In a learning process of learning English, teaching materials are needed to support the learning process such as textbooks. Therefore, this research analysed English speaking material in “Bahasa Inggris” English textbook for twelfth grade of Senior High School Published by Kemendikbud 2018. The research problem of the study were: (1) What types of speaking material are there in “Bahasa Inggris” English textbook?, and (2) How is the content of the material on speaking English textbook for twelfth grades published by Indonesian government?. Therefore, the purposes of this study were: (1) To describe types of speaking material in “Bahasa Inggris” English Textbook., and (2) To identify the contain of material of speaking skills found in English textbook for twelfth graders published by Indonesian government. In carrying out this research, researcher used a qualitative approach with content analysis method. Data collected by carrying out evaluation checklist, interview, and documentation. The main research findings were: (1) The speaking materials contained in “Bahasa Inggris” English textbooks for twelfth graders published by Indonesian governmentcontains material in the form of dialogue, and (2) The speaking material in the book can help students based on the teacher's perspective and evaluation checklists. Online learning has been implemented as a strategic solution many universities during the Covid-19 outbreak. The aimed this research was to found correlation between students learning readiness and students satisfaction .The research employs quantitative research method using correlation design. The population of this research using random sampling was carried out 2nd-8th semester of English Education Study Program at IAIN Palangkaraya in which consist 92 respondents, in order to collected the data, the researcher was used questionnaire and analyzed with Pearson product moment correlation. The result was found that there was a positive and significant relationship between learning readiness and satisfaction with a correlation coefficient of 0.609 at the significance level α = 0.05. Learning readiness on student satisfaction is included in the strong category, which is in the range 0.61-0.80 and has a determination coefficient of 0.37, which means that the variance of satisfaction 37% is determined by the variance of learning readiness. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Blended Learning in a community service of English for Journalism. To find out whether the journalists’ level of English proficiency after the training was better that that before the training, a single group of 15 female and 9 male journalists from 17 local and national media was given the blended learning of English for Journalism program four times a week in a total of 16 meetings of 120 minutes each. After such journalists’ needs as their level of English proficiency and having no fixed routine had been analyzed, community service was performed to help improve their English proficiency. Result shows that at the end of the training the 9 female and 15 male journalists achieved the Independent User B2 level which was higher than the Basic User A2 level at the beginning of the training. The result suggests that blended learning of English for Journalism community service was effective in improving the journalists’ English proficiency. It could also be adopted in the other branches of English for Specific Purposes, especially for busy working learners. The finding possibly provides useful direction for human resource managers, community service performers, and English language teachers.

Aimed at identifying what writing strategies four beginning authors used and examining how these strategies facilitated their writings, a collective case study describing and comparing the beginning authors was carried out to provide insights into the issue. The authors were teachers of English in English departments at four Indonesian universities, and were selected on the basis of a recommendation by the editor of some books in which their written products were published. To gain a far better understanding of the cases, two data forms (questionnaires and interview notes) were collected. The data gathered were repeatedly examined in order to discover some reoccurring patterns. The inductive process delineated the strategies used by the participants when dealing with academic writing. The results show that, in order of priority, the writing strategies employed in their initial writing careers were social, affective, compensation, and cognitive ones. This study contributes to the knowledge of social or contextual factors in writing English academic papers by illustrating which strategies were used and how in order to cope with the writing process. It also suggests writing strategies be adopted by future authors and built in the classes of English as a foreign language.

