Abstract

Free radicals play an important role in some pathogenesis of serious diseases, such as neurodegenerative disorders, cancer,liver cirrhosis, cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, cataracts, diabetes and inflammation. Compounds that can scavengefree radicals have great potential in ameliorating these diseases. It is reported that phenolic compounds in plants possessstrong antioxidant activity and may help to protect cells against the oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Previousstudy revealed that mangrove trees, Sonneratia alba Bark showed strong antioxidant activity. Ethyl acetate fractionexhibited the best antioxidant performance. The antioxidant activity of this fraction was attributed to the presence ofcompounds of different polarities such as phenolics. Furthermore, the phenolic antioxidant of ethyl acetate fraction werepurified and identified with UV, IR, MS, and 2D NMR spectrometry. 3,3’-di-O-methylellagic acid was found in brownamourphous powder. Antioxidant activity was evaluated and compared with L-(+)-ascorbic acid as standard by usingDPPH assay. The compound has strong antioxidant activity than ascorbic acid standar with the value of IC 50 11.35 and17.64 μg/mL, respectively. The high value of antioxidant activity of compound indicate that S. alba is a potential source ofnatural antioxidant agent.

Abstract

DOWNLOAD PDFThe aim of this research was to examine the total phenolic content and radical scavenging capacity related to antioxidant potential in different fractions of methanolic extract of mangroves trees, Sonneratia alba bark. Total phenolic content was determined by the  Folin-Ciocalteau method.  Antioxidant  potential  has  been determined  as  the  free radical scavenging ability using a stable radical, diphenyl-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH). Three fractions  of methanol extracts of S. alba were subjected to free radical scavenging activity in order to evaluate their antioxidant activity. The free radical scavenging activity of different fractions obtained from successive fractionation of methanol extracts with organic solvents of different polarities; hexane, chloroform, and ethyl acetate. Total phenolics content of three fraction and crude extract are 17.84 ±0.974, 156.310 ±0.703, 226.89 ±0.605, 249.56  ±0942 (GAE ?g/g) respectively for hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and crude extracts (methanol extract). Antioxidant assay showed that the ethyl acetate and chloroform fractions have the high activity with IC50 10.27 ?g/ml and 27.34 ?g/ml, respectively, while  a weak activity was showed by hexane fraction with 147 ?g/ml. Linear correlation between the total antioxidant capacity of the fractions and the total phenolic contents was observed (r2=0.918). This data indicated that the antioxidant activity  mainly due to phenolic compound contain in those fraction. The results indicate promising S.alba or the utilization as significant source of natural antioxidant. Key words: Sonneratia alba,  total phenolics,  radical scavenging activity, antioxidant,  DPPH

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik zeolit alam Toraja dan kemampuannya dalam menurunkan jumlah ion Ca2+ pada air  tanah (sumber mata air Citta kabupaten Soppeng). Penentuan jumlah ion Ca2+ menggunakan fotometri nyala, waktu kontak optimum menggunakan metode batch dengan variasi waktu yaitu 20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 menit, penentuan kapasitas tukar kation (KTK) dengan variasi konsentrasi ion Ca2+ 120, 150, 180, 210, 240 ppm, dan penurunan jumlah ion Ca2+ menggunakan metode pertukaran ion yang berlangsung dengan model aliran dari atas ke bawah.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah ion Ca2+ dalam air yang berasal dari Citta sebesar 129,53 ppm, waktu kontak optimum tercapai pada menit ke-60, KTK terhadap ion Ca2+  sebesar 13,35 mEq/100 gr zeolit, dan zeolit alam Toraja dapat menurunkan jumlah ion Ca2+ hingga 104,29 ppm pada perbandingan zeolit : air sebesar 1:200.Kata Kunci: ion Ca2+, Zeolit, KTK, Fotometri

Abstract

Four different organic solvents, methanol, N- heksana, kloroform, and etil acetate were used to extracted some bioactive compounds from bark of mangroves plant Sonneratia alba (kayu buli) for screening of antibacterial activity against three pathogen bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus,Eschericha coli, and Bacillus subtillis by agar diffusion method. All extracts were able to inhibit the growth of these bacterial significantly in concentration of 5%. Etil acetate ekstract showed highest antibacterial activity.Methanol, chloroform, and etil acetate were effective solvent to extract bioactive compound that have a antibacterial properties from this plant.Keyword: Kayu buli, Sonneratia alba, antibacterial activity

Abstract

The implementation of this Community Parthnership Program, PkM aims to improve the understanding of SMAN Negeri 05 Tinggi Moncong teachers about the principles and steps of developing HOTS-based evaluation instruments, the format and components of HOTS-based evaluation instruments, and skilled in preparing HOTSbased evaluation instruments, with a minimum target of 90% of participants of PkM training is able to prepare evaluation instruments well. The implementation of this  activity involved three lecturers from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Makassar State University, with a background in chemistry and chemistry education. The method applied in the implementation of this PkM is by applying various methods of presentation or lectures, question and answer, discussion, and practice / performance. Then it was continued as an independent assignment outside the classroom for 5 days. All of these activities were carried out online due to the COVID 19 pandemic conditions. This activity succeeded in improving the ability of SMA 05 Tinggi Moncong teachers in developing HOTS-based evaluation instruments

