Abstract

The sorogan method is considered a very effective learning method in the yellow book education process in Pondok Pesantren, because the implementation of the sorogan technique is based on the main purpose of accuracy in reading, accuracy in understanding the content, and accuracy in revealing the contents of the reading. The application of this sorogan method in Pondok Pesantren prioritizes strong emotional relationships and deep observations between educators and students. Field studies incorporate research. Observation, recording, and interviewing are techniques used by researchers. Qualitative approaches are also carried out in data analysis. The students of Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Al Mahrusiyah who learned to read the yellow book could benefit greatly from Sorogan's approach, according to the study findings.

Abstract

The recent decline in student human resources with character and morality is one of the weaknesses in the development of student education in the field of character education. Character and morals education which is one of the reasons for producing quality generations who have character and morals as well as good social skills have recently been neglected in the world of education. This may be due to the difficulty of implementing character education for students because there is no reference to a concept that can guarantee the creation of students with good character and good morals. The progress of the world of Islamic education during the Abasiyah dynasty, to be precise in the leadership of the caliph al-Mamun, should be a role model and example for educators in this modern era so that today's education does not only prioritize cognitive and affective aspects, but also puts forward aspects of moral education that can print generation of human beings with character and virtuousness. From here we know that the deepening and study of models, as well as the concepts used by the salaf scholars in conducting character education.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of project-based learning on children’s social-emotional development and children’s fine motoric development. This study uses a Quasi-Experimental Design. Control-Group Design (Pre-test and Post Test) or Nonequivalent [Pretest and Post Test] Control-Group Design, the experimental group (A) and the control group (B), were selected without a random assignment procedure. In these two groups, both pretest and posttest were carried out. Only the experimental group (A) was treated. This research was conducted at RA Uniform Debit and RA Kusuma Mulia, Ngino, Plemahan, Kediri. Data were collected using observation sheets, descriptive statistical data analysis, and paired t-test with alpha <0.05.  Based on the results of different tests with the Paired t-test, the Sig. As much as 0.000, where this value is less than 0.05, reject H1 and accept H0, there are differences in social-emotional development and fine motor skills between before (pretest) and after (posttest) getting project-based learning the experimental group and the control group. The average value shows that the social-emotional development after being given the Project-Based learning was more significant than the social-emotional development, namely 26.03> 20.44 in the experimental group and 22.10> 20.23 in the control group. Likewise, fine motor development before being given the Project-Based learning, namely 14.97> 11.84 in the experimental group and 13.03> 11.97 in the control group. This means that the project-based learning given to RA students in Plemahan, Kediri is more effective than learning in the control group.

Abstract

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in early childhood education (PAUD) holds significant potential to enhance learning but also presents substantial ethical challenges. This study focuses on four key issues: children's data privacy, algorithmic bias in AI, reliance on technology and its impact on social interactions, and the digital divide, which hinder the fair and effective implementation of AI. Using a literature review method, this research integrates analyses from scholarly journals, books, and relevant reports to explore these challenges. The findings reveal that protecting children's data requires stricter regulations; algorithmic bias can be addressed through inclusive design; technology reliance must be balanced with social interaction-based approaches; and the digital divide calls for equitable infrastructure interventions. This study underscores the importance of ethical and strategic approaches in transforming AI-based early childhood education to holistically support children's development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning based on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) in improving problem-solving abilities in children aged 5–6 years at RA Roudlotul Huda Baleturi Prambon. This research employs classroom action research (CAR) with a cyclical design consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The pre-survey conducted on February 5, 2024, showed that 50% of the children still had difficulty solving everyday problems and tended to rely on others. In Cycle 1, out of 12 students, 7 students (58%) showed expected development, and 5 students (42%) were beginning to develop, with an average class score of 9.25. In Cycle 2, there was a significant improvement, with 10 students (83%) achieving very good development and 2 students (17%) showing expected development. Based on the results, it can be concluded that STEAM learning based on HOTS is effective in improving early childhood problem-solving skills, with active teacher involvement and the use of engaging media as supporting success factors. This study recommends the application of similar learning models in early childhood education to foster children's critical and creative thinking skills
