Abstract

This cross-sectional study aims to investigate a possible learning loss among 9th grade students in the English language learning by comparing pre-pandemic and during pandemic samples and to discover its correlation with a-year implementation of emergency remote teaching/learning. During the Covid-19 pandemic, school closures have restricted regular learning activities and changed into learning from individual homes revealing a learning disparity. Limited access to digital infrastructure and parents’ inexperience in supporting children’s learning particularly in the lower socio-economic class hamper the students’ academic achievement. There have been concerns about possible learning loss. Therefore, it is urgent to investigate the possible learning loss among 9 graders in the English classrooms during the emergency remote teaching. A quantitative study with a survey research design was applied. The data were obtained by implementing the 2019 English National Examination and a questionnaire. Eighty-one 9th grade students of a state school and seventeen of a private school in Indonesia participated in this study. The data were analyzed using SPSS to reveal the comparison and correlation. The findings reveal a significant decrease in the obtained exam scores of the current subjects indicating a learning loss in the state and private school. It shows a correlation between students’ autonomous learning and learning barriers with learning loss

Abstract

The increasingly fierce competition conditions pose its own problems for hospitals, namely how hospitals operate effectively and efficiently in order to survive and develop. The factor that needs attention from the hospital management is the desire of the patient to move to another hospital service or known as switching intention. Therefore, hospital management is required to be able to effectively manage all resources and, especially in the field of technology, so that hospital profitability does not fall. One form of technology utilization that is being widely developed for the health and hospital fields is telemedicine. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing and analyzing effect of telemedicine and service quality towards switching intention with patient satisfaction and patient trust as intervening variables. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive research method with a causal approach, with a sample of 335 respondents. Based on research findings, it is proven that there is a positive and significant influence of telemedicine on satisfaction and trust, service quality on inpatient satisfaction and trust, and there is a negative and significant influence of patient satisfaction and trust on switching intention at Class C Private General Hospitals in South Kalimantan. For this reason, it is necessary to increase the use of telemedicine between the hospital through doctors and patients or patients' families so that they can communicate online. Improvement in service quality also needs to be maintained and improved so that this can increase patient satisfaction and trust in the hospital.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the interest of high school and vocational school (SMA/SMK) students in pursuing further studies and careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Students’ lack of interest is often influenced by limited understanding of STEM’s role in daily life and insufficient information regarding study and career prospects. To address this, the team designed a participatory training program involving students from partner schools. The methods included interactive sessions, group discussions, project-based practices, and presentations on study and career opportunities. The results indicated improved student understanding of STEM concepts, increased motivation to explore the field, and stronger interest in considering STEM for future studies and careers. Teachers also gained new insights into STEM-based learning strategies applicable in classrooms. Thus, this training not only strengthened STEM literacy but also supported the development of education aligned with 21st-century demands.
