Abstract

Efforts to preserve the Cultural Conservation are still being carried out, both by the government and by the wider community. Rasuna Said house is a cultural heritage located in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province. Historically this building is the home of Rasuna Said who is a National Hero of Indonesia. To honor the struggle and preserve the history of this house, in 2017 the Indonesian government has designated Rasuna Said's house as a Cultural Heritage. However, the preservation of Rasuna Said's house has not been optimal, so the building of this house was found to be experiencing a lot of damage. Therefore, the researcher considers it necessary to carry out an Analysis of the Restoration of the Rasuna Said House as a Cultural Heritage Building, with the aim of knowing the level of damage and the causes of the damage. This study uses data collection methods through field observations and desk study methods, namely the method of collecting data through study and analysis of data and information using secondary data, either in the form of reports, references, or photos.  The analysis carried out is data processing to produce a plan document for the restoration of the Cultural Conservation building by considering the data on measurements, descriptions, identification, photography and research that has been carried out. This study found that the level of damage to Rasuna Said's house included light damage, and the cause of the damage was material age, termites and lack of maintenance. Furthermore, the results of this study can be used as a guide in repairing and preserving Rasuna Said's house, as well as being the basis for the preparation of a building restoration plan which includes the concept of restoration and restoration recommendations. Corrective measures can be taken in terms of structural repairs and architectural restoration.

Abstract

Along with the pace of community development, Islamic boarding school education, both in terms of location, form and substance, has undergone many changes. Islamic boarding schools are no longer as simple as people describe them. Islamic boarding schools can experience changes according to the growth and development of the times. One of them is the khalafiyah or modern pesantren, which implements a classical teaching system by providing general knowledge and religious knowledge, as well as providing skills education. One of the Islamic boarding schools that use this education system is the Al Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in Jambi City. The considerations made are related to the behavior patterns of MI students which need to be reformed and improved for the progress of Islamic boarding schools by applying patterns that are appropriate to student behavior. This study aims to obtain a good arrangement of spatial patterns for students to learn. The method is done by taking a simple random sample or called simple random sampling. The results of the study provide recommendations for design patterns that can be applied in the interior space.

Abstract

Market atmosphere is an important aspect that must be considered by architects, market managers, and traders so that buyers feel comfortable and safe in the market. The market atmosphere will have an impact on the interests and behaviour of buyers. Previous research on market atmosphere failed to pay attention to traditional markets. The traditional market is still an important medium interaction for social and cultural gatherings and meeting demand and supply. This study aims to describe the atmosphere component of a traditional shop/market in Painan, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Using six components identified through a comprehensive literature review: Market cleanliness, Market scent, Air conditioning, Lighting, Colouring, and the appearance and layout of the building. Buyers in the market are used as respondents. Research data is primary data obtained through surveys. The analysis method uses descriptive and comparative analysis methods. A total of 71 buyers participated in this study. The results showed that the atmosphere of traditional shops/markets was inadequate both from the components of cleanliness, smell, air conditions, lighting, colouring, and the appearance and layout of the building. After testing the difference between sex and education level, only one component significantly differed between men and women (lighting) and education level (colouring). The research suggests that the government should revitalize the Painan traditional market into a highly attractive market to remain competitive in the era of the industry revolution 4.0.

Abstract

The design of inpatient rooms plays a crucial role in enhancing patient comfort and supporting the healing process. Although Indonesia's healthcare regulations have promoted standardized inpatient care through the National Health Insurance (JKN) scheme, the implementation of design elements that consider patients’ psychological and physiological needs remains suboptimal. This study aims to examine the influence of inpatient room design on patient experience and recovery outcomes by applying the Evidence-Based Design (EBD) framework and Ulrich’s Supportive Design Theory, which emphasizes three core aspects: perceived control, social support, and positive distraction. The research was conducted at Santa Maria Hospital in Pekanbaru using a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from Likert-scale surveys and qualitative data from interviews analyzed thematically. Findings reveal that physical elements of the inpatient room—such as natural lighting, environmental control, and indoor air quality—significantly affect patient satisfaction and healing outcomes. Moreover, noticeable differences were identified among class III patients based on room orientation and access to daylight. This study contributes to the development of more adaptive and human-centered healthcare design and supports the implementation of national policies on standardized inpatient services.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the spatial efficiency and sustainable site development of the Poltekkes Riau Tower, a vertical educational facility, using the Greenship New Building Version 1.2 framework established by the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). It focuses on the Appropriate Site Development (ASD) category and assesses green area ratio, site selection, accessibility, transportation, landscape quality, microclimate control, and stormwater management. The building scored 5 out of 17 points (29.4%), indicating shortcomings in bicycle access, landscaping, and runoff mitigation. The evaluation process involves four key steps: (1) Scoring Analysis, which quantifies compliance with the Greenship criteria; (2) Spatial Mapping of green cover, access, and hydrology based on site plans and field data; (3) Gap Identification, which compares actual conditions with benchmarks; and (4) Recommendation Formulation to enhance sustainability through passive design, landscape optimization, and integrated stormwater systems. The findings provide insights for improving site sustainability in future vertical educational buildings located in tropical urban settings.
