Abstract

This research aims to identify plants found in the FMIPA environment that have the potential as learning resources in plant morphology courses. This research is exploratory research through shipping activities with data analysis using descriptive analysis. Identification of the plants found was carried out using the image comparison method followed by the species recognition process to examine the morphology of the plants as characteristics of the plants found. The samples taken are representatives of one type of plant from several similar or similar plant types, to study their morphology. The results of this research found several plant species, namely Bougenfilia spectabilis, Capsicum annum L. var. Sinensis, Ananas sagenaria, Aglaonema sp, Amaranthus spinosus, Polialthia longifolia, Plumeria rubra, Citrus aurantifolia, Araucaria heterophylla, Bambusa vulgaris, Ixora coccinea, Echinodius palaefolius, Mangifera indica, Dracaena reflexa var.salicifolia, and Terminalia catappa to be used as a resource for studying plant morphology subjects. The plant morphology observed included the morphology of the roots, stems, leaves, flowers and fruit of the plant samples obtained.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the floral morphology of plants found in the LKPB (Biology Experimental Garden Laboratory) at Universitas Negeri Makassar as a learning resource for plant morphology for students. The research method employed is an exploratory method with a descriptive approach for data management. This study specifically examines the floral morphology of plants found at LKPB UNM, focusing on flower symmetry, types of flowers (axillary or terminal), completeness of flowers (complete or incomplete), sexual characteristics (unisexual or bisexual), and whether the flower parts are categorized as perfect or imperfect, including modifications of flower parts discovered. The research identified 24 flower species: Hibiscus fragilis, Tabernaemontana divaricata, Leea guineensis, Mussaenda philippica, Bougainvillea buttiana, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Catharanthus roseus, Ixora sp., Adenium obesum, Oxalis barrelieri, Oxalis corniculata, Celosia argentea, Passiflora foetida, Saggitaria latifolia, Solanum melongena, Portulaca oleracea, Euphorbia hirta, Oldenlandia corymbosa, Cuphea hyssopifolia, Amaranthus viridis, Mangifera indica, Mimosa pudica, Centella asiatica and Tridax procumbens. The flowers from these species can serve as a biological learning resource in the plant morphology course for students, supporting contextual learning approaches.

Abstract

Household waste is daily waste generated by every household. Housel hold waste generated can be in the form of organic waste or inorganic waste. Which are difficult to decompose in the environment, such as plastic and cans. Oen way to utilize and process organic waste is through the manufacture of compost using a simple composter. This socialization activity and training on composting was carried out in Tritiro village, Bulukumba. The community service partners are housewives who live in Tritiro Village, Samboang District, Bulukuma Regency. This activity begins with counseling and outreach activities regarding compost, then training on the process of making compost from household waste. Key word : household waste, composter, compost manure

Abstract

Awareness is needed for teachers and educators in the use and utilization of the school environment as a learning resource for Biology Science. This way, teachers can become more creative in utilizing the environment as a learning source. A training on the utilization of the school environment as a learning resource for Biology Science has been conducted for teachers at MTS Arifah Gowa. The training took place on September 14, 2024. It spanned a one-day duration with 17 participants, all teachers. The training activities were held in the meeting room of Madrasah Arifah Gowa. The training methods employed included socialization and presentation, question and answer sessions, and discussions. The training's effectiveness was evaluated using a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale consisting of 25 statements. Assessment was based on the participants' responses to the statements provided in the questionnaire. The assessment results indicated that the participants' responses to each statement were positive or favorable.
