Abstract

The sophistication of digital media encourages the participation of da'i and enlivens the da'wah event through various Islamic content displayed. This phenomenon opens up opportunities to maximize amar makruf and nahi munkar practically through digital platforms that are democratic and open. Therefore, this research examines Ustad Hanan Attaki's preaching message on the Instagram account @hanan_attaki through content containing aqidah, sharia and moral values displayed in his video reel on Instagram media. This research is qualitative research that applies descriptive and analytical methods in studying Ustad Hanan Attaki's preaching message. Meanwhile, the data collection technique includes selecting content that is relevant to the da'wah message containing the values of faith, sharia and morals on the Instagram account @hanan_attaki as primary data. Secondary data includes journals, the internet and digital traces of Ustad Hanan Attaki. The da'wah theory used in analyzing Hanan Attaki's preaching material contains elements of faith, sharia and morals. The results of this research found that the use of Instagram media on the @hanan_attaki account creates a polite religious climate through creative delivery of da'wah. The narrative video reel displayed is able to represent the values of faith, sharia and morals so as to provide enlightenment amidst the rush of information in today's digital world. Abstract

Ethics and morals among teenagers are still considered to be low, as evidenced by many of them not adhering to or ignoring the advice of their parents or teachers at school. The goal of this community service is to provide a deep understanding of ethics and morals simultaneously. The service is carried out using the PAR approach with the aid of laptops, LCD projectors, and sound systems. The results show that the activity proceeded very well and was attended by all students present at the service location. The service began with providing specific material on ethics and morals. The students were able to provide good feedback to the presenters and understand the material provided. In conclusion, the community service ran smoothly and had a very positive impact on the students specifically and the school in general.

Abstract

Pendekatan dakwah humanis dalam panggung digital menawarkan konsep baru dalam rangka mengedukasi khalayak mengakses literatur keagamaan, terutama di kalangan remaja muslim Indonesia. Ruang siber sebagai etalase informasi mengharuskan khalayak jeli dalam memilih literatur keagamaan sebagai sumber keislaman. Akun media Instagram Syubbanul Muslimin menjadi alternatif bagi pengguna dalam mengakses konten dakwah dan shalawat dengan mengedapankan prinsip humanisme Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian etnografi virtual. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui dokumentasi, gambar, video, dan foto yang terdapat dalam postingan media syubbanul muslimin di media Instagram. Studi ini menghasilkan temuan utama bahwa dakwah humanis dibutuhkan oleh generasi muda dalam upaya merekatkan harmonisasi keagamaan tanpa membedakan kelas sosial. Media Instagram sebagai medium dakwah mengantarkan umat dalam memperoleh informasi Islami berlandaskan cinta sebagaimana teladan Nabi Muhammad terhadap umatnya. Dakwah Syubbanul Muslimin di ruang siber turut berperan dalam percaturan dakwah di era keterbukaan informasi dan berupaya menampilkan Islam rahmatan lil alamin sebagai upaya merebut panggung digital dari serbuan informasi yang serba dinamis dan isu terorisme yang menguat.

Abstract

Wasathiyah Islam in the current context is faced with increasing violent content in the name of religion, the proliferation of religious populism, and the rise of radical discourse in virtual spaces. This article aims to map the role of Muslim figures who campaign for Wasathiyah Islam on digital media platforms so that the public can understand it clearly. This research uses a qualitative method based on literature study. Primary data is centred on narratives of Islamic wasathiyah through YouTube channels of four Indonesian Muslim figures, including Din Syamsudin, Quraish Shihab, Nasaruddin Umar, and Habib Husein Jakfar. Secondary data includes articles, journals, books, and digital traces about wasathiyah Islam. Data collection techniques focused on literature review and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that these four Muslim figures play a significant role in promoting wasathiyah Islam in the digital space as an effort to present a moderate Islamic perspective and emphasise the principle of tolerance. The content of moderate Islam as a religious knowledge offering to the public through the perspective of Muslim figures is not limited to disseminating Islamic values but also seeks to counter takfiri interpretations, block radical content, and combat the spread of hoax information on social media, which is currently spreading like a snowball effect and being exploited by various actors under the guise of religion.   Keywords: Wasathiyah Islam, Digital Media, Muslim Figures

Abstract

Micro-celebrities preachers have taken an important part in educating the ummah through Islamic messages while establishing virtual religious authority. Celeb da’i gain strategic space and recognition from the community through religious studies and have the potential to become a reference for religious knowledge. The contestation of virtual religious authority with traditional religious authority as an authoritative source is dynamic, and at the same time fragmentation occurs. This research concentrates on da’i micro-celebrities including Ustadzah Oki Setiana Dewi, Ustad Syam, and Aa Gym. This research is focused on three digital platforms including YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. The time span of this research starts from February to July 2024. The research method uses descriptive qualitative through netnography studies. The finding is that virtual religious authority is illustrated through the digital platform micro-celebrities da’i, which offers a new face of entertainment, adapts to the latest trends, and is solutive in carrying out religious missions.  The power of digital media catapults the popularity and religious influence of celeb da’i in the Islamic cyber environment, further perpetuating virtual religious authority as a source of religious information for the ummah.

Abstract

new religious trend on TikTok social media through religious expression played by urban Muslim millennials in the form of shalawat is taking place in the information age. This article aims to investigate the religious expression of urban Muslim millennials through shalawat impressions that often appear on the homepage. This research method uses descriptive qualitative through virtual ethnography approach. The data collection technique is through the selection of shalawat content on TikTok social media played by urban Muslim youth. The author chooses 3 shalawat contents that are considered viral and often circulate on TikTok social media. The results of this study show that TikTok media as a space for expressing the religiosity of urban Muslim millennials takes an important part in increasing social religious activities, fostering religious spirit and self-existence by openly displaying religious symbols, products and identities. The activism of young urban Muslims massively carries out religious rituals that are formed naturally in the form of virtual taklim assemblies that bring out passion in religion.
