Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement of fine motor skills in young children through origami-playing activities. By playing origami, children's fine motor skills will improve. Paper folding activities will ensure that children use their small muscles to fold the paper that has been provided, so that the small muscles will be sharpened to the maximum. This research uses classroom action research. The data required for this research was collected through observation of the implementation of origami or paper folding activities. During the learning and observation process, the researcher also noted things related to the problem that were in accordance with the researcher's focus. Based on the results of classroom action research (PTK) and data analysis carried out collaboratively between teachers and researchers, it can be concluded that the activity of folding origami paper can improve children's fine motor skills, which can be seen in the increase from cycle I, which obtained a percentage of 55.55% of children. Classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations experienced an increase in cycle II, which obtained a percentage of 94.45% of classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations.

Abstract

Children’s reading ability is now the main basis for taking the next level of education. The level of reading ability becomes a priority scale for early childhood education, and it needs to be developed comprehensively. One effort to encourage these capabilities is to use representative media, such as letter cards.  This research aims to improve the student’s ability to recognize letters using letter cards. This is classroom action research. The research has taken place in group A aged 4-5 years Kartini II Kindergarten PGRI Rambipiju. There were 16 students involved in this research. This used tests and observation sheets with 1-to-4-star assessment criteria such as students being able to show letters, and students being able to order letters. The students should therefore get a minimum of three stars in aspects observed for individual completeness; and 75% of the total number of students for classical completeness. The data were then analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results show that 56% of the total number of students or 9 students completed cycle I and 87% or 14 students completed cycle II. Accordingly, the letter cards can improve the student’s ability to recognize the alphabet.

Abstract

Most children have not been able to understand number symbols, children still feel confused when asked to show the number symbols. As for other factors, The educational resources that instructors frequently utilize are whiteboards, picture / poster media and explaining to children only verbally so that students feel bored and uninterested. The purpose of this study is to improve the ability to recognize numbers 1-10 in children aged 3-4 years through educational games of even semester playgroup number blocks at KB AL AMIN 2 Karang Semanding. number blocks are one of the visual media made of square wood consisting of 10 block units with different colors and numbers each block represents the number 1 block. While adaptive shaped embossed like braille. Class action research (PTK) is this research methodology. Six boys and ten girls made up the 16 children that participated in this study. In this study, documentation and observation were the methods used to acquire data. The study included quantitative-descriptive analysis methodologies to test the classical completeness of children's number recognition skills, ranging from 1 to 10. The findings demonstrated that learning activities using Adaptive Number Blocks media improved children's recognition of numbers 1–10. Specifically, in the pre-cycle, children's classical completeness in recognizing numbers 1–10 was only 37.5%; in cycle 1, it remained at 37.5%; and in cycle 2, it increased to 100%.

The expected benefit for children is an increased ability to recognize numbers through varied play methods using loose parts media. The method used is classroom action research, aimed at improving number recognition from 1-10 for children aged 3-4 years through varied play activities with loose parts media. The subjects of this research are 20 children aged 3-4 years. During the observation process, the researcher was directly involved in the research both inside and outside the classroom. The results of the research in Cycle I and Cycle II showed that: in Cycle I, 5 children or 25% received the Not Developed (BB) score, while 12 children or 60% received the Developing (MB) score. In Cycle I, there was an increase where 3 children or 15% out of 20 children scored Developing as Expected (BSH) and the Developing Very Well (BSB) score did not experience an increase, remaining at 0%. In Cycle II, the ability to recognize numbers 1-10 in children aged 3-4 years through varied play activities with loose parts media at SPS Bougenville 20 Rambipuji Jember reached the success indicator of 80%. With 4 children or 20% out of 20 children achieving the Developing as Expected (BSH) score, while the Developing Very Well (BSB) score was 16 children or 80% out of 20 children. Abstract

This study aims to improve fine motor skills in early childhood through collage activities using banana stems. The researcher employed classroom action research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which involves four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation. The research was conducted at Al Hidayah IX Kindergarten in Pondokrejo, Tempurejo, Jember, involving 30 students from group B. Data collection techniques included observation and documentation. The results showed that in the pre-cycle, 9 children (30%) achieved the expected developmental level. In the first cycle, 14 children (47%) reached this level, and in the second cycle, the number increased to 25 children (83%). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that collage activities using banana stems effectively enhance the fine motor skills of early childhood students, as evidenced by the results obtained at Al Hidayah IX Kindergarten in Pondokrejo, Tempurejo, Jember.
