Abstract

The better the literacy of the people, the better the level of thinking and the achievement of the progress of the community in various aspects of life. However, in reality our current literacy culture is still low. Currently the partner has a side of the reading garden established in 2021 known as Fontabaca Park. But unfortunately, the establishment of a reading garden was not fully utilized by children and teenagers. This is exacerbated by the lack of reading material available in the reading garden. The lack of interest in reading or borrowing books is partly due to the lack of socialization related to literacy activities to children and adolescents in the Fontania region. The method of implementing activities starts from counseling, training, mentoring and evaluation. The results of each stage of the implementation activity start from the counseling activities carried out by analyzing the problem then continued with mapping the solutions provided for partners. Followed by providing training activities related to reading literacy and the formation of reading garden cadres. Mentoring activities are in the form of procurement of needed reading book materials and involving participants to label and collect reading books. Evaluation activities obtained an average percentage of 98% of the impact of activities carried out by the implementation team as an effort to optimize the existing Fontabaca park.

Abstract

a machine tool used to remove part of a rotated object is called a lathe. In the turning process, surface roughness often occurs on the workpiece, this roughness will later have an impact on the corrosion rate. In the oil and gas industry, corrosion is something that is very undesirable, because it can cause losses and also slow down a production process. This study aims to obtain the value of surface roughness and corrosion rate on medium carbon steel through the turning process with variations in rotation speed, namely at Rpm 350 and Rpm 460 with Vf 17 mm/minute, 21 mm/minute, 23 mm/minute, and 28 mm/minute. The results of this study are that the rotation speed and feed rate affect the roughness value on the surface of medium carbon steel, the average for Rpm 350 with Vf 17 the Ra value is 6.57 µm and Rz 31.2 µm, for Rpm 350 with Vf 21 the Ra value is 10.12 µm, and Rz 42.8 µm, for Rpm 460 with Vf 23 the Ra value is 6.53 µm and Rz 26.2 µm, and for Rpm 460 with Vf 28 the Ra value is 7.65 µm and Rz 34.4 µm. High Rpm but low Vf can produce lower surface roughness compared to low Rpm but high Vf. The surface roughness of the object also affects the corrosion rate, the specimen with the highest surface roughness, namely Rpm 350 with Vf 21, gets the highest corrosion rate value, namely 0.01086 mm/year. for the lowest surface roughness, namely Rpm 460 with Vf 23, gets a value of 0.00890 mm/years. it is proven that the higher the surface roughness value, the higher the corrosion rate value. Abstract

Several methods can be applied in composite manufacturing, including the vacuum infusion and filament winding methods. In order to apply this method in the manufacture of composites, it is necessary to know which produces composites with a good target ratio of fiber and resin, namely 60%/40%. The aim of this research is to compare the manufacturing methods that produce the distribution of fibers and resins that are close to the target. The composites in this study used a carbon tow reinforcement material with a matrix, namely araldite LY5052 epoxy resin and aradur 5052 CH hardener. In composite manufacturing, there are three stages, namely molding preparation, process manufacturing, and demolding. Then SEM photo observations were made on the specimen pieces from the composite results with three different locations. Of the two methods, vacuum infusion produces SEM photos with denser fiber distribution than filament winding and voids produced in the filament winding manufacturing method. The volume fraction of the test on the vacuum infusion sample with an average yield of 56.79% and 54.01% for filament winding.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an opportunistic pathogen with a strong capacity for biofilm formation, which enhances resistance to antibiotics. Although nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) seeds and mace have been extensively studied, research on nutmeg leaves is limited despite their content of flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids with antimicrobial potential. Objective: This study evaluated the antibiofilm activity of nutmeg leaf extract against MRSA biofilm formation in vitro. Materials and Methods: Biofilm assays were conducted using MRSA isolates. The optimal incubation time for biofilm formation was first determined, followed by treatment with nutmeg leaf extract. Results: MRSA formed optimal biofilms at 48 h (OD = 0.101 ± 0.012). Nutmeg leaf extract significantly reduced biofilm formation (OD = 0.083 ± 0.010) compared with the negative control (OD = 0.118 ± 0.009) and the positive control, tetracycline (OD = 0.096 ± 0.011) (p = 0.001). While the reduction was statistically significant, the difference from tetracycline was modest. Conclusion: Nutmeg leaf extract demonstrated significant antibiofilm activity against MRSA in vitro. These findings support its potential as a complementary natural agent for managing biofilm-associated infections, warranting further studies to isolate active compounds and assess synergistic effects with standard antibiotics.

Abstract

This paper discusses the effect that the representation of history in digital media has on collective memory with a particular emphasis on its consequences in the sphere of management. In the digital era, history is no longer limited to a textbook, all the archives or institutional accounts; it is being spread globally by the social media and video-sharing sites as well as web communities, where the history is reinterpreted, challenged, and co-created. This study employs the use of a qualitative methodology to research various participants based on their interviews to examine the way audiences interact with digital historical material, how they engage in negotiating meaning, and how the interactions influence the overall formation of common sense about the past. These results indicate that digital media will render history more convenient and personal to experience, especially among younger viewers, yet may also lead to the dissection or watering down of narratives. The interpretations of the audience are also influenced by the active involvement of online dialogue, which gives rise to collective memory due to the interaction, debate, and exchange of other views. Notably, the research indicates that the digital media strengthens national identity and at the same time creates space on which the challenged and plural memory can emerge to challenge institutional authority. On the managerial side, the implications of these dynamics are significant: historical narratives can be seen as strategic assets that can be used to affect the organizational legitimacy, identity construction and accountability. Organizations are no longer able to use one direction storytelling but need to dialogically interact with the various accounts of the past to continue to maintain trust and relevance. Finally, the study will help in understanding further the complexity of digital media, history and collective memory entanglement and provide information on how managers and institutions can negotiate across this shifting landscape in a responsible and strategic way.
