Abstract

Errors have long been the obsession of language instructors and researchers. Before, errors were looked at as a problem that should be eradicated. However, errors are now considered as a device that learners use and from which they can learn, they provide evidence of the learner's level in the target language , they contain valuable information on the learning strategies of learners , and they also supply means by which teachers can assess learning and teaching and determine priorities for future effort. Thus, conducting error analysis is therefore one of the best ways to describe and explain errors committed by the EFL learners. The objective of this study is to identify type of errors on the EFL that is commonly found in students writing performances according to Surface Strategy taxonomy, to identify the possible causes of students’ errors in their writing performances and to identify kind of grammatical errors in students writing performances. This study employed a qualitative method. Sources of data were students’ writing performance in essay form. The result shows all of the four types of errors according to surface strategy taxonomy such as omission, misinformation, addition, and malformation/disordering, the result shows omission and misinformation are the types of errors that commonly found English department students’ essays. However, omission is the type of errors that is founded the most in students writing. The Possible causes of students’ error are: The learner doesn’t know the structural pattern. Hence, they make random response; The correct model has been insufficiently practiced; Distortion may induce by the first language. Kind of grammatical errors that is found in students’ essays are noun and verb inflection, subject-verb agreement, articles, pronouns, spellings, singular/plural form, capitalization, sentence fragments and prepositions. On the basis of these results, some pedagogical implications which might assist ESL/EFL teachers with some helpful suggestions and teaching strategies that will reduce future problems regarding writing for EFL learners.

Abstract

Islamic banking or in the international world is commonly referred to as Islamic banking or also known as interest-free banking. The use of the word sharia in the word sharia banking cannot be separated from the origins of the sharia banking system. This is motivated by the pressure on Muslim economists and banking practitioners who want financial services that accommodate financial transactions that run straight with sharia principles in Islam and also moral values. The main factor arises from the practice of prohibiting usury, maysir activities, and also gharar activities. Therefore, Muslim economists and Muslim banking practitioners have created Islamic financial institutions based on the Al-Quran and As-Sunnah whose activities continue to grow. The purpose of this study was to describe the public's understanding of the development of Islamic banking in Environment II, Tanah Seribu Village, South Binjai District, Binjai City. In this study, researchers used qualitative research. The methodology used is descriptive qualitative methodology. In this case it is used to describe the extent of understanding of the Muslim community in the Tanah Seribu sub-district about Islamic banking. From the results of interviews conducted with 6 members of the Muslim community in the land of a thousand cities, Binjai. That the awareness of Islamic banks in the city of Binjai is quite high. This is based on the 6 respondents who were studied, all of whom knew about the existence of Islamic banking in the city of Binjai. the researcher concludes that many people in the country of a thousand know Islamic banking, but many also only know but do not use products from Islamic banking. Only a few respondents use products and services from Islamic banking. However, the understanding of the people of Tanah Seribu is quite high about Islamic banks, this is because all respondents answered that Islamic banks are Islamic banks that do not use interest and do not make a lot of deductions.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance teachers' competence in creating innovative technology-based learning media. Not all teachers have sufficient understanding and skills to optimally utilize the popular and valuable Canva and Linktree applications as technology-based learning media. Through this community service activity, training will be conducted to address this issue. The participants of this community service activity consist of 30 members of the MGMP Nagan Raya. The implementation stages of this activity are divided into three main parts: preparation, execution, and evaluation. The methods used in this community service activity include observation, group discussion forums, interviews, socialization, training, and mentoring. The final result of this activity is that teachers can understand and effectively use Canva and Linktree applications to create innovative learning media. The outcomes indicate an improvement in the knowledge and skills of the training participants, namely the teachers, in using Canva and Linktree to support technology-based learning.

