Abstract

Lean Construction (LC) presented innovative practices to maximize the production value and minimize the production waste during construction. The problem that frequently occurs in the project is delaying the schedule, leading to time and cost overrun. This research aims to eliminate waste that causes delay and inefficiency. Several LC techniques were carried out to improve the efficiency of this project, namely: Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to discover wastes and determine Process Efficiency Cycle (PCE); Waste Assessment Model (WAM) to identify the inter-relationship among wastes; Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram analysis to get the root cause of the waste.   Research results showed the three highest wastes: defect 14.06%, over production 21.44%, and the highest rank was unnecessary inventories 31.73%. After implementing LC techniques, the PCE increased from 72 % to 79%. The implication of this research is to provide recommendations to the project’s stakeholders in running the building construction to avoid delay and inefficiency.

Abstract

Intisari— Pembangunan rumah ditanah rawa atau lempung mempunyai daya dukung tanah yang relatife rendah. Diperlukan cerucuk untuk meningkatkan daya dukung tanah. Proses pemancangan yang manual menyulitkan pekerja dalam memancang cerucuk sehingga dibutuhkanya alat pemancang cerucuk pada tanah rawa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode phal & beitz untuk melakukan perancangan alat cerucuk. Terdapat beberapa tahapan yaitu, fase perumusan tugas, fase fungsional, fase perancangan bentuk produk/ desain, dan fase perancangan bentuk produk, dari metode tersebut didapatkan alat pemancang cerucuk jenis drop hammer dengan ukuran tinggi tiang 4,5 m dan ukuran tapak 2 x 1 m dengan bobot mencapai 100 kg. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan pada alat pemancang cerucuk didapatkan waktu yang lebih efisien sebesar 60,35%. Harapan untuk kedepanya semoga alat ini dapat dikembangkan dan dapat membantu pekerja dalam proses pemancangan cerucuk pada tanah rawa. Abstract— The construction of houses on swampy or clayey land poses challenges due to the relatively low soil bearing capacity. The use of piles is necessary to enhance the soil's bearing capacity. However, the manual process of driving piles proves to be difficult for workers, hence the need for a pile driving tool specifically designed for swampy terrain. This research utilizes the Phal & Beitz method to design the pile driving tool. The design process involves several stages, including task formulation, functional phase, product design/shape design phase, and product design phase. Through this method, a drop hammer type of pile driving tool with a pile height of 4.5 meters and a footprint size of 2 x 1 meters, weighing up to 100 kg, was obtained. Based on the testing conducted on the pile driving tool, a significant improvement in efficiency of 60.35% was achieved. The hope for the future is that this tool can be further developed and assist workers in the process of pile driving on swampy land.

Abstract

Marketing strategy is a plan that allows a company to optimize the use of its resources to achieve marketing and company goals. Tongla Coffee is a place for young people to hang out. But there are still some areas in Pekanbaru that don't know about Tongla coffee, therefore Tongla coffee needs better promotion using social media (Instagram) and distributing browsers to all people both in Pekanbaru city and outside. Based on the sales graph from 2022, sales at Coffee Tongla experience fluctuations, namely sales experience ups and downs or are erratic every month. Customer data on consumers in January the sales target reached IDR 4,542,000, then decreased in February to reach IDR 3,375,000 and so on. This research must be able to answer the company's external and internal factors to achieve its goals, namely using the SWOT method. The SWOT method is needed as a first step in identifying and formulating several alternative company strategies based on the realities experienced by the company. The application of the Internal-External Matrix was carried out to carry out a detailed position analysis on Coffee Tongla, as well as to determine the right strategy. The results of this matrix are obtained from the IFE and EFE Matrix scores. Based on the results of score processing, the IFE Matrix obtained a score of 3.056 and the EFE Matrix obtained a score of 2.99. Using the IE Matrix, Tongla Coffee is in quadrant IV.

Abstract

Implementing a maintenance system in production has a strategic role in maintaining machine performance and preventing bottlenecks. This research focuses on pulp pump machine maintenance problems in paper mills, which cause time delays and decreased performance. The Pulp Pump Machine consists of three machines, including the 924 U 404 Pulp Machine Pump Unit, the 825 M 576 Pulp Machine Pump Unit, and the 825 M 550 Pulp Machine Pump Unit. Lack of intensive maintenance results in component damage such as leaking mechanical seals, oil seals that often leak, loose bearings, and impeller wear. As a result, the machine does not operate optimally, produces defective products, and is detrimental to the company. This research aims to identify critical components and recommend actions using the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach. Pump Unit 924 U 404 Pulp Machine showed the largest contribution to damage, reaching a total of 33 incidents (50%). Pulp pump machine components include bearings, mechanical seals, wear rings, shafts, vanes and impellers. From the FMEA calculations, the highest ranking results were obtained, namely the Shaft component with an RPN value of 240, then Bearings with an RPN value of 200, Vane with an RPN value of 192. From the LTA (Logic Tree Analysis) analysis there are 3 critical components, namely shaft, bearing, and vane. The selected distribution uses a normal distribution with the recommended action selected, namely Time Directed (TD).

Abstract

Peniltian ini mengeksplorasi penerapan metode Rancang Bangun untuk mencari inovasi pada proses pemisah larutan kelapa dalam pembuatan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) menggunakan ampas kelapa, dengan fokus pada proses fermentasi saat memisahkan blondo, VCO, dan air. Metode ini terdiri dari 6 tahap: Identifikasi masalah, Analisis Kebutuhan, Perancangan Konseptual, Pengembangan Alat dan Uji Coba, Evaluasi, Pemeliharan dan Perbaikan, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggunakan ampas kelapa dalam proses fermentasi sebagai inovasi untuk efisiensi waktu proses fermentasi. Hasil peniltian ini menunjukkan bahwa menggunakan ampas kelapa dalam proses fermentasi pembuatan VCO sebagai sumber panas dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu sebesar 50%. Dengan hasil ini bisa meningkatkan produksi pembuatan VCO pada Usaha Kedai Pak Sutan dengan memanfaatkan ampas kelapa sebagai sumber panas dan juga ramah lingkungan.
