Abstract

Many studies have discussed the relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction, but only few have discussed the role of emotional exhaustion as a mediator in this relationship, especially among retail sales person. This study aims to examine the relationship of emotional labor and job satisfaction through the mediation role of emotional exhaustion. Data for this study was collected from 86 retail sales person from Jabodetabek, recruited through convenience sampling technique. The measurement tools were Job in General, Emotional labor Scale, and Maslach Burnout Inventory. The mediation analysis showed that emotional exhaustion is able to mediate the relationship between surface acting and job satisfaction. However, there was no mediating role of emotional exhaustion in the relationship between deep acting and job satisfaction. These explain that the more retail sales people use surface acting, the more they feel emotional exhaustion which will result in low level of job satisfaction. But those deep acting strategies are not proven to have an influence on emotional exhaustion, so this factor cannot be the mediator in relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction. Banyak studi sebelumnya yang meneliti hubungan antara emotional labor dan job satisfaction, namun masih sedikit yang membahas terkait peran emotional exhaustion sebagai mediator dalam hubungan tersebut, terutama pada karyawan sales ritel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan emotional labor dan job satisfaction melalui peran mediasi emotional exhaustion. Partisipan penelitian merupakan karyawan sales ritel Jabodetabek yang berjumlah 86 orang, direkrut dengan teknik convenience sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Job in General, Emotional labor Scale, dan Maslach Burnout Inventory. Hasil analisis mediasi menunjukkan bahwa emotional exhaustion mampu memediasi hubungan antara surface acting dan job satisfaction, namun tidak menemukan adanya peran mediasi emotional exhaustion dalam hubungan antara deep acting dan job satisfaction. Ini menjelaskan semakin sering karyawan sales ritel menggunakan surface acting maka semakin karyawan akan merasakan emotional exhaustion yang berdampak pada rendahnya tingkat job satisfaction. Tetapi strategi deep acting yang digunakan karyawan, tidak terbukti memiliki pengaruh terhadap emotional exhaustion, sehingga faktor tersebut tidak dapat berperan sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara emotional labor dan job satisfaction.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a new design of Jig Valve Spring Compressor that uses double flange, replacing the previous design that only uses one flange. This new design, which is still under development, has the potential to increase the speed and efficiency of the cylinder head overhaul process which has previously shown an increase in time efficiency of up to 82%. The development of this design is based on ergonomic principles using the OWAS  method to minimize the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and improve the working comfort of technicians during the engine valve removal and installation process.

Abstract

Menentukan Angle of Attack dalam sistem mekanis yang menggunakan Silinder Hidrolik merupakan hal utama dalam perancangan alat untuk mengangkat beban, terutama yang menuntut efisiensi tempat. Angle of Attack yangmendekati 90 derajat (maksimum) merupakan sistem mekanis yang efektif, namun di sisi lain akan mengakibatkan Rasio Gaya mendekati 0, sebaliknya Angle of Attack mendekati 0 derajat akan membuat sistem menjadi tidak efektif bila dilihat dari sisi tempat yang dibutuhkan. Peneliti membuat model perhitungan denganmenambahkan komponen yang lain yaitu cam dengan rasio tertentu, yang dapat membantu pergerakan sistem Mekanis yang menggunakan Silinder Hidrolik untuk mengatasi masalah Angle of Attack mendekati atau sama dengan 90 derajat tersebut dapat beroperasi. Cara kerja dari komponen cam tersebut adalah dengan memberikangaya ungkit pada Lengan dari sistem melalui pergeseran dari Silider Hidrolik itu sendiri sampai antara sistem Lengan dan Silinder Hidrolik terbentuk Angel of Attack yang cukup memadai, cam akan berhenti pada posisi yangditentukan sebelumnya dan selanjutnya hanya Silinder Hidrolik akan beroperasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan,perbandingan perubahan antar panjang Silinder Hidrolik dan ketinggian menunjukkan bahwa alat angkat kendaraan ini dapat beroperasi dengan bantuan mekanisme cam, hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil perbandingan (rasio) secara total paling kecil adalah 1.65939 , dapat diartikan dengan menggunakan Silinder Hidrolik berkekuatan angkat 1 Ton, maka angkat (melalui Rasio Cam) yang dihasilkan adalah 1.65939 Ton.

Abstract

Indoor air quality (IAQ) plays a crucial role in the health and comfort of building occupants, where pollutants like formaldehyde can cause serious health issues. To reduce formaldehyde levels, photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) technology using titanium dioxide (TiO2) substrates has been shown to be effective. This study aims to optimize the PCO system design using TiO2-coated stainless steel mesh substrates in a honeycomb monolith reactor configuration to enhance formaldehyde degradation efficiency. Three variations of stainless steel mesh layers (5, 10, and 15 layers) were tested to evaluate their impact on formaldehyde (HCHO) concentration reduction. The results indicated that increasing the number of mesh layers significantly improved the formaldehyde degradation efficiency. The highest efficiency, 96.06%, was observed with 15 layers, compared to 74.67% with 5 layers and 83.19% with 10 layers. The increase in mesh layers enlarged the surface area of the substrate, enhancing the reaction area and interaction between pollutants and the photocatalyst. This study suggests using more than 10 layers of stainless steel mesh in the PCO system design to achieve optimal performance in formaldehyde pollutant reduction. The findings are expected to contribute significantly to improving indoor air quality, particularly in areas exposed to pollutants such as cigarette smoke.
