Abstract

Vegetable waste that is wasted can be used as liquid organic fertilizer in an effort to reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers that can damage the environment. This study aims to study the effects of dose and time of application of liquid organic fertilizer from vegetable waste on cowpea plants. This research was conducted in Antang village, Manggala district, Makassar, South Sulawesi. This research was arranged in a randomized block design with a factorial pattern consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the dose of liquid organic fertilizer, which consisted of 4 levels, namely: control, 5 cc/l, 10 cc/l, and 15 cc/l. The second factor was the time of administration. Spraying in the morning and spraying in the afternoonThe results showed that in the afternoon, the application of liquid organic fertilizer from vegetable waste had an effect on the production of cowpea plants. The parameters of the highest seed weight obtained were 21.48 g and weight per 100 plant seeds obtained the highest yield of 10.13 g.

Abstract

Evaluasi lahan merupakan suatu pendekatan untuk menilai potensi sumber daya lahan. Hasil evaluasi lahan akan memberikan informasi arahan penggunaan lahan yang diperlukan, dan akhirnya nilai harapan produksi yang kemungkinan akan diperoleh. Kebutuhan lahan setiap tahun semakin meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk yang tidak diimbangi dengan ketersediaan lahan yang  memadai untuk lahan pertanian yang subur dan potensial. Penelitian tentang Evaluasi Kesesuaian Lahan Tanaman Kakao di SUB DAS Salu Paku Kabupaten Luwu utara merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi Kakao dimana secara umum produksi di Daerah tersebut masih sangat rendah di banding potensi produksi optimal tanaman Kakao. Produksi tanaman Kakao di Sub DAS Salu Paku hanya berkisar 0,6657 ton /ha dan masih jauh di bawah potensi produksi Tanaman Kakao sebanyak 1,5 ton/ha Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) menentukan tingkat kesesuaian lahan tanaman kakao di Sub DAS Salu Paku Kabupaten Luwu Utara. 2) membuat peta klasifikasi  kesesuaian lahan aktual dan potensial tanaman kakao. Peneltian  dilaksanakan pada  bulan Juli sampai Desember 2020. Bahan dan alat yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah  peta administrasi, penggunaan lahan, peta jenis tanah, peta lereng, peta geologi dan citra lansat dengan skala 1 : 75.000, GPS, bor, abney level, meteran, kamera dan alat tulis menulis. Berdasarkan analisis kelas kesesuaian lahan aktual dari tiga unit lahan yang diambil sebagai sampel  umumnya menunjukkan kesesuaian lahan sesuai marginal (S3ne) dengan faktor pembatas hara tersedia (K2O) dan tingkat bahaya erosi (lereng). Dengan kondisi kesesuaian tersebut maka usaha perbaikan terhadap faktor pembatas K2O dengan pemberian  pupuk KCl dan pembuatan teras dengan tingkat kategori tinggi.

Abstract

Aloe vera is one type of plant that has many benefits, including as a food and health drink, basic ingredients of medicines and cosmetics. Aloe vera can be made nata de aloe with a simple process using materials and tools that are easily available, nata de aloe is a fruit ice mixture that is fibrous, low in calories, contains good nutrition for people with diabetes and is very suitable for consumption as a diet drink. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the Anyelir farmer group in Pucak village, in utilizing the aloe vera plant to become nata de aloe, as a fibrous health food product. This activity is carried out using counseling methods, direct practice and training as well as assistance in making nata de aloe in a simple using tools and materials that are easily available and can be carried out by all members of the community. Results: the people of Pucak Village in general are familiar with the aloe vera plant, even in every yard they have collected this plant. However, not much is known about its use. Based on observations, the general public only knows the benefits of aloe vera as a hair-fertilizing plant, nothing more than that. After this counseling, the knowledge and skills of the community increased, especially in utilizing the aloe vera plant to make nata de aloe as a fibrous food product, besides that the community could know and understand the health benefits of the aloe vera plant. Furthermore, they can produce nata de aloe to increase household income. Community knowledge and skills increase in terms of the process of making nata de aloe, which can then produce products and increase income.

