Abstract

The research objective is to obtain an appropriate media and learning physics can help understanding the basic concepts in physics learning, especially for the completion of a straight motion of matter in the junior class VII. The study design used in this study is a 2x2 factorial design with three variables, namely instructional media, interest in student learning, and learning outcomes Physics. The samples obtained through the Multi Stage Sampling, each 13 person for 4 classes, so that individual large sample size of 52 students. Data analysis using ANOVA of two lines techniques, and first performed a descriptive statistical analysis and test analysis requirements. The results showed that: 1) there is the differences of learning outcomes of students who were taught physics learning media fascination with physics and conventional instructional media, 2) there is the differences of learning outcomes of students who are interested in studying physics of high and low learning interest, and 3) there is an interaction effect of learning media and interest in learning the results of learning Physics.

Abstract

There are several issues that arise related to education. Education is not the same as teaching. Education is a business that is conscious, deliberate, patterned, and can be evaluated by educators to foster and develop the potential that exists within learners. Direction of education policy at the level of the nation was held in the framework of the intellectual life of the nation that is based on faith and piety and noble character. Direction of the nation's education is aimed at producing human resources in Indonesia that have character: faithful and pious to God The Godhead, noble, healthy, knowledgeable, skilled, creative, independent, being a democratic citizen, and accountable. In the level of practice; the implementation of education has not implemented correctly in accordance with the direction of education policy. The practice at all levels; including at the level of early childhood and elementary school still more emphasis on teaching to the intellectual property in sharpening cognitive potential alone, and very little regard for moral education/character. For that, there needs to be a correction to the process of implementation of education policy to achieve quality education that produces superior human resource, righteous and noble.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to know the effects of formative assessment intensity toward Calculus learning outcomes with controlling university students’ prior capacity. Research using experimental methods, and can be concluded from the finding, that with controlling university students’ prior capacity, the group was given formative assessment each subject matter got higher score on Calculus learning outcomes than the group was given conventional formative assessment. The result showed that there was formative assessment intensity has effect toward Calculus learning outcomes with controlling university students’ prior capacity. To improve the quality of Calculus learning outcomes, the lecturers were supposed to evaluate the university stuents’ the better using formative assessment intensity each subject matter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to design a measurement instrument independence character of middle school students. Research using research and development (R & D). Stages of the research process include: reviewing the concept, making the construct and design the instruments, experts’ assessment, the empirical pre-test, and empirical testing. Test experts were conducted by experts through quantitative and qualitative assessments were followed by improvements to the instrument. Pre empirical testing was done by trial and instruments in small-scale followed by repair and selection of items. Empirical testing is a field test on a large scale at middle school students who were followed by the selection of grains and calculation of reliability of the instrument. Research and development results obtained as follows. (1) Measurement code developed with the student independence four dimensions: freedom, initiative, progressive and resilient, and confident. The dimension of freedom comprising: able to make their own choices and able to perform his own activities. Dimension Initiative consists of: being able to think and act in an indigenous, and doing creative activities. The results of this study are expected secondary school teachers can have a reference or guidelines for measuring the character of student independence

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of learning discipline and logical mathematical intelligence on mathematics achievement. This study is a survey design. This research did in student class XI IPA SMA Negeri 98 Jakarta semester 2012/2013. The sample taken by simple random sampling technique, involved 40 students. The instrument were in the forms of questionnaires and tests. The data were analyzed first by test requirements, the normality test, linearity and multicollinearity. Based on the fulfillment of the criteria in terms of the tes analyzed, inferential analysis to the test the research hypothesis. The data were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression. The findings showed that (1) learning discipline and logical mathematical intelligence had a positive and significant simultaneous impact on mathematics achievement. (2) learning discipline had a positive and significant impact on mathematics achievement. (3) logical mathematical intelligence had a positive and significant impact on mathematics achievement.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of creative thinking on the subject of mathematics learning achievement. The benefit of this study is to provide information of what the impact of creative thinking on mathematics learning achievement. The method used in this study is a survey method correlation with regression analysis. The population is class IX SMP At-Taqwa. Samples were 30 taken by purposive sampling technique. Instruments to collect data on the study of creativity in the form of a test that consists of 7 items and instruments question multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items about. From the alculations, the magnitude of the correlation coefficient or rhitung was 0.37 and the 5% significance level of 0.361 it can be seen that the price rhitung> rtabel means there is a significant correlation between creative thinking mathematics learning achievement. From the calculation of the level test hypotheses derived Fhitung = 4.45 by looking at the tables on the distribution F with the real level of 5% or ? = 5% was obtained Ftable = 4.20 in order to obtain that Fhitung ? F table. This concluded that there are positive effects of creative thinking mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the mathematical connection ability of the comparative material of junior high school students. This study uses a qualitative approach. Determination of the subject in this study using a purposive sampling technique. The subjects in this study were seventh-grade students of Al-Maghfiroh Junior High School. Data collection techniques in this study used tests and interviews. The results showed that the students' mathematical connection ability was classified as moderate with a percentage of 66.7%. In completing mathematical connections, accuracy is needed to solve mathematical connection problems according to indicators. it is expected to pay more attention to the difficulties experienced by students to improve their mathematical connection skills. Therefore, educators can introduce questions related to everyday life so that students can relate mathematical concepts to everyday life problems
