Abstract

The forced marriage and the arranged marriages theme currently become popular in literary works on millennial applications. The facility and privilege of the internet were virtual spaces that were not only a provider of reading materials but also a place for literary production itself such as Wattpad. My Lecturer My Husband, one of the famous Wattpad novels published in 2017, was the work of a Korean boyband fan from Indonesia named Gitlicious (pen name) who idolizes a Korean artist named Lay from the Exo group. In 2020, My Lecturer My Husband was adapted by a well-known producer, Monty Tiwa, into a web series that identified forms of female resistance and the negotiation process of men in forced marriage. Thus, this study aims to analyze forced marriage that reconstructs the negative stigma in Monty Tiwa's adaptation of Gitlicious’s My Lecturer My Husband. This study used the adaptation theory proposed by Linda Hutcheon (2006). To dismantle the ideology of the text, this research used the theory of Butler(1990), which was about the diversity of gender and sexuality expressions. From the results of the analysis, it was found that My Lecturer My Husband reflects the shift in the value of forced marriage contextually and commercially. Ideologically, the text adaptation of Monty Tiwa shows a shift in the stigma of forced marriage attached to the role of parents and a shift in the expression of husband and wife in forced marriage.

Abstract

AbstrakBerbicara perempuan merupakan sesuatu yang kompleks, salah satu permasalahan yang mendasar adalah stereotip yang dibangun oleh masyarakat Indonesia terhadap gender. Dengan meneliti novel Gadis Kretek karya Ratih Kumala, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi stereotip gender sebagai kritik terhadap ideologi mayoritas dalam institusi keluarga dan dunia bisnis yang masih melanggengkan wacana patriarki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teori naratologi Gerard Genette dan teori feminisme Ann Oakley yang berfokus pada gender sebagai konstruksi budaya. Fokalisasi dalam novel yang direpresentasikan oleh tokoh Lebas dan narator orang ketiga memperlihatkan teks menggugat pandangan negatif terhadap perempuan dan memperlihatkan perkembangan perempuan dalam dunia bisnis. Stereotip terhadap perempuan juga dihadirkan melalui komponen terkecil yaitu keluarga. Konstruksi resistensi perempuan merupakan upaya menggugat stereotip yang hadir dalam wacana dominasi melalui hubungan antara ibu dan anak perempuan serta perempuan dengan perempuan lainnya melalui proses pemberdayaan (empowerment).Kata-kata kunci:stereotip gender, resistensi perempuan, gadis kretek, budaya, pemberdayaan.AbstractTalking about women is a complex thing, one of the fundamental problems is the stereotype that is built by the Indonesian people towards gender. By examining Gadis Kretek novel by Ratih Kumala, the purpose of this study is to identify gender stereotypes as critique of the majority ideology in family institutions and the business world which still perpetuates patriarchal discourse. This study uses a qualitative method with Gerard Genette's narrative theory and Ann Oakley's feminist theory which focuses on gender as a cultural construct. The focalization in the novel, which is represented by the character Lebas and the third person narrator, shows the text challenging negative views of women and showing the development of women in the business world. Stereotypes against women are also presented through the smallest component, namely the family. The construction of women's resistance is an effort to challenge the stereotypes that are present in the discourse of domination through the relationship between mothers and daughters and women and other women through a process of empowerment.Keywords: gender stereotypes, women's resistance, gadis kretek, culture, empowerment.

Abstract

AbstractThe development of tourism today poses a significant problem in terms of environmental damage. The exploitation of tourism has had a negative impact on natural resources and the environment, especially in tropical countries such as Thailand. Although many beaches have become part of a highly protected national park, many tourists and divers still have access to some of these locations. The Beach (2000) is a film that explores the relationship between humans and nature. In The Beach, the main characters in the film are tourists or foreign backpackers who have ambivalence about treating nature. By examining the film The Beach (2000) by Danny Boyle, the purpose of this study is to identify the role of nature in building ecological balance through the Symbiocene ideology. This study uses a qualitative method with narrative theory and cinematography by Boggs and Petrie (2008) in analyze the structure of the text and then using Albrecht's ecocritical approach (2019) in analyze the ideology of the text that focuses on the concept of human and natural relations. In the film The Beach (2000), nature can be positioned as an object or subject. The positioning of nature reflects a critique of anthropocentrism because humans are faced with two choices: to be the preserver or the destroyer. One of the roles of nature in building ecological awareness is building symbiotic bonds through conservation efforts and building insight into environmental care. Green politics in films can also refer to the ecotourism movement devoted to travelers.Keywords: symbiocene, ecological balance, backpackers, green politics, ecotourism.

