Abstract

Meranti Islands is one of the coconut producing areas in Indonesia. Based on BPS data in 2021, coconut production in the area is around 29.26 tons. The high production of coconut has made the local government plan to build a small and medium industrial center to process the coconut. A small and medium industrial center that will be built requires a layout design for cocofiber and cocopeat factories. This study aims to provide the best proposed layout for the factory. The methods used are Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and Blocplan Algorithm. The resulting 3 alternative layouts of SLP method and 20 alternative layouts of blocplan algorithm are then selected to determine the most efficient alternative layout based on the smallest material handling cost. The results showed that the alternative layout of the SLP method results had a smaller inter-departmental distance than the blocplan alternative layout, which was around 89.51 m with a total material handling distance of 326.58 m for cocofiber and cocopeat products. This research shows that designing the layout of cocofiber and cocopeat factory facilities is more effective using the SLP method than Blocplan, because SLP considers more supporting factors.

Abstract

The increasing number of coffee shops in Pekanbaru city significantly makes Median Coffee and Eatery required to remain competitive by determining the right planning / strategy. In the last few months Median Coffee and Eatery has experienced a very significant decline in profits. This study aims to design alternative strategies by providing new innovations in developing and maintaining businesses using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) and Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) methods. Based on the results of calculations using the QSPM method, 7 alternative strategies were obtained, there are 3 priority strategies that have the highest TAS value, namely providing an attractive outdoor area (TAS 7.647), expanding indoor and parking areas (TAS 7.643), and optimizing promotional activities (TAS 7.559). This research is expected to be an evaluation and consideration for business owners so that Median Coffee and Eatery can increase sales.

Abstract

Kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja (K3) merupakan sarana untuk mencegah kecelakaan, cacat, dan kematian sebagai akibat dari kecelakaan kerja. Keselamatan Kerja (safety) merupakan suatu keadaan para pekerja terjamin keselamatan pada saat bekerja baik itu menggunakan mesin, pesawat, alat kerja, proses pengolahan juga tempat kerja dan lingkungannya juga terjamin. Penelitian ini dilakukan di PT. PJB Services PLTU Tembilahan bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis kecelakaan kerja dan meminimalisir terjadinya kecelakaan kerja pada proses produksi energi listrik. Analisa data dilakukan dengan teknik analisa data secara deskriptif dengan metode Hazard and operabilty (HAZOP). HAZOP adalah sebuah teknik analisis bahaya yang digunakan dalam mempersiapkan dan menetapkan keamanan pada sebuah sistem baru atau modifikasi untuk sebuah keberadaan potensi bahaya atau masalah operabilitasnya, maka tingkat bahaya dan resiko bahaya dilapangan dapat dianalisa dengan melalui analisa likelihood, consenquences, kemudian hasilnya dimasukkan kedalam skala Risk Matrix. Hasil dari penelitian, telah ditemukan bahwa sikap pekerja dalam bekerja memiliki tingkat risiko yang tinggi dan potensi bahaya yang kemudian digolongkan menjadi sumber bahaya yang memiliki resiko ekstrem, tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Adapun saran yang diberikan untuk mengatasi bahaya tersebut antara lain : penyediaan alat pelindung diri, dan sistem pemadam kebakaran pada masing – masing sektor di perushaan dan melakukan pelatihan pelatihan keselamatan dan kesehatan kepada para pekerja untuk mendapatkan tenaga kerja yang profesional dan paham terhadap penting nya kesehatan dan keselamatan Kerja.   Kata kunci: Likelihood, Consequences, Risk Matrix, Hazard and operability

Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the palm oil processing companies located in the Riau area. The purpose of this study was to determine the right type of machine maintenance, especially for the worm screw press, because this part often experiences wear and tear which affects the results of pressing palm oil into oil. Wear and tear can partially reduce the surface of the machine and affect the performance of each machine. The service life of the worm screw press provided by the manufacturer is 1000 hours. However, usage at the Sebanga Multi Sawit factory reaches 1300-1500 hours. This proves that there is a need for further studies on good maintenance methods on screw press machines. The calculation of the wear rate and the depth of wear is used to determine the amount of wear that occurs. Solutions that can be done are welding, pack carburizing, and flame hardening on the worm screw press.

Abstract

The cracker industry is a food processing industry that is spread across various regions in Indonesia, one of which is Small and Medium Industry (SMEs) Crackers ‘MIRASA’ Pekanbaru. At SMEs MIRASA Crackers there is a layout placement that is not in accordance with the production flow. This causes a decrease in productivity in SMEs where production activities become inefficient so that it takes a lot of time in the production process and there are bottlenecks at several stations. In designing the layout in this study, the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) and BLOCPLAN methods were used to produce a systematic and efficient layout in increasing productivity and minimising distance transfer at MIRASA Crackers. The results of the calculation of the total displacement distance with the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) method are 40.86 metres and 47.39 metres, while BLOCPLAN is 43.21 metres. From the results of these calculations, it is known that the proposed layout using the SLP method can minimise the path distance from the initial layout of 61.67 meters with a difference of 20.81 meters.

Abstract

Peniltian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan metode Rancang Bangun untuk mencari inovasi pada proses pemisah larutan kelapa dalam pembuatan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) menggunakan ampas kelapa, dengan fokus pada proses fermentasi saat memisahkan blondo, VCO, dan air. Metode ini terdiri dari 6 tahap: Identifikasi masalah, Analisis Kebutuhan, Perancangan Konseptual, Pengembangan Alat dan Uji Coba, Evaluasi, Pemeliharan dan Perbaikan, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggunakan ampas kelapa dalam proses fermentasi sebagai inovasi untuk efisiensi waktu proses fermentasi. Hasil peniltian ini menunjukkan bahwa menggunakan ampas kelapa dalam proses fermentasi pembuatan VCO sebagai sumber panas dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu sebesar 50%. Dengan hasil ini bisa meningkatkan produksi pembuatan VCO pada Usaha Kedai Pak Sutan dengan memanfaatkan ampas kelapa sebagai sumber panas dan juga ramah lingkungan.
