This study uses a PLA+ filament from the Sugoi brand with a nozzle of 0.4 mm, diameter filament 1,75 mm, 3D Printer with Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology used is Creality Ender 3 V2 with process parameter settings in slicing software using a layer thickness of 0.30 mm, Top solid Layer 5, Bottom Solid Layer 5, Fill density 100%, cooling speed 100%, and flowrate 100%, nozzle temperature 205°C, and bed temperature 60°C. Variation in angle Part build Z-direction is proven to have a significant difference in Tensile strength with a difference of 10° resulting in a difference in Tensile strength of 15 MPa, where the highest tensile strength is 67.50 MPa with part build Z-direction at an angle of 80°, and the lowest tensile strength of 52.50 MPa with a Z-direction part build angle at an angle of 70°.

Abstract

Bengkel Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Sungailiat menyediakan layanan perbaikan alat produksi nelayan.

Abstract

Fishing has transformed from a traditional livelihood into an increasingly popular hobby among people, involving various age groups and locations. Fishing rods, as the main tool in the fishing process, function to catch fish by reducing the load and providing lifting power. This study aims to explore the use of resam fiber as an alternative material in making fishing rods, considering the limitations and high costs of graphite rods. The rod manufacturing process uses the Hand lay-up technique, where the resam fiber undergoes alkalization with 5% NaOH for 1, 2, and 3 hours, and variations in the number of fibers of 5, 10, and 15 strands. The results showed that specimens with 15 strands of fiber soaked for 2 hours produced the highest average tensile value of 44.6 MPa and the highest bending value of 57.6 MPa. This study shows the potential of resam fiber as a strong and affordable material for making fishing rods, providing a better alternative to graphite rods available on the market.

Abstract

This research aims to obtain the appropriate composition in the production of alternative materials for fishing rods with fiber-resin reinforcement, as well as to determine the tensile and bending test results for the alternative material to be used as fishing rods. This study uses a full factorial method to determine the number of spesimens to be made, with variations in fiber-resin composition: the number of fibers used is 5, 10, and 15 strands, with a resin-to-catalyst ratio of 50:1 and drying times of 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours. Tensile strength tests were performed on 9 spesimens with 3 replications, and bending tests were conducted on 9 spesimens with 3 replications per spesimen, resulting in a total of 54 spesimens tested. Based on the best tensile test results, the spesimen with 15 strands of fiber soaked for 2 hours in a 5% NaOH solution achieved a tensile strength of 46.2 MPa, while the lowest tensile strength was obtained from the spesimen with 5 strands of fiber soaked for 2 hours, which was 19.9 MPa. The average tensile test results showed a maximum value of 38.4 MPa

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in the number and diameter of dimple holes on the stiffness of mild steel plates using the Dimple Dies Triangle Profile forming method. Plate stiffness is important for reducing vibrations, especially in vehicle components. The material used was a 0.6 mm thick galvanneal plate, with dimple diameters of 25 mm and 30 mm, and hole quantities of 16 and 20. Testing was conducted using a Vibroport 80 device to measure natural frequency as an indicator of stiffness. The experimental design employed the Taguchi method with an L4 orthogonal array to analyze the influence of each parameter. The results showed that the number of dimple holes significantly affected the plate’s natural frequency, while the dimple diameter had no significant effect. The optimal combination producing the highest stiffness was a 25 mm dimple diameter with 16 holes. ANOVA and S/N ratio analysis supported these findings, indicating that the number of holes contributed more than 90% to the variation. This research is expected to serve as a reference for developing stiffer and more vibration-resistant metal plate designs, particularly for automotive and other engineering structure applications.

Abstract

The digester machine is a critical unit in the palm oil processing industry, functioning to soften and mash palm fruit to enable optimal oil extraction. The reliability of this machine plays an important role in ensuring the continuity and efficiency of crude palm oil (CPO) production. This study aims to analyze the reliability of the digester machine at the CPO plant of PT MAS using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. Research data were obtained through direct field observation, interviews with operators and maintenance technicians, and analysis of historical machine failure data from January to December 2024. Each failure mode was evaluated based on severity, occurrence, and detection parameters to determine the Risk Priority Number (RPN), which was used to establish maintenance priorities. The results indicate that the Expeller Arm and Short Arm components have the highest RPN values, identifying them as the most critical components with the highest risk of failure. Based on these findings, maintenance recommendations and corrective actions focused on critical components are proposed to improve the reliability of the digester machine, reduce downtime, and support efficient and continuous CPO production at PT MAS
