Abstract

Death events are often regarded as an adverse event, tiring, painful because death picks up someone you love. When humans are abandoned by loved ones, be they husbands, wives, children, lawyers, friends, friends or extended family because death is certain to be miserable in sadness, so some people consider too much death as a detrimental, tiring, tense or torturous event. It is important to understand that death does not recognize wealth, profession, position, honor. Death picks up humans at a time that can't be realized. Grieving when experiencing death is not the best solution because no one gets up again from death because of sadness. Death also comes without asking for permission from humans, because death is part of life. But it is important for humans to fully understand that behind the death which is considered as a detrimental, sad, painful thing, there is a great joy awaiting the death of a spirit. This issue will be resolved in this article.

Abstract

The case that is quite serious in theology is the doctrine of salvation, there is also a text which may confuse readers of the Bible if it does not have the ability to expose the Bible, Matthew 24:13, which can reveal that those who endure to the end are saved that, defense is an effort in every human being to strengthen himself or confirm life against all the problems he faces. It is important to note also that survival also does not always explain an active action to boast of itself, but surviving can be understood as a definite action subjected to actions by other people, other events. Then last into a passive position where people are required to be ready to bear claim, action or punishment; related to the concept of human salvation that God works fully. Abstract

There are various choices in understanding the Bible to become dogma in a church. Whether it was built based on a guide from the Bible and the traditions of the apostles or church fathers, to those who only focus on the Bible. Those based only on the Bible also have their own uniqueness. Amillennialism believes that the church is in the entire Old Testament. Paul, for example, uses the church that leads to Israel (Gal. 6:16). In addition, the remnants of the Israelites in the OT were said to be the church (Acts 7:38). The church is already in the OT with the election of the nation of Israel to be God's people. Even further, followers of amillennialism believe that the church existed in the garden of Eden. Covenant theology bases its theological understanding and the study of the Bible is based on three covenants namely the work agreement, redemption and grace. Covenant theology can be said to be a new theology, not even in the days of the church fathers. Even so, Augustine did mention the relationship of Adam, who at first, stood before God as a covenant. The exposition of the book of Revelation, according to the Covenant Theologian, is based on the method of progressive parallelism which is divided into seven parts. The seven parts are parallel with each other. Each section also reveals a certain progression in the process of eschatology. Although the book of Revelation is divided into seven parts, it should not only pay attention or focus on one part, but should appreciate all parts of the book of Revelation as a whole.

Based on the findings in this research, several suggestions were suggested as follows: (1) The formation of church members, with three dimensions, namely Coinonia, Diakonia and Marturia had influence in the medium category. It is recommended that it be maintained, even if the implementation is increased. Because through these three dimensions the resources of the people are included in the ministry. (2) As with the formation of church members, pastoral care also influences the moderate category of church growth, therefore it is recommended that the implementation be increased so that through direct contact with the life of the congregation it will strengthen the spirituality of the church.

Abstract

Hodayot, in Hebrew means thanksgiving Psalms, is a collection of approximately thirty poems that give thanks to God. Hodayot is an important resource for understanding the piety and religious devotion of those who composed and recited them.In reconstructing of the original scroll, uses direct joins method, vertical alignment of material, horizontal alignment of material, and placement of fragments according to the Scribal Hands. The benefits of this reconstruction: Firstly, the accurate placing of adjacent fragments has enabled more portions of meaningful text to be recovered. Secondly, this method allows the original length of the scroll to be estimated as twenty-seven or twenty-eight columns of forty-one to forty-two lines each. The average length of lines is also known. Thirdly, it is now possible to investigate the overall structure of the collection, particularly when the data from the Cave 4 manuscripts is also considered. This group contains all of the compositions identified as Teacher Hymns and it strengthens the argument that they represent a distinct group by a single author.

Abstract

In this study, spiritual, social-ethic and political background will be scrutinized to assist to understand Isaiah chapter 62 comprehensively. Spiritual life of God’s people is declined in the book of Isaiah because of idolatries and nations. Hebrew people make idols out of trees and worship pagan wooden idols (40:18-20; 44:9-20). Isaiah employs prophetic images for the covenant-breaking idolatry and worship of other gods by adultery and illicit sexual intercourse. It is clear that Isaiah is not exclusively interested in the interpersonal and social relationship structures within Israel. He is also concerned with the broader canvas of international politics.

Abstract

There are 7 letters written by Ignatius from Antioch, while traveling to Rome. One of them is the church at Ephesus which consists of 21 chapters. In this letter, Ignatius urges these Christians to be in unity with their bishop, because the Docetists were denying the true humanity of Christ. We also find here the unique emphasis on Jesus Christ as the one physician and the Eucharist as ‘the medicine of immortality’. Furthermore, by insisting on the virgin birth to explain Jesus’ existence as the Christ, Ignatius makes a vigorous anti-docetic statement. In this exegetical study, the writer will specifically examine only chapters 18-19, to find the meaning of the writing of these two chapters, which are related to suffering through self-sacrifice. Ignatius speaks in self-deprecating terms as he gives his life as a self-offering. By the world, he is regarded as a criminal but in God’s plan of salvation (oikonomia) his sufferings benefit the church. Ignatius merely makes this more explicit with his remark that what God had prepared ‘had its beginning’. He probably would have gone on to stress the passion as the culmination of God’s plan, though he was also conscious of the fact that Satan’s power had not even yet been completely destroyed.
