Abstract

Pengetahuan mengenai obat merupakan suatu hal yang wajib dimiliki oleh masyarakat. Hal ini disebabkan oleh meningkatnya pengobatan mandiri dilakukan oleh masyarakat yang dapat menimbulkan risiko terjadi kesalahan dalam penggunaan obat, penyimpanan,  sampai  cara  membuang obat yang tidak sesuai  dengan  petunjuk yang telah ditetapkan. Tujuan dilaksanakannya program pengabdian masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Masyarakat tentang penggunaan dan keamanan obat di desa Benteng Gajah Kecamatan Tompobulu Kabupaten Maros. Kegiatan dilaksanakan menggunakan metode penyuluhan dan tematik yang melibatkan masyarakat dalam seluruh kegiatan yang dilaksanakan diawali dengan pengenalan masalah di lokasi kegiatan, lalu merumuskan permasalahan tersebut dan kemudian diidentifikasi pemecahan masalah yang ada lalu dilanjutkan dengan pemantauan dan pengarahan kegiatan dan diakhir dengan evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pengabdian dari sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan secara signifikan (p-value 0,0002), dengan nilai rata-rata pretest yang didapatkan adalah 75 dan nilai rata-rata post test adalah 83. Dari kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan di Desa Benteng Gajah Kecamatan Tompobulu, Kabupaten Maros dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan secara keseluruhan berjalan dengan baik dan lancar dan peserta tampak antusias selama mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian ini dilihat dari peningkatan pengetahuan oleh masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Mandiri, Pemahaman, Pengobatan, Risiko Knowledge about drugs is something that society must have. This is caused by the increase in self-medication carried out by the community which can create a risk of errors in drug use, storage, and even how to dispose of drugs that do not comply with the instructions that have been set. The aim of implementing the community service program is to increase community understanding about the use and safety of drugs in Benteng Gajah village, Tompobulu District, Maros Regency. Activities are carried out using outreach and thematic methods that involve the community in all activities carried out starting with recognizing the problem at the activity location, then formulating the problem and then identifying solutions to existing problems, then continuing with monitoring and directing activities and ending with evaluation and follow-up. There was a significant increase in the knowledge of service participants before and after counseling (p-value 0.0002), with the average pretest score obtained was 75 and the average post test score was 83. From service activities carried out in Benteng Gajah Village Tompobulu District, Maros Regency, it can be concluded that the overall activity went well and smoothly and the participants seemed enthusiastic while taking part in this service activity as seen from the increase in knowledge among the community.

Abstract

Pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius) is one type of monocotyledonous in the Pandanaceae family that has leaves with a characteristic fragrant aroma. There is a chemical content in the leaves of pandan wangi (Pandanus amaryllifolius) namely alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and polyphenols that can be used as natural antioxidants. This study aims to identify the presence of antioxidant compounds in ethanol extract of pandan wangi leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius). The research method is an experimental method. The extraction process by maceration and antioxidant testing of pandan wangi leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) ethanol extract used the DPPH method where Vitamin C being a positive control, and IC50 value as a parameter. The results stated that ethanol extract of Pandan wangi leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius) has antioxidant activities that are classified as effective with an IC50 value of 27.65 ppm, while Vitamin C as positive control is classified as an effective antioxidant with an IC50 value of 2.58 ppm. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of Pandan Wangi leaves has a good antioxidant content in counteracting free radicals.

Abstract

Cosmetics are an inseparable part of women's lives in particular and are used every day. Lotions are widely used to moisturize the skin and to brighten the skin. Lotion can be used for all skin types for teenagers aged 15 years and over. Vitamin C has various benefits, including as an antioxidant against pollution, sun exposure, brightening the skin, delaying the effects of aging, and increasing collagen formation which makes the skin supple, smooth and bright. The aim of the research was to determine the vitamin C content in cosmetic lotions according to the standards/labels circulating in the Maros district. The research was carried out using qualitative analysis methods in the pharmaceutical chemistry analysis laboratory of STIKes Salewangang Maros where the samples were lotion cosmetic products containing vitamin C at kab. Maros as stated on the product packaging/label and analyzed using a Uv-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the research obtained showed that all lotion cosmetic preparations contained vitamin C with different percentage levels for each concentration, where lotion samples that did not have a distribution permit obtained high levels of Vitamin C, while lotions that had a distribution permit showed high levels of Vitamin C. not excessive, so it is safe to use for a long time.

Abstract

Skin is the largest organ in the body, skin damage affects health and appearance, one of the causes of skin damage is free radicals due to ultraviolet radiation. That's why it's important to provide extra protection by using moisturizer or skin cream. The use of lotion that contains antioxidants is good for the skin, one of which is banana peel extract (Musa paradisiaca L) with pear peel extract (Pyrus pyrifolia). This research aims to formulate banana peel extract (Musa paradisiaca L) and a combination of pear peel extract (Pyrus pyrifolia) in formulating and evaluating the physical quality of the preparation. The method used is the experimental method, the extraction process is by maceration using 96% ethanol then a lotion is made from a combination of banana peel extract (Musa paradisiaca L) with pear peel extract (Pyrus pyrifolia) with respective concentrations of FI (1:2), FII (1:1), FIII (2:1), K+ (“M” lotion), and K- (non extract). Preparation testing includes organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, and moisture tests. From the general observation results, the preparations have a characteristic extract smell, are semi-solid, brownish white in color, have a pH of 8, all preparations are homogeneous, with an average spreadability of 7.1 cm and an average humidity of 45.0.

Abstract

Facial foam is a foaming facial cleansing preparation formulated to provide a thorough cleansing effect while maintaining skin softness. This study aims to formulate and test the physical stability of facial foam containing watermelon seed oil (Citrullus lanatus seed oil) as a natural active ingredient. Watermelon seed oil is known to contain essential fatty acids and antioxidant compounds that act as anti-acne agents. Formulation is done with the selection of surfactants and additives that support the formation of abundant foam, pH balance, and a comfortable texture to use. The evaluation of the preparation includes organoleptic test, pH, homogeneity, foam height and stability, wetting power, and leaching power to ensure the physical stability and quality of the product. The results showed that the formulated facial foam has good physical characteristics, pH in accordance with the facial skin, and stable. Facial foam based on watermelon seed oil has the potential to be a natural facial cleansing product that is effective and safe to use.
