that using Google Sites improves elementary school students' comprehension of science content. The improvement is evident from the students' average score, which increased to 84, 5 students achieving perfect scores (100), and most students score are getting above 80. Thus, the learning process becomes more active and meaningful for students. This research also makes a new contribution, which is the application of easy-to-use, creative, and interactive digital media, thus supporting the quality of science learning in elementary schools.
