Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of leverage, liquidity, and sales growth on the profitability of coal mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2019 to 2024. Leverage variables are measured using the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), while liquidity is measured using the Current Ratio (CR). The results of the study indicate that DER, DAR, and CR have a significant effect on Return on Assets (ROA), which suggests that optimal management of capital structure, funding, and liquidity plays an important role in increasing company profitability. The implications of these findings emphasize that companies need to implement appropriate financial strategies to maximize asset performance and support long-term growth. For further research, it is recommended that the sample coverage be expanded to other industrial sectors, such as technology or services, to test whether the relationship between the variables studied remains consistent in different contexts. In addition, the use of moderating variables, such as company size or level of innovation, can provide deeper insight into the factors that influence profitability. Longer longitudinal analysis and consideration of macroeconomic factors, such as interest rates and inflation, are also recommended to understand the long-term impact of leverage and liquidity on company profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of disciplinary character education for grade 1 students at SDN 5 Sigar Penjalin in the 2024/2025 school year. This research was conducted at SDN 5 Sigar Penjalin with 21 students, collecting data by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, to test the validity of the data using source and technique tringulation. This type of research is field research (field research) which is descriptive qualitative in nature by taking location at SDN 5 Sigar Penjalin. The results of research and data analysis can be concluded that habituation is carried out from the arrival of students to the return of students. Starting with welcoming students in the school yard where the 5S habituation was in the form of smiles, greetings, courtesy and shaking hands with teachers and saying and answering greetings, after the bell rang it continued with prayer (al-fatihah, shahada and its meaning, prayer for learning, prayer for both parents). In addition, students are also accustomed to always be disciplined in terms of responsibility to always bring equipment during ceremonies such as using hat attributes, ties and always tucking in clothes. The teacher also gives another habit by always reminding students to be disciplined in returning books when they have finished reading them to make them tidier.

Abstract

The low level of reading comprehension skills among fifth-grade students at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih forms the background of this study, primarily due to reading instruction that minimally engages prediction processes, resulting in students struggling to answer questions and draw conclusions from texts. This research aims to analyze the effect of the Predict, Organize, Rehearse, Practice, and Evaluate (PORPE) strategy on students’ reading comprehension skills. A quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design and a quantitative approach was employed. Data were analyzed using a t-test, which revealed that the t-value exceeded the critical value (4.272 > 1.676), indicating the rejection of H₀ and acceptance of H₁. The main findings demonstrate that the PORPE strategy has a significant effect on improving students' reading comprehension skills. The study concludes that the PORPE strategy is effective in reading comprehension instruction. Theoretically, this research contributes to the body of knowledge on cognitively based reading strategies, while practically, it serves as a reference for teachers and schools in implementing more structured and strategic literacy approaches. Additionally, this study opens avenues for further exploration of PORPE strategy implementation across different educational levels and learning contexts.
