Abstract

The research aims to look at how much revenue from the hunting community actual sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei) and factors that affect people hunting sambar deer. The method used is the method descriptive with survey forms through interview techniques. Analysis of the data using two types of analysis, namely the descriptive to see income from the hunt sambar deer, the inferential analysis using the test - T (Paired samples T test) and multiple linear regression. There are differences in the actual income from the hunt sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei ) with earnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Test Results - t two variables ( Paired sample T-test ) there was significant difference between sambar deer hunting revenue swith arnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Chikuadarat test showed there was no significant difference in the level of motivation of the sambar deer hunt. Results showed linear statistical calculations 2 (three) independent variables affect the motivation of the sambar deer hunting community, accessibility (X3) and the level of know ledge (X4). Where as other variables did not affect the motivation of people like the sambar deer hunting income variable (X1), employment opportunities (X2), cosmopolitan (X5), hunting experience (X6), andage (X7). Abstract

Herpetofauna is fauna group consisting of reptiles and amphibians. This study aims to determine the diversity of herpetofauna at Lekawai Resort in Area Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park West Kalimantan . The method of data collection was done by using Visual Encounter Survey (VES) combining with of tracking systems. Herpetofauna found as many as 35 species which are divided into 24 kinds of amphibians and 11 species of reptiles. Air humidity ranged between 81 % - 85 %, air temperature 270C - 290C, water temperature 220C - 240C and pH of water 6. Highest species diversity index in aquatic habitats by H'= 0.996 and the lowest in terrestrial habitats that H'= 0.957. The highest evenness index in aquatic habitats that are e= 0.765 and lowest in terrestrial habitats is e= 0.724. However, the similarity index value types (S) between the two habitats is obtained with a value of 0.3. The highest abundance of amphibians in class Limnonectes kuhlii ie by 18 % . Relative abundance of reptiles found in the type of class Eutropis rudis of 5.4 %. The largest Chance encounter was belonged types Limnonectes kuhlii of 0.643 individuals / hour. Abstract

Forest is natural resource which is provide great benefit to human welfare, both perceived benefit directly or indirectly, forest has potential and function to maintain the environmental balance. Pelanduk (Tragulus sp) is one of the endangered species due to poaching and clearing of forest areas used for farming communities which causing loss of vegetation, loss of habitat and food sources for the pelanduk (Tragulus sp). The objective of this study is to find out pelanduk (Tragulus sp) habitat in protected areas of Ambawang Montain. This study was conducted using squares method by double plot and the laying of the first plot is conducted purposively. The observation plot is in shape of square 20 m x 20 m with 20 m spacing between plots systematically. The number of plots for the primary forest, secondary forest and community garden is 27 plots. The factors that were analyzed in this study were water, soil, air humidity, temperature and the vegetation of pelanduk (Tragulus sp). The highest INP was in the societys rubber plantation with INP 286,5911 %. Based on analisyis, the most preferred food by pelanduk (Tragulus sp) is simpur. The pandanus forest and resam is the best shelter for the pelanduk (Tragulus sp) and some of them are using the buttresses-tree. The analisyis of water shows that the water is still proper to use as a source of drinking water for the pelanduk (Tragulus sp). And based on the measurement of temperature and humidity, it is still appropriate to the existence of pelanduk (Tragulus sp). Key words : Habitat, Pelanduk (Tragulus sp), Protected forest

Abstract

Amphibians is one of all fauna constituent ecosystems and a part of biodiversity in aquatic habitat, terestrial and arboreal. The research aimed to determine diversity of amphibians species ordo Anura in the Gunung Semahung protected forest areas, Sengah Temila District, Landak Regency, West Borneo. This research has done on Februari 12th 2014 until Februari 30th 2014. The method used in this research is Visual Encounter Survey (VES) that combinated with track system by dividing three lines of aquatic habitats and three lines of terestrial habitats.  The number of species found were 18 species from 6 family with total of 357 individual. Data analysis showed species diversity index (H) the highest value on aquatic habitats 0,957 and the lowest on terestrial habitats 0,690. For evenness index (e), the highest value on aquatic habitats 0.835 and the lowest on terestrial habitats 0,76497. And for similarity index between the aquatic and terestrial habitats by S = 0.4% that means 40% both of amphibians species in both habitats are same and 60% are different. Species abundance showed that has the highest value is Meristogenys phaeomerus by 21%. the greatest chance encounter is Meristogenys phaeomerus  2.111 individuals per hour, this species the most lots of encounter on aquatic habitat. Most amphibians that were found more likely to sit and be quiet activities and there are some who speak out and there is also a mating activity that is Meristogenys phaemerus. Keywords: Amphibians, anura, species biversity, Semahung Mountain

Abstract

Forest City Gunung Sari has a potential that needs to be extracted and can be used for example to value the beauty that can be used as a tourist attraction. Bird was instrumental in building a tourist park because of its beauty is the value of voice and other fur. The beauty of birds of all he had to give a pleasure in itself. Based on the results of observations show that of the three habitats in the path of observation, obtained the number of diurnal birds have been found in the study site 18 species, classified into 13 families, namely : (Accipitridae), (Columbidae), (Aegithinidae), (Nectariniidae), (Dicaeidae), (Hirundinidae), (Estrildidae), (Psittaculidae), (Timaliidae), (Cisticolidae), (Passeridae), (Pycnonotidae), (Picidae). Primer forest habitats found in 13 species of diurnal birds, 12 species of secondary forest habitats and 9 species around the estate. From the calculation, the highest dominance index contained in the habitat surrounding forest plantations morning time C=0.1613, day time C=0.1458, and the afternoon time C=0.1264. While the species diversity index was highest in primary forest habitat value morning time =1.0531, day time =1.0397, =0.0260 late afternoon and secondary forest habitats have a high diversity index values in the morning with value of =1.0287. Habitat differences provide a clear influence of the dominant species, in which the dominance of this species is the opposite of diversity. Diversity of small species produce mastery of habitats, so that the dominance of the species will be spread more evenly due to the small number of species that might be the number of individuals to live and breed better.