Abstract

The activity aims to introduce marketing strategies with the concept of school promotion through workshops (basic training) to increase students' interest in being creative through directed steps with strategic marketing concepts: awareness, interest, desire and action of customers or potential customers. The training activities were attended by 126 students of SMKN 2 Kalianda through product advertisement video sessions and digital marketing strategy sessions. The product advertising video training and digital marketing strategy went well and received a good reception from SMKN 2 Kalianda as a PKM partner at the Universitas Teknokrat Indonesia. The competencies expected after the training are knowledge, skills and attitudes for the knowledge, skill and attitude product advertisement video sessions sequentially with an average value of 88%, 88% and 81% respectively. It can be stated that the competence of students is good and good enough to master video product advertisements. As for the digital marketing strategy session after the training, namely knowledge, skills and attitudes respectively, the average values are 91%, 90% and 89%, respectively. It can be stated that the competence of students is very good for mastering digital marketing strategies. If we look at the enthusiasm of the participants, we conclude that students from vocational high schools have great potential for technology-based mastery and digital marketing systems

Abstract

− Mitra program PKM skema sekolah binaan ini adalah SMK N Padang Cermin yang berlokasi di Jl. Raya Way Ratai, Kel. Way Urang. Kec. Padang Cermin, Kabupaten Pesawaran. Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi merupakan fenomena yang sangat signifikan dalam era modern ini. Berbagai inovasi dan perubahan revolusioner terjadi di bidang teknologi informasi dalam waktu yang relatif singkat, seperti halnya Teknologi Cloud Computing. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan Teknologi Cloud Computing untuk Smart Digital dan Personal Branding kepada siswa SMKN 1 Padang Cermin. Melalui kegiatan yang dilakukan, siswa memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang konsep Cloud Computing, serta meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan kreativitas mereka melalui pengaplikasian Smart Digital Library dan Personal Branding. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 3 dosen dan 3 mahasiswa yang membantu. Pengenalan Cloud Computing untuk Smart Digital Librarydilakukan oleh Alvi Suhartanto yang menjelaskan arsitektur jaringan masa depan yang berfokus pada pengiriman data berdasarkan nama. Kegiatan ini membantu siswa memahami perkembangan teknologi dan meningkatkan minat mereka dalam bidang teknologi. Selanjutnya, Masnia Rahayu memaparkan secara teoris mengenai Personal Branding dan Donaya Pasha memberikan pengenalan dan pelatihan pengaplikasianPersonal Branding kepada siswa dengan memanfaatkan Cloud Computing. Melalui pemaparan materi dan penggunaan Cloud Computing, siswa dapat langsung mengenal dan mencoba Personal Branding di media sosial mereka. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa, mengembangkan kreativitas, dan memberikan pemahaman tentang implikasi sosial dan etika teknologi. SMKN 1 Padang Cermin mengapresiasi kegiatan ini karena dapat membantu siswa dalam pemahaman teknologi terbaru dan persiapan karir di industri teknologi.

Abstract

Melalui kegiatan yang dilakukan, siswa memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang konsep NDN dan Metaverse, serta meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan kreativitas mereka. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 3 dosen dan 3 mahasiswa yang membantu. Pengenalan NDN dilakukan oleh Alvi Suhartanto yang menjelaskan arsitektur jaringan masa depan yang berfokus pada pengiriman data berdasarkan nama. Kegiatan ini membantu siswa memahami perkembangan teknologi dan meningkatkan minat mereka dalam bidang teknologi. Selanjutnya, Donaya Pasha memberikan pengenalan dan pelatihan pengembangan metaverse kepada siswa. Melalui pemaparan materi dan demo penggunaan kacamata metaverse, siswa dapat langsung mengenal dan mencoba metaverse. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa, mengembangkan kreativitas, dan memberikan pemahaman tentang implikasi sosial dan etika teknologi. SMKN 1 Padang Cermin mengapresiasi kegiatan ini karena dapat membantu siswa dalam pemahaman teknologi terbaru dan persiapan karir di industri teknologi.

