Abstract

Introduction: Daily physical activities, especially sports, always contain the risk of injury, which most often occurs in the lower extremities, especially the knee joint. Knee injuries are generally caused by direct trauma, excessive pressure, or incorrect movement techniques, resulting in clinical symptoms such as pain, swelling, and decreased range of motion that can interfere with daily activities. Many athletes and the general public experience this problem, so proper and fast treatment is needed. Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of two massage methods, namely effriction and frirage in treating knee injuries with a 2x2 factorial experimental design. Method: The study sample was purposively selected and then divided into four groups based on the type of massage and duration of injury (10 days and 1 month). Two main parameters were measured: pain level using a Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and joint range of motion using a Goniometer. Data were analysed using SPSS through normality, homogeneity, and Two-Way ANOVA tests to test for differences in treatment effects. Results: The results showed that effriction was more effective in reducing pain at 1 month (58.33%) compared to 10 days (44.44%), while frirage was optimal in the initial phase (34.92%). ROM improvement was more significant on long-term therapy (effriction: 21.64%; frirage: 18.24%). Two-way ANOVA analysis revealed a significant interaction between the massage method and the duration of injury (p<0.05). Conclusion: The selection of massage technique should consider the duration of injury, with effriction for long-term treatment and frirage for the acute phase for optimal rehabilitation outcomes.

Abstract

The background of the research is that there are still many VII D students at SMPN 42 Semarang who have learning outcomes for football passing below the success criteria. This research aims to determine the effect of the triangle goal game method on the passing learning outcomes of class VII D students at SMPN 42 Semarang. The type of research used is classroom action research. The subjects in this research were students in class VII D of SMP Negeri 42 Semarang with a total of 32 students. The research instrument uses an assessment rubric. The data analysis technique uses comparative descriptives, namely comparing pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II. The research results showed that the learning outcomes in cycle I were 17 students or 50% of students who had achieved the success criteria and 17 students or 50% of students had not achieved the success criteria. The average student score in cycle I was 76.35. In cycle II, there were 30 students or 89% of students who had achieved the success criteria and 4 students or 11% of students had not reached the criteria. The average student score in cycle II was 82.71. The conclusion of the research is that the percentage of students' success criteria from the pre-cycle was 35% which increased in cycle I to 50% who achieved the criteria and experienced an increase again in cycle II, namely 89% of students achieved the success criteria so that the success target was achieved.

Abstract

Teacher interaction is critical for improving student engagement and motivation in Game-Centered Approach (GCA)-based basketball learning.  The purpose of this study was to examine how teacher interaction affects student engagement and motivation within this pedagogical framework.  This study utilized a quasi-experimental design with junior high school students as participants.  The experimental group received improved teacher interaction strategies, such as providing feedback, asking reflective questions, and fostering discussions, whereas the control group used conventional learning methods. Data were collected using pre-and post-test questionnaires, classroom observations, and structured interviews.  The results revealed a significant increase in student engagement and motivation in the experimental group compared to the control group (p = 0.000).  Statistical analysis utilizing paired t-tests and independent t-tests confirmed that teacher interaction in GCA-based basketball learning improved students' learning outcomes.  This study underlines the relevance of teachers as facilitators for improving student participation and motivation.

Abstract

The importance of physical activity in enhancing student engagement in the learning process has prompted the development of the Fun-Trastic model, a fun, traditional, music, and energetic physical activity designed for the early childhood phase. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Fun-Trastic model in engaging students, measuring their enthusiasm and preferences, and assessing its feasibility in educational contexts. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed, consisting of three stages: model trial, expert validation, and student preference evaluation. The participants in the study were 9-10-year-old elementary school students from Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Data collection involved a Likert-scale questionnaire administered after students performed the Fun-Trastic activities, with a focus on measuring engagement, enjoyment, and intensity levels. Results showed that students found the Fun-Trastic activity to be highly enjoyable and engaging, with positive responses regarding their enthusiasm and participation. Additionally, the activity was considered appropriately challenging without causing excessive exertion, indicating its potential as an effective physical activity model for elementary school students. The study concluded that Fun-Trastic could be a valuable addition to physical education programs, promoting student engagement without overwhelming them.
