Abstract

Pasraman Saraswati Tri Parartha Mataram integrates multicultural education grounded in Hindu philosophy to instill the value of religious moderation. This research departs from the discourse of religious education, which not only focuses on theological aspects but also on the formation of inclusive, contextual, and moderate social character and religious ethics. The purpose of this study is to identify the learning strategies used by Acarya in teaching the values of religious moderation and analyze their contribution to the social attitudes and religiosity of pasraman students. This study employs a qualitative case study approach, focusing on the main subjects: Acarya, Sisya, and parents. We collected data through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, followed by a thematic analysis. The findings of the study show that the internalization of the value of religious moderation runs effectively through learning approaches rooted in Hindu philosophy, such as Tat Twam Asi, Ahimsa, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Learning strategies that combine ritual practices, examples, and strengthening social attitudes have been proven to be able to form a character that is tolerant, religious, and respectful of differences. The main contribution of this article lies in offering a contextual model of local religion-based multicultural education that can be replicated in other religious educational institutions. The results of this study are important for the development of religious education, educational philosophy, and da'wah communication based on local culture and spirituality as a transformative approach to strengthening religious moderation in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

Indonesia, with its religious, ethnic, and cultural diversity, faces great challenges in maintaining harmony between religious communities. Pasraman, as a non-formal educational institution that teaches Hinduism, has an important role in instilling the values of religious moderation in the younger generation. This study aims to analyse the learning strategy of religious moderation in pasraman, Mataram City, and the impact of internalising these values on sisyas. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies in several active pasramans in Mataram. The study results show that pasraman implements five main learning strategies system-oriented, expositive, cooperative, contextual, and affective. This strategy focuses on teaching the values of tolerance, respect for differences, and social harmony. Despite challenges such as a limited understanding of Acarya and limited facilities, the study's results revealed that the value of religious moderation has succeeded in shaping the character of sisya, who are more open, tolerant, and ready to contribute to a multicultural society. This research contributes to developing Hindu religious education based on religious moderation in Indonesia, especially in increasing tolerance and harmony in a plural society.

Abstract

Colouring, creative development, artistic creativity, and early childhood. This study will investigate the influence of colouring activities and gradation techniques on increasing artistic creativity in early childhood, especially in children aged 5–6 years. This study aims to explore the influence of colouring activities with gradation techniques on increasing artistic creativity in early childhood, especially in children aged 5-6 years. The research method used was the design of the pretest-posttest control group experiment, with two groups consisting of an experimental group and a control group. The tools used include a creativity scale to measure aspects of imagination, self-expression, and emotional involvement in children. The study's findings showed that children in the experimental group who performed colouring activities with the gradation technique showed a significant improvement in creativity ability, which was demonstrated by an increase in the average test result score after the intervention compared to the control group. These findings suggest that gradation techniques in colouring activities can stimulate creativity more effectively, not only in terms of fine motor skills but also in cognitive and aesthetic aspects. This research makes an important contribution to the development of art learning methods in early childhood and opens up opportunities for the application of structured art techniques that can increase children's creativity more optimally.
