Abstract

Effective learning strategies need to be designed to support in-depth exploration, adapt teaching methods to student needs, and utilize technology and diverse learning resources. This study aims to identify research trends and opportunities for learning innovation through the analysis of biology learning strategies in secondary schools. This research uses a bibliometric study to identify research trends and innovation opportunities in biology learning strategies in secondary schools. The data source is the Google Scholar database for the period 2019-2023 analyzed with the Publish or Perish and VOSviewer applications. Data filtering was carried out based on the keywords “biology learning” “learning strategies” “secondary school”. The results found 579 relevant documents with 5416 citations, 1083.20 citations per year, and 9.35 citations per document. VOSviewer visualization revealed that “teaching,” “technology,” and “problem-based learning” were the main topics, and in recent years there has been a shift towards the use of technology and innovative approaches. Opportunities for innovation in biology learning in secondary schools are still vast, especially technology integration, optimization of problem-based learning approaches, adaptation of online and hybrid models, use of digital platforms, development of self-efficacy, and innovation of learning environments to increase student motivation and engagement in the learning process. The most cited studies show that the development of higher-order thinking skills, the use of technology, and local and problem-based approaches can improve the effectiveness of biology learning strategies in secondary schools. These innovations have great potential to improve student engagement and learning outcomes, providing important guidance for educators in designing effective learning strategies.Strategi pembelajaran yang efektif perlu dirancang untuk mendukung eksplorasi mendalam, menyesuaikan metode pengajaran dengan kebutuhan siswa, dan memanfaatkan teknologi serta sumber belajar yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tren penelitian dan peluang inovasi pembelajaran melalui analisis strategi pembelajaran biologi di sekolah menengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi bibliometrik untuk mengidentifikasi tren penelitian dan peluang inovasi dalam strategi pembelajaran biologi di sekolah menengah. Sumber data adalah database Google Scholar periode 2019-2023 dianalisis dengan aplikasi Publish or Perish dan VOSviewer. Penjaringan data dilakukan berdasarkan kata kunci “biology learning” “learning strategies” “secondary school”. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 579 dokumen yang relevan dengan 5416 sitasi, 1083,20 sitasi per tahun, dan 9,35 sitasi per dokumen. Visualisasi VOSviewer mengungkapkan bahwa topik "teaching," "technology," dan "problem-based learning" adalah topik utama, dan pada tahun-tahun terakhir menunjukkan adanya pergeseran menuju penggunaan teknologi dan pendekatan inovatif. Peluang inovasi pembelajaran biologi di sekolah menengah masih luas, terutama integrasi teknologi, optimalisasi pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah, adaptasi model daring dan hibrida, penggunaan platform digital, pengembangan self-efficacy, dan inovasi lingkungan belajar untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses belajar. Penelitian dengan sitasi terbanyak menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, penggunaan teknologi, dan pendekatan berbasis lokal serta masalah dapat meningkatkan efektivitas strategi pembelajaran biologi di sekolah menengah. Inovasi-inovasi ini berpotensi besar meningkatkan keterlibatan dan hasil belajar siswa, memberikan panduan penting bagi pendidik dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang efektif.

Abstract

Sungai memiliki peran penting dalam ekosistem dan kehidupan sosial-ekonomi masyarakat, namun pencemaran akibat sampah domestik semakin mengancam keberlanjutannya. Salah satu faktor utama pencemaran akibat sampah domestik adalah kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat. Meskipun berbagai program pengelolaan sampah telah diinisiasi pemerintah, implementasi di tingkat masyarakat masih menghadapi kendala, terutama dalam aspek edukasi dan partisipasi aktif. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi edukasi pengelolaan sampah berbasis lingkungan yang telah diterapkan di berbagai negara serta mengidentifikasi pendekatan yang paling sesuai untuk diterapkan di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menganalisis artikel ilmiah, laporan kebijakan, studi kasus, serta regulasi terkait pengelolaan sampah. Hasil kajian akan menunjukkan efektivitas pendekatan edukasi berbasis partisipatif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dibandingkan metode konvensional. Model edukasi yang mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dan dukungan teknologi juga dianalisis efektivitasnya dalam mempercepat perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Hasil analisis dari studi ini menyoroti pentingnya model edukasi berbasis bukti yang adaptif terhadap kondisi lokal untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan sungai. Rekomendasi yang dihasilkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi pengambil kebijakan, akademisi, serta komunitas dalam merancang program edukasi yang lebih partisipatif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Fishing activities in river ecosystems occur year-round with seasonal variation, yet information on fish species, species interactions, and environmental conditions remains limited. Understanding these dynamics can enrich contextual biology learning in zoology, animal behavior, ecology, and environmental studies. This research aims to inventory fish species and their associations based on catches made by visiting anglers, highlighting local potential for biology learning. A descriptive exploratory design was used through observation, unstructured interviews, and literature review. Data were collected along the river flow of Karang Indah Mandastana Village, Barito Kuala District, over one month (late April and early July). A total of 162 individuals were recorded from five species: Anabas testudineus (67.9%), Rasbora aurotaenia (13.0%), Channa striata (8.0%), Rasbora argyrotaenia (7.4%), and Belontia hasselti (3.7%). Anabas testudineus was found at all observation points and dominated catches during calm or stagnant conditions, whereas Rasbora species dominated during stronger currents associated with morning tides. Species associations were influenced by tidal patterns and current presence. A positive correlation occurred between aquatic vegetation density and fish abundance (Spearman’s ρ = 0.53, p < 0.05), especially for Eleocharis dulcis (ρ = 0.74) and Hymenachne amplexicaulis (ρ = 0.68). Vegetation patches along riverbanks were associated with higher fish frequency. Findings also suggest that Anabas testudineus moves into nearby rice fields during high tides, indicating adaptive behavior to hydrological variation. These ecological patterns shaped by tides, currents, and vegetation show strong potential as contextual biology learning resources to increase student engagement and strengthen environmental relevance.
