Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the real effect of coffee grounds on the growth and yield of caisim (Brassica chinensis L.) and to determine the appropriate dose of coffee grounds to increase the growth and maximum yield of caisim (Brassica chinensis L.). This research was conducted from April 2022 to May 2022 at the Peat Techno Park (PTP) University of Palangka Raya. This study used an environmental design, namely Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were Control (P0), 20 g (P1), 40 g (P2), 60 g (P3), 80 (P4). The parameters used in this study were plant height, number of leaves, year width, crown weight and root weight. From the observations obtained, it was analyzed to determine the real effect of the treatment using analysis of variance (F test) at the level of α = 5% and 1%. Data analysis will be continued with the Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) at α = 5% to determine the significant difference between treatment levels. The treatment of coffee grounds significantly affected the height, number of leaves, leaf area, top crown weight and root weight of caisim plants. Giving 20 g of coffee grounds gave optimum results on the growth and yield of caisim plants.

Abstract

The cultivation of oyster mushrooms is an activity that can be introduced to early childhood as an effective learning medium. This activity not only familiarizes children with the growth process of oyster mushrooms but also increases their awareness of the importance of the environment and sustainability. At the Experimental Garden Installation of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Palangka Raya, this program is designed to provide a fun and educational learning experience for the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Tiara Az Zahra. Through the introduction of oyster mushroom cultivation, it is expected that children can develop observation skills, knowledge about the life cycle of mushrooms, and awareness of the importance of mushrooms as a nutritious vegetable source in everyday life. Additionally, this activity also aims to bring children closer to the world of science from an early age, as well as teach values of cooperation and responsibility through practical and interactive activities.

Abstract

Art is useful for developing skills in children, because art fosters creativity in children. Creativity is an experience in expressing and actualizing individual identity that integrated  between relationships with oneself, nature, and others. Palangka Raya is considered to have the potential to be developed as one of the centers for the development of arts and cultural activities in the Central Kalimantan Province. Based on observations, the obstacle in carrying out the activities of the PDPSU is that there is no information for ordinary people  to learn the skill of drawing anime cartoons, while many elementary age children like to watch cartoons. From these shows, the majority of Panti Asuhan Amanda are interested in drawing anime cartoons. The inability of the group of children at the Panti Asuhan Amanda in Bukit Tunggal Village to draw anime cartoons is because they do not have knowledges of these skills. Based on the above problems, the PDPSU LPPM Team of Palangka Raya University supports by providing education related to skills. drawing anime cartoons. Education and skill development activities include: (1) preparation, observation; (2) location survey and coordination; (3) socialization and mentoring stages; and (4) evaluation stages. The results obtained from skill education in drawing anime cartoons are increased ability of Panti Asuhan Amanda’s children in drawing anime cartoons. It is hoped that this drawing skills education can develop fine motor skills, develop children's imagination, creativity and initiative and train children at Panti Asuhan Aamnda  to be able to express themselves and ideas more freely.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effects of fertilization timing and weed control on the growth and yield of Sponge Gourd, and to identify the best timing for optimal growth and yield. The research was conducted from April - July 2024 on a farmer's land at Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan. The method used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 10 treatment combinations and 3 groups. Treatments included fertilization with Gandasil B at 20 and 23 days after planting (DAP), 25 and 28 DAP, and 30 and 33 DAP, along with weed control intervals of 7, 14, and 21 days. Observed variables were plant length, number of leaves, number of branches, fruit diameter, fruit length, fresh weight of sample fruit, number of sample fruits, fresh weight of fruit per plot, and number of fruits per plot. The results showed significant differences in fertilization timing and weed control on plant length, number of leaves, number of branches, fresh weight of sample fruit, number of sample fruits, fresh weight of fruit per plot, and number of fruits per plot, but no significant differences in fruit diameter and length. Weed vegetation analysis indicated that babadotan weeds had the highest Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) of 26% before land preparation, and jukut pendul weeds had the highest SDR of 45% post-harvest. Treatment G4, with fertilization at 25 and 28 DAP and weed control every 7 days, was the best treatment. Observations showed that all variables in treatment G4 had the highest average values.
