Abstract

Purik (Mitragyna sp), is one of the forestry plants that is currently cultivated and is the livelihood of the community, especially in Nanga Manday Village, Bika District, Kapuas Hulu Regency, when rubber prices dropped and fish catches were uncertain. The purpose of this study to answer how much the level of income, the value of the R / C ratio, Break Ivent Point (BEP) of production and prices as well as the factors that affect the level of community income. The methodology used is observation and structured interviews. Based on data analysis, the community income from Purik cultivation is Rp 10,658 / kg with an R / C ratio of 3.6 (>1) and the value of production BEP of 15.66 kg and the price BEP of Rp. 1,231 / kg. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis of income (profit) purik cultivation business as follows: Ŷ = 1.012 - 0.021X1 + 0.000X2 - 0.0004X3 + 0.006X4 - 1.090X5 - 1.107X6 - 0.011D with the results of the analysis determining the R Square number is .986 (98%).Keywords: income, Nanga Manday, purik cultivation

Abstract

Utilization of mangrove forest products both in the form of wood and non-timber products, and land clearing for agricultural land and ponds by the community around the mangrove forest without any effort to preserve the mangrove ecosystem makes the existence of mangrove forests in the village Tanjung Baik Budi many are damaged so that it reduces the area of mangrove forests and disrupts the ecosystem. This study aims to examine the public perception of the sustainability of mangrove forests, and analyze the relationship between the level of community dependence, level of knowledge, level of income and community perceptions of the sustainability of mangrove forests in the village Tanjung Baik Budi sub-district Matan Hilir Utara districts Ketapang. Data collection using methods Random Sampling with interview techniques and questionnaire tools. Correlation analysis Kendall Tau. The results of this study indicate that the public perception of the sustainability of mangrove forests has a positive perception. There is a positive and significant relationship between the level of knowledge, the level of dependence on mangrove forests and community perceptions. Abstract

society with mangrove forest ecosystem and brackish forest ecosystem that raises the existence of public awareness in preserving the function of mangrove forest and brackish forest. The method used is survey method with descriptive associative and used interview techniques with instrument a questionnaire. There are two types of data analysis namely  descriptive analysis used to see the general description characteristic of respondents and the level of public awareness and inferential analysis used to know different levels of income people who worked as fishermen and does not worked as fishermen by using independent sample t-test and  to know the factors that affect the level of public awareness by using multiple linear regression models. The level of public awareness coastal in preserving function mangrove forest and brackish forest is tend high. The results of independent sample t-test indicated there was no significant difference between the average income levels of  people who worked as fishermen with an average income levels of people who does not worked  as fishermen. Based on the analysis used multiple linear regression models was knowledge variables and cosmopolitan variables significantly influence the level of public awareness, while age variables, income variables, and perceptons variable were not significantly influence the level of public awareness. Abstract

Forest Sungai Utik subvillage is the first indigenous forest which receives ecolabel certification in Indonesia by sustainable forest management where this certification demonstrates the ability of communities in sustainable forest management. This study aims to determine the level of communities participation in the management of indigenous forest in Sungai Utik and analyze the impact of perception, age, education level, income level, long lived and the degree of dependence on the forest through the participation of indigenous communities in forest management in Sungai Utik subvillage. This research conducted by survey method, sampling is done by census respondents. Data ware taken for this study consisted of primary data and secondary data while the data analysis was done by descriptive and inferential (Linear Regression). The result of this study indicates that the participation of indigenous communities in forest management tend to be high, compared with the Arnstein theory community participation at the level of delegation of powers. There is a significant and positive impact that the level of income, level of perception and dependence of forest, whereas some which do not affect are level, age, education and length of stay. Abstract

This study aims to assess the level of society motivation for the planting of mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) in Sungai Enau Village, and assess the relationship between factors that influencing motivation and the level of society motivation on mahogany planting. The factors that affect society motivation are: (1) perception (2) knowledge (3) income, and (4) land area, so that to increase the income of the society from the economic side as well as doing a short-term or long-term of greening program in order to reduce deforestation in Kubu Raya Regency. This Study uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis, and using Kendall Tau correlation test which each of them given the weight of score and the result of observation data in the form likert scale quantized. The result of this study indicate that the society motivation on mahogany has moderat motivation level with frequency as much as 38 (76%), and there is no significant correlation between factors which influencing motivation with society motivation level on the planting of mahogany in Sungai Enau Village, Sub-district Kuala Mandor B Kubu Raya Regency.Keywords: Likert Scale, Mahogany Planting, Society Motivation

Abstract

A coastal ecosystem that must be maintained as a provider of natural resources and as a life support system is called a mangrove forest. There is a connection between the society and the presence of mangrove forests that can not be separated which causes a public perception of the existence of mangrove forests. This study aims to examine the social perceptions of the existence of mangrove forests and analyze the relationship between the level of education, income level, and the level of dependence on mangrove forests with social perceptions of the existence of mangrove forests in Dusun Besar village, Pulau Maya District, North Kayong Regency. This study uses a survey method with interviews and questionnaires containing several questions asked to respondents, and data collected by using purposive random sampling. Data is analyzed by using descriptive analysis of the Chi-Square test and inferential analysis using nonparametric statistical tests of the Kendall Tau correlation. The number of respondents in this study is 92 people from 1.118 KK. The results of this study indicate that society perceptions tend to be positive (53,26%), low-income levels (55,43%), and high levels of dependency (54,35%). There is a positive and insignificant relationship between the level of education and perception (sig (2-tailed) amount of 0,697, the score of the correlation coefficient is 0,037). There is a positive and significant relationship between the level of income and perception (sig (2-tailed) amount of 0,031, the score of the correlation coefficient is 0,183), and there is a positive and significant relationship between the level of dependency and perception (sig (2-tailed) amount of 0,000, the score of the correlation coefficient is 0,420).Keywords: Dusun Besar Village, mangrove forest, perception.

