Abstract

This study explored the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka (KM) in Indonesian Islamic schools (Madrasahs) by analyzing the compatibility of its implementation with Islamic educational values and its challenges and opportunities. The primary aims are to determine the alignment between KM principles and Islamic education, examine obstacles and recommend ways to effectively implement it in Madrasahs. This research synthesizes several academic articles, government policy documents, historical texts, and literature on curriculum development based on library research methods. Content analysis is used to uncover underlying themes, comparative analysis is used to assess compatibility with the curriculum, and critical evaluation is used to assess KM's impact on Islamic education. One key finding revealed is that the features of KM, such as student-centred learning, critical thinking and the development of student character, correspond well with the holistic goals of Islamic education. Nevertheless, major obstacles exist, such as a lack of teacher preparation, resource gaps, and tensions between KM's flexible approaches and Madrasah's traditional frameworks. Despite these challenges, KM presents opportunities for integrating secular and religious education, fostering inclusivity, and promoting innovative teaching practices. KM holds transformative potential in Madrasahs as it can integrate national education reforms with basic Islamic concepts. That would necessitate personalized teacher training, collaborative policy development and tailoring of curriculum for local contexts. Future research has the potential to yield a longitudinal insight into adoption across diverse demographics in different Islamic educational contexts.

Abstract

The discipline of group B students at the Dharma Wanita Bendunganjati Kindergarten, which had not developed effectively, served as the driving force for this study. The pretest findings, which indicate that 12 of the 19 children's disciplines still meet the criterion for not progressing, are evidence of this. An experimental research model is combined with a quantitative research method to conduct this study. One group pretest-posttest, or one group study with a sample of 19 children, was the type of experiment that was used in this work. This is evident from the average improvement in children's discipline before and after therapy, which is 26.6 to 55.1, based on the research results, sig < 0.05, or 0.000. Therefore, H0 is refused, and H1 is approved, indicating that rewarding children with star stickers impacts their behavior both before and after therapy. Based on the conducted research, it can be inferred that rewarding group B children at Dharma Wanita Bendunganjati Kindergarten with star stickers affects their behavior.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze Arabic learning strategies used in the department of early childhood Islamic education, semester I, KH. Abdul Chalim Institute. Qualitative research methods were applied to describe behaviors, events, and learning contexts in detail. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, with the main informants consisting of lecturers and students. The results showed that strategies such as the expository method, sam`iyah wasyafawiyah, and mubasyaroh were effective in improving students' speaking and reading skills. Supporting factors include the availability of relevant teaching materials and the strong religious background of the students. Conversely, barriers identified include students' lack of confidence in speaking Arabic and limited resources. The findings underscore the importance of planning and implementing structured and contextualized learning strategies. This study makes an important contribution to the development of Arabic language learning strategies in Islamic educational settings, as well as a reference for further research in this field. Hopefully, the results of this study can assist educational institutions in improving the quality of Arabic language teaching, preparing students to face academic challenges with more confidence, and achieving optimal learning objectives.
