Abstract

Background: Non-communicable diseases are one of the groups of diseases with the highest causes of death in the world. This was shown by data from WHO that in 2023, around 74 percent of the causes of death in the world are non-communicable diseases that kill 41 million people per year. This is due to the lack of public understanding of the influence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases on the incidence of non-communicable diseases and complications that can be caused by non-communicable diseases. Therefore, the use of traditional Indonesian fairy tale symbols in health promotion media to prevent non-communicable diseases can be used as an alternative solution to overcoming this challenge. Aims: This study aims to identify, examine, and synthesize symbols in traditional Indonesian fairy tales that have the potential to they can be developed to improve health messages to prevent noncommunicable diseases, especially diabetes mellitus and hypertension. Method: The method used in this study was a Literature Review with a narrative review study design. The steps taken are to gather all the fairy tales with inclusion criteria are fairy tales that have symbols about non-communicable diseases and exclusion criteria are incomplete fairy tales, and then do the screening, identifying symbols, analyzing symbols, and selecting potential symbols. Results: Of the 21 relevant titles of Indonesian traditional fairy tales and legends, 85 symbols were identified. From the analysis of the meaning of each symbol, 16 symbols were found that have the potential to be used as promotions for the prevention of non-communicable diseases, diabetes mellitus, and hypertension, with 10 different symbol categories spread across 7 provinces in Indonesia. Conclusion: There are many symbols from traditional Indonesian fairy tales that have the potential to they can be used to increase the effectiveness of delivering health messages as an effort to promote the prevention of non-communicable diseases diabetes mellitus and hypertension. These symbols can be made into health messages nationally and can be flexibly used to create health messages in each region.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ratio of health promotion to knowledge about breast Cancer and breasts Cancer early detection skills (BE AWARE) in adolescent girls at Jatiling Jambi Health Polytechnic Year 2016. This type of research is quasi experimental with non-randomized pre-test-post-test group design. Instruments used are Instruments test knowledge about breast cancer and test instruments BSE skills. Data analysis was performed multivariate (MANOVA) and paired samples T-Test and independent samples T-Test. The results of the study were (1) there was a difference in knowledge about breast cancer between the groups that were given health promotion using leaflets with the group that was given health promotion using video, video media is better and gives more dominant influence to the knowledge aspects of breast cancer. Differences in breast cancer early detection skills (BSE) between health-promoted groups used leaflets and health-promoted groups used better videos media and more dominant influence on aspect of girls' breasts self- examination. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of videos US a media of health promotion is better than the use of leaflets to increase knowledge about breasts cancer and girls skills in early detection of breast cancer, so educators can make the video as an alternatives tools in providing learning to students.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kepatuhan medikasi pada lansia dengan hipertensi sangat penting untuk mencegah komplikasi dan menurunkan hospitalisasi, namun tingkat kepatuhan medikasi pada pasien hipertensi khususnya lansia masih rendah sehingga diperlukan suatu upaya untuk mengatasi hal tersebut melalui pendidikan kesehan. Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran peningkatan pengetahuan dan tindakan kepatuhan medikasi melalui edukasi Emotional Demonstration (Emo Demo) pada lansia hipertensi di Aceh Besar. Metode: Metode kegiatan dimulai dengan pengumpulan data melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD) pada sepuluh lansia hipertensi serta wawancara pada bidan desa dan kader posyandu lansia. Kegiatan implementasi berupa edukasi Emo-Demo, evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Analisa data menggunakan analisa univariat dan uji Paired T Test. Hasil: Hasil uji univariat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan dari 63,15 % menjadi 78,95 % serta peningkatan tindakan kepatuhan dari 36,8% menjadi 57,8%. Hasil uji Paired T Test didapatkan hasil bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan Emo-Demo dengan nilai pengetahuan sebesar 0.016 serta tindakan kepatuhan 0,011. Rekomendasi: Metode Emo Demo ini direkomendasikan untuk terus digunakan dalam program edukasi kesehatan, terutama bagi lansia, guna meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepatuhan dalam pengobatan penyakit kronis.