Abstract

This study is a quasi-experimental research that aims to discover the effect of learning models and learning styles on learning outcomes of grade XI students of MIPA at SMAN 1 Kalukku. The independent variables in this study were the learning models and learning styles of students, and the dependent variable was the learning outcomes on Colloid System subject. The population of the study were students of grade XI MIPA at SMAN 1 Kalukku with the total of 7 classes. The sample of the study was determined by using random sampling technique consisted of 2 classes, namely Class XI MIPA 1 (Class A) and XI MIPA 3 (Class B). The research design employed factorial. The research data was obtained by giving a test of learning outcomes on Colloid System material in the form of a post-test consisted of 25 multiple-choice questions. The data analysis techniques used descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. Hypothesis testing was conducted with the F test (ANOVA) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of hypothesis testing with the F test prove that there is an influence of learning models on learning outcomes, there is an influence of learning styles on learning outcomes, and there is an influence of interaction between learning models and learning styles on learning outcomes of grade XI students of MIPA at SMAN 1 Kalukku, studies on Colloid System subject.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTelah dilakukan penelitian tentang pemanfaatan selulosa tongkol jagung pada pembuatan plastik biodegradable, untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi sorbitol terhadap sifat mekanik, biodegradabilitas dan ketahanan air. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap, yaitu preparasi bahan, pembuatan plastik dengan metode inversi fasa dengan variasi konsentasi plasticizer sorbitol, serta karakterisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan plasticizer sorbitol 30% menghasilkan plastik biodegradable yang lebih baik karena memiliki ketahanan air maksimum yaitu 28,38% dan terdegradasi 90.24% dalam waktu 9 hari. Kuat tarik plastik tertinggi diperoleh pada penambahan plasticizer sorbitol 10% yaitu 2,7750 MPa dan elongasi terbaik diperoleh pada penambahan  sorbitol 50% yaitu 16,94% . Hasil interpretasi gugus fungsi menggunakan spektrofotometer FTIR mengindikasikan adanya gugus OH pada bilangan gelombang 3417 cm-1, pada bilangan gelombang 2935 cm-1 menunjukkan adanya vibrasi CH2 yang merupakan kerangka pembangun struktur selulosa, gugus C-O nampak pada bilangan gelombang 1342 cm-1 dan 1209 cm-1 sedangkan gugus NH2 nampak pada bilangan gelombang 1641 cm-1. Berdasarkan data tersebut maka plastiik biodegradable tongkol jagung yang dihasilkan belum memenuhi SNI.Kata kunci: Plastik, Biodegradable, Sorbitol, Jagung dan Selulosa ABSTRACTA study has been conducted on the utilization of corncob cellulose on synthesis biodegradable plastic. This study aims to determine the effect of plasticizer addition to mechanical properties, biodegradability and water resistance, and to know the right type of plasticizer to produce biodegradable plastic that suits SNI. This research was conducted in several stages, namely material preparation, biodegradable plastic making with phase inversion method with variation of plasticizer concentration of sorbitol, and characterization of biodegradable plastic. The results showed that the addition of 30% of sorbitol produced better biodegradable plastic than because it has maximum water resistance of 28,38 % and degradation 90,24% within 9 days while the highest plastic tensile strength is 2.7750 MPa with concentration of  sorbitol 10% and the best elongation of 16.94% concentration of  sorbitol 50%. Based on the analysis of functional groups using FTIR spectrophotometer, it can be seen the absorption of the wave number at 3417 cm-1 which indicates the presence of the OH group, the wave number at 2935 cm-1 indicates the existence of vibrations CH2 which is the building framework of cellulose structure, the CO group is seen at wave numbers 1342 cm-1 and 1209 cm-1 whereas NH2 groups at wavelength 1641 cm-1. Based on these data biodegradable plastic corncob do not meet SNI.Keywords: Plastics, Biodegradable, Sorbitol, Corn and Selulose

