Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the improvement of fine motor skills in young children through origami-playing activities. By playing origami, children's fine motor skills will improve. Paper folding activities will ensure that children use their small muscles to fold the paper that has been provided, so that the small muscles will be sharpened to the maximum. This research uses classroom action research. The data required for this research was collected through observation of the implementation of origami or paper folding activities. During the learning and observation process, the researcher also noted things related to the problem that were in accordance with the researcher's focus. Based on the results of classroom action research (PTK) and data analysis carried out collaboratively between teachers and researchers, it can be concluded that the activity of folding origami paper can improve children's fine motor skills, which can be seen in the increase from cycle I, which obtained a percentage of 55.55% of children. Classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations experienced an increase in cycle II, which obtained a percentage of 94.45% of classical children who were at the minimum criteria for developing according to expectations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi bahwa keterampilan motorik halus merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini karena berkaitan langsung dengan kemampuan mereka melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari, seperti menulis, menggambar, atau menyusun benda kecil. Namun, masih banyak anak yang mengalami hambatan dalam pengembangan keterampilan ini. Salah satu pendekatan yang dinilai efektif dan menyenangkan untuk melatih motorik halus adalah melalui aktivitas seni melipat kertas (origami). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran origami terhadap perkembangan keterampilan motorik halus anak usia 5–6 tahun di TK Al-Ghufron Sumberejo Ambulu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) menggunakan model pretest-posttest dengan kelompok kontrol. Sampel terdiri atas dua kelompok: satu kelompok diberi perlakuan berupa kegiatan origami, sementara kelompok kontrol tidak mendapatkan perlakuan tersebut. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi berbasis indikator perkembangan motorik halus anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen, di mana 58,33% anak mencapai kategori "berkembang sesuai harapan" dan 41,67% masuk kategori "berkembang sangat baik", sedangkan tidak ada lagi anak yang berada pada kategori "belum berkembang". Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,002 (< 0,05), yang mengonfirmasi bahwa pembelajaran origami memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap perkembangan motorik halus. Dengan demikian, origami dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran yang tidak hanya kreatif dan menyenangkan, tetapi juga efektif dalam mengoptimalkan kemampuan dasar anak usia dini, serta direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara rutin dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di PAUD.

Abstract

Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) memegang peran penting sebagai pondasi pengembangan seluruh aspek perkembangan anak, termasuk pengenalan konsep dasar numerasi. Namun demikian, pengenalan angka di kelas PAUD sering kali masih dilakukan secara konvensional sehingga kurang menarik minat belajar anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menjawab kebutuhan akan metode pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif, kontekstual, dan menyenangkan melalui penerapan metode bernyanyi dan tepuk tangan dalam mengenalkan angka 1–10 pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek 10 anak kelompok Apel di SPS Nusa Indah 63. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan guru kelas, serta dokumentasi selama kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode bernyanyi dan tepuk tangan mampu meningkatkan antusiasme, daya ingat, konsentrasi, serta keterlibatan aktif anak dalam kegiatan belajar. Anak-anak tampak lebih fokus dan berani menghafal urutan angka sambil melakukan gerakan tepuk tangan sesuai jumlah bilangan. Selain itu, metode ini juga mempermudah guru dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang hidup tanpa memerlukan media pembelajaran yang rumit. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa metode bernyanyi dan tepuk tangan dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran numerasi di PAUD, serta membuka peluang pengembangan metode serupa untuk materi pembelajaran lainnya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar guru dapat terus berinovasi dan memodifikasi lagu serta pola gerakan sesuai karakteristik anak dan materi yang diajarkan.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the cognitive ability of 4–5-year-old children in recognizing numerical symbols through the use of number ball educational play tools (APE) at Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten for the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this research lies in the low cognitive achievement at the early preoperational stage, where children require meaningful and concrete stimulation appropriate to their developmental level. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis & McTaggart model. The subjects were 15 Group A children. Instruments used included observation sheets and documentation. Pre-cycle results showed that only 26.7% of the children were in the "Developing as Expected" (BSH) category, with none in the "Very Well Developed" (BSB) category. After the first cycle, the percentage increased to 53.3% (BSH+BSB), and in the second cycle reached 80%, with 6 children (40%) in the BSB category and another 6 (40%) in BSH. These results indicate that the number ball media is effective in enhancing early childhood number symbol recognition skills. Therefore, concrete play-based learning such as number ball activities can enhance symbolic concept understanding and support the achievement of the zone of proximal development in accordance with Vygotsky's theory.

Abstract

This study aims to improve children’s fine motor skills through a variety of activities such as cutting, pasting, folding, drawing, coloring, and playing with magic sand in Group A of Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten for the 2024/2025 academic year. This research is grounded in the importance of fine motor skills for academic readiness and life skills in early childhood. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) design was employed, involving two cycles and 12 children as subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and informal interviews, with data analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods by calculating achievement percentages. The pre-cycle results showed 66.67% of children were in the “Emerging” category and 33.33% in the “Developing as Expected” category. After the first cycle, the results improved to 41.67% in the “Very Well Developed” category and 58.33% in the “Developing as Expected” category. In the second cycle, results significantly increased, with 83.33% of children classified as “Very Well Developed.” These results demonstrate that varied fine motor activities are effective in enhancing children's skills. It is recommended that teachers use similar activity variations, and further research should explore other developmental aspects.

Abstract

This study intents to improve the ability to recognize geometric shapes in 15 Group A children at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal using an educational toy (APE) called “Geometric Fruit Satay.” The main issue in this study is the low level of children’s understanding of geometric shapes, as indicated by a pre-cycle average score of 1.50. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Elliot model (1991), conducted over two cycles. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and informal interviews, with descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed an increase in the average score of geometric shape recognition ability from 1.50 (pre-cycle) to 2.35 (Cycle I), and a significant increase to 3.20 in Cycle II. The highest improvement was in the indicator of classifying shapes by type, which increased by 1.93 points. These findings indicate that using concrete game-based APEs such as Geometric Fruit Satay effectively stimulates conceptual understanding through active motor and exploratory activities in children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the storytelling method in improving early childhood social-emotional intelligence. Social-emotional intelligence is the child’s ability to understand and manage emotions, build social relationships, and adapt to the surrounding environment. The subjects of this study were 12 children aged 5–6 years at TK PGRI 02 Ambulu. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed a significant improvement in children's social-emotional abilities after the application of the storytelling method. Children were better able to express their feelings, interact with peers, and demonstrate empathy and independence. Storytelling has proven to be an effective medium for delivering social-emotional values in a way that is enjoyable and easily understood by young children. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana efektivitas metode mendongeng dalam meningkatkan kecerdasan sosial emosional anak usia dini. Kecerdasan sosial emosional merupakan kemampuan anak dalam memahami, mengelola emosi, menjalin hubungan sosial, serta menyesuaikan diri dalam lingkungan sekitarnya. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 12 anak usia 5–6 tahun di TK PGRI 02 Ambulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles & Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setelah diberikan perlakuan berupa pembelajaran melalui metode mendongeng, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dalam aspek kecerdasan sosial emosional anak. Anak lebih mampu mengungkapkan perasaan, berinteraksi dengan teman sebaya, dan menunjukkan sikap empati serta kemandirian. Kegiatan mendongeng terbukti dapat menjadi media efektif dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai sosial emosional secara menyenangkan dan mudah dipahami anak usia dini.