Abstract

Rice is one of the food crops and commercial crops. Rice also has the potential to contribute significantly to increasing income and employment in rural areas. As indicated by rice imports from Thailand and Vietnam, national rice production has not been able to meet domestic demand. The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the actual and potential land suitability levels of rice plants in Luwu Regency and (2) to find out the limiting factors for actual and potential land suitability of rice plants in Luwu Regency. Evaluation of rice land suitability using the FAO method. Based on the limiting factors of land characteristics. The results showed that the actual land suitability of plants was marginal (S3fn) with the limiting factors for nutrient retention (organic C) and available nutrients (P2O5 and K2O). Efforts to improve the limiting factor can be made by adding 59.6 t organic matter ha-1, 332.6 kg P2O5 ha-1, and 98 kg K2O     ha-1 so that the actual land suitability of marginal (S3) becomes very suitable (S1).

Abstract

Liquid Organic Fertilizer is a plant fertilizer that comes from organic materials. Raw materials come from wet organic materials or organic materials that have a high water content such as fruit and vegetable waste. POC has a good long-term effect on the soil, namely, it can improve the structure and organic content of the soil, and produce agricultural products that are safe for health so that POC can be used as environmentally friendly fertilizer. The research was carried out from August to October 2020, in Pasa' Dalle Tongko Village, Baroko District, Enrekang Regency. The research aims to determine the best concentration and frequency of POC treatment for the growth and production of cabbage plants. The research was prepared using a factorial design consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the concentration of POC fertilizer with 3 levels, namely 1 mL/ L of water, 2 ml/ L of water, and 3 mL/ L of water. The second factor is the frequency of POC treatment which consists of 3 levels, namely 2 times spraying, 4 times spraying,and 6 times spraying.  The results of the research showed that the interaction of various concentrations and frequency of POC spraying had no significant effect on all parameters observed. POC concentration of 3 mL/ L of water gave significantly different effects on all observation parameters, except for plant height. Similarly, the frequency of spraying 4 times gave a significantly different effect on all observation parameters

Abstract

The breadfruit plant (Artocarpus altilis) can be cultivated as a staple food to accompany rice to support the diversification of food consumption found in many regions in Indonesia. Apart from being a food-producing plant, breadfruit plants act as pioneering plants for reforestation, land conservation, and medicinal plants. The research aims to determine the effect of goat drum fertilizer and PGPR on the growth of breadfruit plant seed cuttings. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with a factorial analysis of two factors and three replications. The first factor is the dose of goat manure, which consists of 4 levels: control (without fertilizer), 100g polybag-1, 200g polybag-1, and 300g polybag-1. The second factor is the PGPR concentration from bamboo roots, which consists of 4 levels: control (without PGPR), 115ml L-1, 125ml L-1, and 135ml L-1. The research results show that using a 300g polybag-1 dose of goat drum fertilizer has a natural effect and tends to be better on the parameters of shoot emergence time, shoot length, number of leaves, and root length. Meanwhile, the PGPR concentration of bamboo roots at a concentration of 135mlL-1 significantly affected all parameters measured. The interaction between the dose of goat drum fertilizer and the PGPR concentration of bamboo roots had no significant effect on the growth of breadfruit plant root cuttings.

Abstract

Carbon is an important nutrient for building soil organic matter which is needed in agricultural activities. Cultivation activities in paddy fields increase carbon gas emissions into CO2 into the atmosphere, especially in irrigated rice fields. This study aims to determine the level of content and map the distribution of organic carbon in paddy fields in Pallangga District, Gowa Regency. The research was carried out in Pallangga District, Gowa Regency from December 2021–January 2022. The research method used the free grid method with a total of 33 samples and map interpolation using ArcGIS software. The results showed that the status of the level of organic carbon content was in the very low to low criteria. The level of organic carbon content is very low, namely T8 8.83 tons/ha, T9 7.85 tons/ha, T10 9.74 tons/ha, and T11 9.20 tons/ha. While the low organic carbon content is T1 which is 12.76 tons/ha, T2 points 11.76 tons/ha, T3 10.92 tons/ha, T4 12.98 tons/ha, T5 12.90 tons/ha, T6 11 .66 tons/ha, and T7 is 13.06 tons/ha. The mapping area of low criteria organic carbon distribution is only 27% or 850 ha of the total area, while 73% or 2,338 ha is categorized as very low. Based on these results, it is necessary to take action on agricultural land management, especially rice fields that are friendly to carbon emissions, one of them is stabilizing the use of chemical and organic fertilizers, the organic material produced by such cultivation activities as straw is not burned and returned to the soil so that it could maintain fertility and quality of soil and improve the physical, chemical, and biological conditions needed for sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

