Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to measure the risk associated with the financing assets of Islamic banks in Indonesia by examining the volatility of income generated, both at the level of individual assets and within a portfolio context..Design/methodology: This research adopts a quantitative approach through descriptive statistical methods. The analysis utilizes variance and standard deviation formulas to process historical data obtained from the official statistics of Islamic banking in Indonesia over the period 2015-2024.Findings: The findings indicate that portfolio diversification can reduce risk levels in Islamic bank financing assets. However, a high degree of correlation among financing instruments suggests that the diversification strategy may not be fully effective. This highlights the importance of asset selection and correlation analysis in constructing resilient Islamic finance portfolios.Practical implications: Periodic and empirical risk assessments are crucial for evaluating strategic vision within a risk management framework. This study reveals that diversification practices in Islamic banks in Indonesia are executed by considering risk-return deviation, particularly through high musyarakah allocations with low deviation rates. Equity-based financing demonstrates a safer deviation rate than fixed-based financing such as murabahah, istishna, and ijarah thereby offering an alternative allocation to secure portfolios.Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by offering an empirical evaluation of income volatility risks in Islamic banking financing assets. It critically assesses the implementation of diversification strategies, providing insights into their effectiveness and alignment with the foundational goals of Sharia-based financial risk management.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve the financial literacy of IPNU-IPPNU student members in Semarang City through financial management training. The activity focused on two main aspects: personal financial management, including budgeting, saving, basic investment, and debt control; and organizational financial management, including budgeting, recording financial transactions, and accountability reporting. The implementation consisted of three main stages: an initial survey to measure participants’ financial literacy, a two-day interactive workshop with practical exercises and case discussions, and an evaluation through post-tests and group interviews. The results showed a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in managing both personal and organizational finances. Moreover, participants demonstrated greater awareness of the importance of financial governance. This program demonstrates that brief yet structured financial literacy training can have a significant impact on knowledge and awareness, although sustained mentoring is necessary to ensure long-term behavioral change.

Abstract

In activities related to financial services, a Muslim has a tendency to choose Shariah-compliant services. The presence of digital banking services will certainly not escape this tendency but in a rational view, this tendency is often challenged. For this reason, research is needed that relates the behavior of a Muslim in choosing digital banking services that not only comply with sharia provisions but also provide benefits that can be felt directly. This study integrates the factors recognized in technology continuance theory with the prevailing values in Muslim behavior to provide results that match the digital characteristics of Islamic banking. Data were collected from 183 Muslim users of Islamic digital banking services in Java, Indonesia and then tested with structural equation modeling (SEM). The research findings show that sharia compliance and perceived usefulness directly have no effect on continuance intention to use Islamic digital banking services, but indirectly through attitude mediation, these two factors have a significant effect. In the direct effect, satisfaction is the most determinant factor in influencing continuance intention to use, while perceived usefulness is the most determinant factor in influencing attitude. Then in the indirect effect, attitude has a full mediation role on the effect of perceived usefulness on continuance intention to use, and partial mediation of the effect of sharia compliance on continuance intention to use