Abstract

The film Searching (2018) by Anesh Chaganty presents the reality of today's life, the life of real people who are very attached to activities in cyberspace through internet technology. All scenes in the film are depicted with computer/laptop screens, cctv, mobile phone cameras, and video-videos, so as to provide space for the audience as observers to see each scene presented. This study discusses how the personality structure of margot characters in the virtual world and the real world is reviewed from the interpretation of each scene through a narrative and cinematographic approach. The imbalance of personality structure for Freud will cause problems, so repression as a form of self-defense mechanism becomes an option for margot in self-balancing. The virtual world is a form of repression of Margot's character from all interactions and feelings faced in the real world. Social media plays a significant role in the process of individual development. The involvement of individuals in the real world and the virtual world is presented in the film Searching. There are differences in attitudes and feelings experienced by Margot's characters when interacting in the virtual world and the real world. The virtual world provides a space for him to explore himself, interact with his virtual friends, express his feelings, and keep all his memories of pleasure. This is contrary to the real world of Margot's character, in the film Margot limits her, keeps all her feelings and does not have good communication with her environment, including her own father.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan game edukasi kata hubung bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Tahap initiation mencakup penentuan konsep dasar game seperti jenis, desain, cara bermain, dan target pengguna. Selanjutnya, tahap pre-production berfokus pada perancangan storyboard yang mencakup genre, alur cerita, karakter, dan rintangan dalam game. Pada tahap production, dilakukan pembuatan aset, pengkodean, dan pengembangan game secara keseluruhan. Tahap testing melibatkan pengujian fitur menggunakan metode black box testing untuk memastikan fungsi berjalan dengan baik. Tahap beta merupakan uji coba oleh pengguna eksternal guna mengevaluasi kelayakan dan kenyamanan permainan. Terakhir, pada tahap release, game dinyatakan siap diluncurkan ke publik setelah melalui seluruh proses pengujian dan perbaikan. Hasil penelitian mengenai Game edukasi Kata Penghubung Bahasa Indonesia dikembangkan menggunakan Construct 2 dan Adobe Photoshop CS5, dengan menerapkan metode GDLC yang mencakup enam tahapan: initiation, pre-production, production, testing, beta, dan release. Pengujian menggunakan metode Black Box Testing menunjukkan hasil alpha berhasil dan beta memperoleh persentase keberhasilan 93,33%. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test di SD Negeri 1 Kedaton, terjadi peningkatan nilai dari 60,68 menjadi 94,48. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa game edukasi tersebut efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi kata hubung.Kata kunci: Game Edukasi, Bahasa Indonesia, Konjungsi

Abstract

Freud's psychoanalysis provides useful insights into how characters deal with internal conflict and emotional distress together. This study explores the animated film Luck (2022) through the perspective of Freud's psychoanalytic theory, with a particular emphasis on the psychological ego defense mechanisms. Freud's structural model of the human mind, which includes the id, ego, and superego, offers a framework for comprehending the character's ongoing misfortune. Sam, the protagonist, struggles with her insecurities and emotional problems, and her misfortune represents internal psychological conflicts. Sam's defense mechanisms, which include projection, displacement, and rationalization, protect her from emotional pain while fueling her desire for luck. The id fuels her desire to protect her friend Hazel from loneliness, whereas the ego helps her cope with failures through displacement and rationalization. The superego eventually leads her to self-acceptance and emotional maturity. The analysis redefines luck in the film as a metaphor for Sam's psychological journey, showing how she progresses from unconscious instinct to moral clarity, ultimately portraying luck as an expression of personal resilience and self-discovery.

Abstract

The connection between nature and Joy Harjo's American Indian poems is worth discussing because nature impacts human existence. To confirm and consider ideas about the environment, particularly the environment's vulnerability to human activity and exploitation, this study examines metaphorical language in some of Harjo's works. By examining the complex interactions between the environment and humans, this study advances our knowledge of how issues of ecology are portrayed in literature to promote environmental awareness. This research examines ecological themes in two American Indian poems by Joy Harjo, Talking with the Sun and Once the World Was Perfect, using Garrard's ecocritical theory and qualitative methodology. The research shows how Harjo's works demonstrate the detrimental effects of human activities on ecosystems and, as a result, criticize anthropocentrism through qualitative ecocritical analysis. Talking with the Sun explores the spiritual bond between humans and nature, while Once the World Was Perfect highlights the damages caused by environmental degradation and human exploitation. This research contributed to the discourse of ecocriticism by highlighting how literature can highlight issues of the environment.