Sabut kelapa sebagai bahan dasar cocopeat merupakan limbah, jika limbah ini diolah dengan baik, akan memberikan nilai ekonomi dan meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat. Karang Taruna Bunga Teratai adalah  organisasi generasi muda di kelurahan Mawang Kabupaten Gowa, yang sudah mengembangkan rumah cocopet, namun proses produksi tidak berlanjut karena terkendala dengan mesin pencacah yang tidak bisa beroperasi lagi. Oleh karena itu melalui Program Pengabdian Masyarakat DRTPM ini, diharapkan proses produksi  aktif kembali. Tujuan kegiatan: (1). Sosialisasi dan pelatihan  tentang cara tepat mengolah sabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat (2). Pelatihan, penerapan teknologi mesin cocopeat (3). Pendampingan manajemen pemasaran. (4) Evaluasi kegiatan. Tahapan kegiatan yaitu:(1).  Peningkatan keterampilan dengan metode pelatihan pengolahan sabut kelapa menjadi media tanam cocopeat. (2). Peningkatan fasilitas produksi dengan metode penggunaan teknologi mesin pencacah sabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat. (3) Peningkatan manajemen pemasaran dengan metode bimbingan teknis manajemen pemasaran. Hasil: (1). Peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat tentang pengolahan sabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat yang berkualitas, dengan metode perendaman selama 6 hari, penjemuran lalu pencacahan, kualitas cocopeat yang dihasilkan: berpori, teksturnya menyerupai tanah dan berwarna lebih gelap, steril bebas dari hama dan penyakit dengan kandungan KA 16%. (2) dengan penerapan teknologi mesin pencacah, terjadi efisiensi tenaga, waktu dan diperoleh rendemen 80%, (3). dengan pendampingan manajemen pemsaran, mitra terampil mempersiapkan produk untuk dipasarkan dengan label informasi kualitas cocopeat dan kemasan yang lebih menarik.

Abstract

Red chilli productivity is influenced by land suitability, climatic factors, and nutrient content. Various ways are done and continue to be developed to overcome land problems with actual soil conditions that are not suitable, as well as to overcome the constraints of high rainfall. The purpose of the study was to determine the actual and potential land suitability and inhibiting factors for large chilli plants in Gantarang District. The results of actual land suitability are marginal suitability (S3) with limiting factors of water availability (high rainfall) in all land units and rooting media (soil depth) in land units 4 and 7. Improvement efforts made for high rainfall are by making drainage channels, raising beds, and planting at the end of the rainy season. Improvement efforts with the limiting factor of soil depth in land units 4 and 7 are tillage on solid, soft, and thin layers. Efforts to improve soil depth require sophisticated tools and technology, and high costs.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini melibatkan 1 mitra UMKM, yaitu Rumah Makan Kerang Celebes. Permasalahan mitra adalah kurangnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam memasarkan dan membangun hubungan dengan pelanggan secara online serta lokasi usaha/nama bisnis belum terdaftar dan terverifikasi secara digital di internet. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk membantu UMKM Kerang Celebes lebih mudah ditemukan oleh calon pelanggan secara online dan meningkatkan kepercayaan calon pelanggan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini adalah metode mediasi dan pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah lokasi usaha mitra telah berhasil terdaftar dan terverifikasi pada Google Maps yang terintegrasi dengan Akun Profil Bisnis Google mitra. Hal tersebut memudahkan mitra dalam melakukan pengeditan informasi bisnis di Profil Bisnis Google yang relevan dengan usahanya. Hasil kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memberi dampak peningkatkan pelanggan yang dapat mendatangkan keuntungan usaha bagi mitra.