Abstract: The existence of venture capital businesses in all provinces was introduced through the Deregulation Package Policy dated 20 December 1988 which was followed by the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 61 of 1988. Although venture capital companies in the regions are referred to as sharia business capital, they have implemented sharia principles because in their financing, the business partner companies (PPU) that will receive financing do not carry out activities that are prohibited according to Islam.The purpose of this study is to analyze the magnitude and prove the effect that venture capital participation affects the income of the business partner company (PPU) in Palangka Raya from a sharia economic perspective. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach. This research is categorized as an associative study which aims to determine the causal relationship. The results of this study indicate that the variable of venture capital participation has an effect on and increases the income of PPU after receiving venture capital participation. Abstrak: Keberadaan usaha modal ventura di seluruh provinsi diperkenalkan melalui Kebijakan Paket Deregulasi tanggal 20 Desember 1988 yang diikuti dengan keluarnya Keputusan Presiden No. 61 Tahun 1988.. Meskipun perusahaan modal ventura di daerah meskipun belum bernama modal ventura syariah, namun sudah menjalankan prinsip-prinsip syariah karena dalam pembiayaannya, perusahaan pasangan usaha (PPU) yang akan mendapat pembiayaan tidak melakukan kegiatan yang dilarang menurut Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisa besarnya dan membuktikan pengaruh bahwa penyertaan modal ventura berpengaruh terhadap pendapatan perusahaan pasangan usaha (PPU) di Palangka Raya ditinjau dari persepktif ekonomi syariah. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dikategorikan sebagai penelitian asosiatif bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan yang bersifat sebab akibat. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel penyertaan modal ventura berpengaruh dan lebih meningkatkan pendapatan PPU setelah menerima penyertaan modal ventura. This research was motivated by the problems faced by some students in learning English. The problem that generally occurs was difficulty in English vocabulary. This objective in study was measured the effectiveness of Task-Based Learning on students’ vocabulary skill. on class XII students at MA Darul Ulum class 2020/2021 in Palangka Raya. This study used quantitative research methods with a quasi-experiment design. Researchers did the treatment and calculated the results of their pre-test and post-test scores. The researchers used two classes as samples where these two classes were from the control class and the experimental class which consisted of 56 people. the results of the analysis obtained a significance value of 0.02, it shows that the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In addition, the average value of the initial test of the experimental class was 49.92 and their scores increased on the post-test results to 72.92. Students' anxiety about speaking English is significant to solve because it can affect their speaking ability. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of pair work activities on students’ speaking anxiety and speaking ability. The researchers conducted quasi-experimental research in Palangka Raya in the academic year of 2021/2022. In collecting the data, a questionnaire and a speaking test were used. The population in this study were eighth graders students in one of the public junior high school. The researcher used two classes as the sample, the experimental and control class, which comprised 60 students. The data were analyzed using the descriptive statistics and Multivariate Analysis of Variance test via SPSS.23. The result showed pair work activities effectively decreased the students’ speaking anxiety and increased the students' speaking ability. It evidenced by the average score in the post-test of students' speaking anxiety in the experimental class was 52.77, while the control class was 60.00. In addition, the average score in the post-test of the students’ speaking ability in the experimental class was 76.63, while the control class was 64.43. It showed that there is a significant difference between the two classes. Therefore, this study indicates that pair work activities effectively lower students' speaking anxiety and increase their speaking ability at eighth graders students in one of the public junior high school in Palangka Raya.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pemanfaatan metode media mendengarkan - visual dalam pengajaran kosakata bahasa Inggris di SD Islam Terpadu Nurul Fikri di Palangka Raya. Metode analisis yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari observasi, tanya jawab, dan dokumentasi. Pengenalan Bahasa Inggris ini dilakukan dengan menggabungkan media audio visual seperti lagu dari YouTube dan pembuatan poster dari gambar cetakan. Hasilnya menunjukkan respon yang positif dan antusias dari para siswa. Media audio visual mempunyai keunggulan dalam penyampaian pesan yang lebih jelas dan tidak bersifat verbal, sehingga membantu mempercepat proses belajar siswa.

Reflective journaling defined as a development-oriented assessment in which contributes students to reach potential capabilities through analyzing their learning process. The students engaged in reflection of their learning process through reflective journal writing. The present study focused to investigate the effect of reflective journaling on writing skills of English as A Foreign Language (EFL) students. Two classes of twelfth grade students in a state Islamic school were involved in the study. The participants were assigned to two groups (experimental and control) and involved in writing test. Experimental group was provided by reflective journal template adapted from Gibb’s Reflective Cycle. The analysis was significant with p value was 0.024 in which less than critical value 0.05. The results indicated that students who used reflective journal significantly different compared to those do not use it.
