Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that contributes to the highest number of causes of death in the world. People with hypertension are at risk of experiencing disturbances in several body functions such as the heart, blood vessels, brain, and so on. Therefore, it is important to make efforts to prevent hypertension or complications with health education. The education provided can use the diactive method supplemented by poster media, that can provides an attraction for participants to understand the education delivered. Objective: To determine the effect of health education given using the didactic method and media posters on the level of knowledge in preventing hypertension. Methods: This study used the pre-experimental method with a one group pre and post-test design without a control group. The population is all the people of Gamhoku Village aged from 18-70 years, totaling 440 people. Sampling using purposive sampling method, with the formula Arikunto obtained a total sample of 110 people. The instruments used were knowledge questionnaires and media posters. Providing education which was given once, while the poster media was left to the respondents. Knowledge level measurements were carried out before education, and 3 days after education was given. Results: Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test found p-value = 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion: There is a significant influence in the provision of health education using the didactic method and media posters, on the level of knowledge in preventing hypertension in Gamhoku Village, Tobelo Selatan District.

Abstract

Background: The quality of life of the elderly is a complex component which includes life expectancy, satisfaction with life in terms of health, physical and mental, cognitive function, income, living conditions, social support and social networks in daily life. When there are limitations in fulfilling the needs independently of the elderly, the quality of life of the elderly will decrease. Objective: To determine the relationship between elderly independence and the quality of life of elderly people in South Koha Village. Method: This research is quantitative research with a correlation research design. The research was carried out in South Koha Village. Village. The population is all elderly people who live in South Koha Village and sampling used a total sampling of n = 101 respondents. The instruments used are the Barthel Index and Older People Quality of Life (OPQOL-Brief). Results: Based on the results of the Spearman's rho test analysis, it was found that p value = 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between independence in carrying out activities and the quality of life of elderly people in South Koha Village. Therefore, it is important to be able to modify everything that can help elderly people to be able to meet their needs independently.

Abstract

Introduction: Non-infectious degenerative diseases such as gout arthritis usually last a long time and are often found in young people and the elderly. Self-efficacy can be defined as belief in one’s ability to perform a task with the desired result. Ergonomic exercise is given 3 times a week to patients with gout arthritis as a non-pharmacological therapy to reduce uric acid levels. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of ergonomic exercise on Self-efficacy and uric acid levels in gout arthritis sufferers in Tateli Tiga Village, Mandolang District, Minahasa District. Method: This study used a quasy experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population of gout arthritis sufferers at the Tateli Health Center and the people of Tateli Tiga Village, Mandolang District, Minahasa Regency is 68 people. The sampling technique used is total sampling. Analysis using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The result of the analysis using the Wilcoxon test on uric acid levels before and after the intervention obtained a p-value of 0,000 (<0,05), and for Self-efficacy the results obtained a p-value of 0,000 (<0,05). Conclusions: There is a difference between ergonomic exercise on Self-efficacy and uric acid levels in gout arthritis sufferers before and after being given ergonomic exercise.