Abstract

The land conversion into oil palm plantations creates perception in the community. The aim of this research is to examine community perceptions on the conversion of land to oil palm plantations in Nanga Tayap Village, Nanga Tayap Sub-District, Ketapang District, and to examine the correlation between factors that influence communities on the conversion of land into oil palm plantations. Factors that influence the perceptions are: (1) level of knowledge (2) income and (3) land area. The researcher applied a descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using Pearson’s correlation test, in which each was given the score and observation result in Likert scale. The results of this research indicate peoples’ perceptions on the conversion is positive with frequency value of 34 (47.89%), the correlation between the level of knowledge and land area is significantly positive, it gives a significant value to the community perceptions towards the conversion of land into oil palm plantations. Whereas, community perceptions and income level correlation is positive but insignificant. It shows that as community get their high income from the conversion, their perceptions towards the conversion of land into oil palm plantations would be affirmative.Keywords: Community, Land Conversion, Oil Palm Plantation and Perception

Abstract

This research aims at finding out society’s perception and the correlation of the society’s perception towards mangrove eco-tourism existance in in Pasir village Mempawah sub-district Mempawah Regency about their income level, the number of their family dependents, the level of their dependence as well as their knowledge level toward mangrove. The descriptive result showed about the society’s perception on thier increased revenue that there were 84 respondents, in which (17,86%) or 15 respondent stated their perception that they had gained their increased revenue, (58,33%) or 49 respondents had not gained their increased revenue yet and (23,81%) or 20 respondents did not gain their increased revenue. The Society’s perception showed based on jobfield that 84 respondents, in which (29,76%) or 25 respondents stated that the existance of the mangrove eco-tourism had created jobfields, (53,57%) or 45 respondents stated it had not created the jobfields yet and (16,67%) or 14 respondents stated it did not create the jobfields. The society’s perception showed about business opportunity that 84 responden, in which (14,29%) or 12 respondent stated that it had provided business opportunity, (72,62%) or 61 respondent stated it had not provided it yet and (13,10%) or 11 respondents stated it did not provide it. It proved that the existance of the mangrove eco-tourism had not provided positive impact towards the society about their inome, jobield as well as business opportunity. The resulting study showed that the society’s perception towards between the income level and the number of family dependents had no significant correlation, which means they had no effect on the society’s perception to the existance of the mangrove eco-tourism. The society’s perception to the level of their dependence and their knowledge level, however, had a significant correlation, meaning that they provided a significant effect to the society about their perception towards the existance of the mangrove eco-tourism.Keywords: Existance, Mangrove eco-tourism, Perception.

Abstract

Perception is a process that involves the entry of messages or information into the human brain. Through perception, human could connect constantly with their environment. Peniraman Village has natural resource potential in the form of type C trenching (Stone and Soil) which gives rise to various perceptions from the community. This study aims to determine the community perception towards type C trenching activities in Peniraman Hill and find out the relationship between the level of education, income and cosmopolitan factors. This study uses a survey method with observation, interviews and questionnaires containing a number of questions asked to the respondents, The data is collected using purposive random sampling. Analysis of the data is using descriptive analysis of the chi square test and inferential analysis using nonparametric statistical tests of the Kendall Tau correlation. The respondents in this study is 68 people. The results of this study indicate that people's perceptions tend to be positive, the level of income level is low, the level of cosmopolitan is moderate. There is a positive and significant correlation between education level and perception, and there is no significant correlation and there is no relation between the level of income and cosmopolitan levels with the community perception.Keywords: Community Perception, Mining, Peniraman Village

Abstract

Tembawang forest is a land use system by local communities in West Kalimantan and has important role for viability of society, both in terms of economic, social, cultural and ecological. People who live around the forest tembawang mostly worked as a farmer with herd of tembawang forest products. The aim this research to knew about actual amount Perongkan village society revenue which sourced from tembawang forest products utilization, the degree of difference between Perongkan village society revenue sourced tembawang forest products with the revenue which comes from not tembawang product and the factors which affect to Perongkan village society revenue sourced tembawang forest products. The method which used in this research were surveyed method descriptive research and associative. Sampling was done by purposive random sampling method with respondents number of 52 households. Data analyzed using descriptive analysis, paired samples T-test analysis and Spearman's rho correlation.These results indicate that income which obtained by society from tembawang forest products an average of Rp 1,958,063 / household / month, based on two different test paired samples showed a significant difference between the average revenue from tembawang forest products of 60, 79% with an average revenue which sourced from outside tembawang of 39.21% and the factors that affect people's revenue by Spearman's rho test showed the labor factor significantly influence people's revenue in the utilization of tembawang forest products, whereas land area factor and utilized type was not significant influence to people's revenue in the utilization of tembawang forest products.