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini adalah penelitian eksplorasi yang bertujuan untuk mengisolasi senyawa metabolitsekunder yang terdapat dalam ekstrak n-heksana daun M Zapota yang berasal dari Kec.Tempe Kab. Wajo. Isolasi dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu maserasi, partisi dengan n-heksana, fraksinasi,uji kemurnian dan identifikasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh isolate murni berupa Kristal jarum berwarna putih bening. Hasil uji dengan pereaksi Liebermann-Buchard membentuk cincin biru menunjukkan positif steroid. Isolat diidentifikasi dengan menganalisis spektrum inframerah yang menunjukkan bilangan gelombang (cm-1) yakni: 1055,25 (C-O);1462,04 dan 1375,25 (CH2 dan CH3),1651,07 (C=C); 2965,87 (C-H);3437,15 (OH alkohol) Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan penelusuran literature, senyawa metabolit sekunder yang didapatkan  adalah senyawa golongan steroid.Kata kunci : Isolasi, M. zapota, Steroid. ABSTRACTThis study is exploratory research that aim to isolate the secondary  metabolite compound contained in the n-hexane extract of leaves of Manilkara Zapota from Kec Tempe.Kab. Wajo. Isolation is done in several stages, maceration, partitioning with n-hexane, fractionation, purity testing and identification. The test result with the Liebermann-Buchard reagent to form a blue ring indicated a positive steroid. Isolate was identified by analyzing the infrared spectrum which showed the wave number (cm-1) are: : 1055,25 (C-O);1462,04 and 1375,25 (CH2 and CH3),1651,07 (C=C); 2965,87 (C-H);3437,15 (OH alkohol. Abstract

Abstrak. Desa Pallatikang Kecamatan Pattalassang Kabupaten Gowa, sudah berlangsung selama 7 Tahun, Budidaya tanaman hias dan palawija  oleh Mitra kelompok tani Tamalayu  yang terletak di Dusun Borongloe Menurut salah satu  Pemilik usaha Tanaman hias Bapak Rahman, baik masa pandemic covid 19 maupun  sebelum pandemic Covid 19. Tingkat masyarakat untuk memelihara dan membeli tanaman pangan dan hias  saat pandemic covid 19, sangat tinggi, apalagi pengunjung yang dating saat ramai pada hari jumat, sabtu dan minggu. Jumlah yang berkunjung dan membeli sangat tinggi. Lokasi usaha tani untuk tanaman hias dan buah sangat dekat lokasi  Golf Pattalassang , dimana sering dilalui beberapa kendaraan yang mau bermain golf maupun berkunjung lokasi budiaya tanaman hias.  Tujuan khusus yang ingin dicapai Program Kemitraan Masyarakat  ini adalah melakukan penyuluhan dan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dan arang aktif, dan Melakukan upaya pemanfaatan limbah pertanian dengan teknologi pirolisis untuk pembuatan asap cair dan arang yang ada pada petani dan masyarakat disekitar lahan pertanian  (2) Menjalin kemitraan kelompok petani tanaman hias dengan dengan pihak terkait (Petani, Masyarakat dan kepala Desa) agar memanfaatkan limbah pertanian  untuk media tanam sebagai  produk yang ramah lingkungan berbasis sumber daya alam. Mitra yang bergerak dalam bidang budidaya tanaman hiasan, mengalami permasalahan prioritas mitra baik produksi maupun manajemen adalah dalam hal bibit tanaman yang langka dan unit, yang harus didatangkan dari luar Gowa Sulsel misalkan dari Tanaman hias dari Kabupaten sinjai, bahkan perlu mencari bibit yang unit dan langka ke Daerah lainserta perlu ada logo dan label kemasan untuk memudahkan pemasaran ke pembeli  proses fermentasi berupa limbah pertanian  untuk di diamkan selama 3 hari agar diperoleh produk pupuk cair dan pestisida nabati kemudian disemprotkan pada lahan pertanian Jenis luaran yang akan dihasilkan dari masing-masing solusi tersebut baik dalam segi produksi maupun manajemen usaha yang  jelas, terukur dan kuantitatif PKM ini  diharapkan memiliki pengetahuan (1). Mengembangkan kawasan pengolahan limbah pertanian berbasis sumber daya alam (2). Mengembangkan teknologi Asap cair dan Arang  limbah kayu  sebagai bahan bakar nabati (3). Meningkatkan produk  pupuk organik dan pestisida nabati dari campuran arang kompos, membuat drum pembakaran untuk menampung sekam padi, arang  daun bamboo, menampung air pada saat musim hujan, Artikel akan di publikasikan dalam jurnal Nasional Pengabdian yang Ber ISBN, Makalah  akan di seminar Nasional LP2M (Prosiding), media online, Video kegiatan dan pembentukan Desa Pallatikang  sebagai desa Tanaman Pangan dan hias berbasis Go Pass. Kata Kunci : Limbah pertanian, Pupuk Organik, Arang, Rak Bunga  dan e Pass

Abstract

Community Coconut farmers and mother of PKK Kel. Tonyamang Kec. Patampanua Pinrang Regency is generally do not have the knowledge and skills to process a considerable amount of coconut water waste in the area into useful materials such as food vinegar and ethanol, which can increase economic value, especially in the farming community in the area. The approach taken is to provide training and empowerment to mother of PKK and coconut farmers in the form of lectures and live demonstrations and practices at partner locations, on thecniq for processing coconut water waste into chemicals in the form of ethanol and food vinegar, so that they are skilled in conducting training and can develop further. The output of PKM is food vinegar and ethanol from high quality coconut water waste for the needs of the community in partner areas and can even be marketed to other regions.
