Abstract

Inter-religious conflict is a phenomenon that still occurs in inter-religious and intra-religious relations in Indonesia. Some of the history of violence that occurred came from religious motives. Responding to this problem, the author attempts to construct a spirit of religious moderation by learning from the experience of meeting Elijah and the Widow in Zarephath. The meeting between these two figures was full of friendliness and harmony without considering their differences in background. The author analyzes this story using a literature study approach and hermeneuthic method, especially seeing through method. The author finds that the story of Elijah and the Widow at Zarephath offers three attitudes or perspectives in constructing religious moderation, namely making hospitality theology as the basis for the theology of religions, deconstructing negative stigma towards other religions through encounter and dialogue, and not exclusiveizing God's power and love.

Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to break down the hidden barriers that make it difficult for women to become leaders like men. Gender equality has provided opportunities for men and women to receive education and empowerment, but women still experience obstacles in becoming leaders. The author responds to this problem by analyzing the Korean drama "Queen Woo" and the text of 1 Timothy 2:11-12 using the revised correlation approach. The author finds that the text of 1 Timothy 2:11-12 is Paul's sensitivity because of the honor and shame culture. Paul's command is an effort to restore the honor of men and women according to the values and standards of patriarchal honor. Men drew their honor because of their work, and women drew their honor because of their manners. The drama Queen Woo shows the superior character to fight against the male monopoly on superiority. The author recommends that the church and society deconstruct the patriarchal legacy of the concept of honor and its relationship to gender. Women also need to be respected and their superiority recognized. Men and women must get equal superiority factually and through social recognition and respect.

Abstract

The background of this article is the ineffectiveness of church services due to the congregation's economic limitations and their inability to meet the needs of church servants. This article aims to provide an alternative so that the ministry remains effective in the congregation without ignoring the rights of church servants. Therefore, the writer analyzes the text of 1 Timothy 5:17-18 and the masso'bä' tradition in the Taoran community, with the perspective of local theology from Robert Schreiter. The author uses descriptive qualitative research methods through library research and interviews. The author finds that the encounter of the text of 1 Timothy 5:17-18 and the masso'bä' tradition can change the perspective of church ministers and congregations so that they can build reciprocal relationships that “animate each other”. Church servants can serve congregations whose finances are limited, but congregations can meet the needs of church ministers through material assistance and services.

Abstract

This article aims to reconstruct the church mission in the context of religious moderation. Religious moderation has led to the need to review the church's mission in the form of Christianization, stealing own, and the church's appearance in the public space that debates as conservative and liberal.