Abstract

This study was motivated by findings on the implementation of the "Merdeka Curriculum" by Social Studies (teachers in Junior High School (JHS) in Bireuen Regency, where performance in teaching and learning responsibilities did not meet expectations. This was evident from the lack of analysis of learning evaluation results and the failure to implement 21st-century framework-based learning, which emphasizes student-centered teaching, critical thinking, and innovation. The research aims to 1) analyze the effect of work motivation on the work discipline of Social Studies teachers in JHS in Bireuen Regency; and 2) examine the combined effects of work motivation and discipline on their performance. The study involved 52 Social Studies teachers in Bireuen Regency, selected using Slovin's formula. Path analysis using SPSS was applied as the analytical technique, and the research employed a causal descriptive approach to investigate direct and indirect relationships between variables. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The findings revealed that 1) work motivation significantly influences the work discipline of Social Studies teachers, indicating that improving teacher motivation enhances their discipline; and 2) work motivation and discipline significantly affect teacher performance, suggesting that enhancing both factors can improve the performance of Social Studies teachers in JHS in Bireuen Regency.

Abstract

Medical record clerk Public Hospital in South Solok still trouble in the process management of inpatient data because it is still using manual systems that haven't computerized. Then needed a medical record information system Web-based inpatient care can help medical record officers in the process of the patient data management. Objectives; To produce a medical record information system Web-based inpatient Public Hospital in South Solok. Method; This system design method using the system development life cycle SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) which consists of the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, and usage. Results; Produce a medical record information system web-based inpatient public hospital in south solok. which can be used for computerized medical record officers by the management of the medical record in inpatient services unit. Conclusion; The presence of medical record information system Web-based Inpatient Public Hospital in Solok Selatan, can facilitate the attendant medical record medical record data in the management of patient hospitalization, because the system information it generates various reports information medical record of patients required inpatient management for decision making.

Abstract

Permainan olahraga softball, seringkali atlet mengalami gangguan dalam kepercayaan diri pada saat di dalam pertandingan, sehingga atlet mengalami penurunan performa, seperti mudah terprovokasi oleh tim lawan, salah dalam melempar bola pada saat posisi bertahan, gagal dalam melakukan pukulan pada saat posisi menyerang, dan berbagai hal lainnya. Hal ini mengakibatkan atlet kesulitan untuk memenangkan pertandingan dan cenderung saling menyalahkan satu sama lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan growth mindset terhadap kepercayaan diri atlet softball. Metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini yang melibatkan 16 atlet softball putra dan putri kabupaten Bogor. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa kuesioner grwoth mindset scale yang diberikan satu kali kepada sampel. Setelah data diperoleh, analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji korelasi SPSS Versi 29. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara growth mindset terhadap kepercayaan diri atlet softball. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa growth mindset dan kepercayaan diri memiliki peran yang penting dalam pengembangan atlet softball. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa growth mindset dan kepercayaan diri memiliki peran yang penting dalam pengembangan atlet softball dalam konteks olahraga yang kompetitif.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Konsumsi kopi dan susu semakin populer di kalangan remaja, termasuk mahasiswa kedokteran, yang sering menggunakannya untuk meningkatkan energi dan konsentrasi. Kopi mengandung kafein yang dapat memperburuk gejala Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) dengan memengaruhi keseimbangan hormon estrogen dan progesteron, sementara susu mengandung vitamin D dan K yang dapat membantu mengurangi gejala PMS. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan konsumsi kopi dan susu hewani terhadap gejala Pre-menstrual syndrome pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Angkatan 2023 Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. Metode: Penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analitis dengan rancangan penelitian Cross-Sectional. Penentuan besar sampel dilakukan dengan rumus Slovin, menghasilkan jumlah sampel sebanyak 126 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) untuk konsumsi kopi dan susu, serta Shortened Premenstrual Assessment Form (SPAF) untuk menilai gejala pramenstruasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney Test. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswi yang mengonsumsi kopi murni mengalami gejala PMS sebanyak 73%. Sebaliknya, mayoritas mahasiswi yang mengonsumsi susu hewani tidak mengalami gejala PMS, yaitu sebesar 90,5%. Nilai rata-rata untuk konsumsi kopi adalah 33,0, sedangkan untuk konsumsi susu adalah 29,25 dengan P-Value untuk perbandingan ini adalah 0,000 (α = 0,05). Kesimpulan: terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara konsumsi kopi dan susu terhadap premenstrual syndrome pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Angkatan 2023 Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara.
