Abstract

Learning media plays an important role in connecting theory with practice, turning abstract concepts into more concrete and interesting experiences, learning media arranges various educational elements into a whole that strengthens students' understanding in an interactive and fun way. The main goal of a puzzle is to solve a challenge by utilizing thinking skills, logic, and sometimes motor skills. This research was carried out to find out the use of puzzle media in teaching in elementary schools. The literature study method in this study, with the help of prisms as a guide for selecting relevant research results. The results of this research include the combination of puzzle media with learning models, combination with other learning media, use based on class, use based on meta lessons, influence on learning in schools. Based on the results of analysis from various relevant research results, the use of puzzle media is often used in elementary school learning and provides positive impacts such as increasing student interest in learning, improving reading skills, increasing student learning achievement, improving learning outcomes, increasing student learning motivation, increasing ability. students' reading and improving students' skills.

Abstract

This research is motivated by critical thinking skills of students in understanding the subject matter delivered by the teacher which is still low due to a less varied learning process. The ability of students to understand the concepts of the material being taught is still not able to develop new knowledge actively so that students have not been able to develop critical thinking skills in the learning process. This study aims to determine the effect of using the brainstorming method on student’s' critical thinking skills in science learning in Class IV SDN 11 Tanjung Medan. The population of this research is the fourth grade students of SDN 11 Tanjung Medan and a nonequivalent control group design. The data collection in this study was using a critical thinking skill test in the form of 25 objective questions, the data obtained were analyzed using the t test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing with t-test, the data obtained by the value of tcount = 3.661 with a difficulty level of 5% with the test criteria if tcount> ttable then the hypothesis or H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The t-test value obtained is tcount = 3.661 > ttable = 2.074. From the results of the study, it was proven that "The critical thinking skills of students who learn to use the brainstorming method are higher than students who do not learn to use the brainstorming method in science learning at SDN 11 Tanjung Medan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pembelajaran yang kurang menggali pemikiran siswa, rendahnya tingkat kreativitas belajar peserta didik, proses pembelajaran yang masih dominan menggunakan metode ceramah, serta kurangnya pemanfaatan lingkungan sebagai sumber belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap kreativitas belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPAS Sekolah Dasar. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada eksplorasi mendalam mengenai bagaimana model pembelajaran inkuiri dapat meningkatkan kreativitas belajar peserta didik secara signifikan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan eksploratif. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen menggunakan metode Quasi Eksperimen Design. Sampel penelitian 55 peserta didik yang diambil menggunakan teknik probability sampling. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan modul pembelajaran dan angket berpikir kreatif. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap kreativitas belajar peserta didik. Penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri mendorong siswa untuk aktif berpartisipasi dan mengeksplorasi pengetahuan mereka, sehingga mendukung pengembangan ide-ide kreatif. Hasil penelitian ini mengimplikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri dapat menjadi alternatif yang efektif untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPAS, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kreativitas belajar siswa. Temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi kepada pembuat kebijakan pendidikan dan pihak sekolah untuk memprioritaskan penerapan model inkuiri sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of the application of the 7E (Elicit, Engange ,Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluation and Extend) Learning Cycle Model to the learning outcomes of the Basic Science Concepts of second grade student of Elementary School. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was all students of Primary Teacher Education in higher educational private university college in Padang in the 2018/2019 school year. The sample consisted of 24 control class students and 28 experimental class students. The experimental class uses the 7E Learning Cycle model while the control class uses the conventional model. The data collection technique is in the form of a learning outcome test (cognitive). From this study, there were differences in student learning outcomes using learning with the learning model Cycle 7E with conventional learning. Learning with 7E Learning Cycle model gives an effect of 72% (moderate) to the improvement of student learning outcomes in the Basic Science Concept Course.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Holistic Mathematics Education (HME) model based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, specifically designed for upper-grade elementary school students. The study adopts the Plomp development design, which consists of three main phases: (1) the Preliminary Phase, aimed at collecting empirical data to determine the characteristics of the model to be developed; (2) the Development Phase, aimed at designing and developing a valid and practical HME model based on the RME approach through a series of formative evaluations; and (3) the Assessment Phase, aimed at measuring the model's effectiveness in improving conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and students' character values. However, this research focuses solely on the design phase, producing outputs such as a model book, a teacher's guidebook, and a student's guidebook. The research instruments include validation sheets for both the instruments and the products, which were reviewed by experts to ensure their validity and reliability. This validation process ensures that the developed products have a strong theoretical foundation and are practically applicable in teaching mathematics at the upper elementary school level. The findings indicate that the developed products meet the criteria for validity and can thus be used for upper-grade elementary students. In subsequent stages, this model will be implemented with upper-grade students to assess its practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

The development of a module based on Quantum Learning with the theme Kayanya Negeriku aims to see the product design of a module based on Quantum Learning on the theme of richness of my country in grade IV SD, and to see the results of validation for thematic modules based on Quantum Learning on the theme of richness of my country in grade IV SD. This research was conducted at SD 33 Kalumbuk, Padang City. This research and development process is carried out using the 4-D model), namely defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. Can be trusted as follows: 1) the defining stage is conducting curriculum analysis and analyzing the needs of students, 2) the design stage, carried out by designing the material preparation specifications, preparing tools and materials and module design, the resulting product form in the form of modules / teaching materials using the Quantum Learning model, 3 ) the development stage, is the module validation stage, and the module revision stage. and the dissemination stage was not carried out because considering the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic so it was not possible to enter the field.The development was carried out by testing the validity of the module by 3 aspects, namely the material aspect 1 with a value of 3.7 which was very valid category, the design aspect with a value of 3.7 which was very valid category, and the language aspect with a value of 3.6 which was very valid category. Based on the results of the validation of an integrated thematic module based on Quantum Learning, the theme of richness for my country, grade IV SD got an average score of 3.7 in the Very Valid category. This gives an idea that the modules developed are valid and can be used in integrated thematic learning.

Abstract

Literasi sains adalah kemampuan yang wajib dimiliki oleh setiap anak mulai dari sejak dini. Literasi sains adalah kemampuan seseoarang untuk memahami sains untuk memecahkan masalah sehingga memiliki sikap dan kepekaan yang tinggi terhadap diri dan lingkungannya. Bersasarkan studi PISA dari tahun 2000-2018 menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata sains Indonesia lebih rendah dari rata-rata internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada kelas V SD Negeri 04 Pancuang Soal Pesisir Selatan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lembar tes soal literasi sains yang terdiri dari 15 butir soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perolehan nilai dari 23 siswa kelas V, maka diperoleh untuk klasifikasi tinggi sebanyak 5 orang, klasifikasi sedang sebanyak 14 orang. Sedangkan untuk kalasifikasi rendah terdapat 4 orang. Dari data diatas dapat kita lihat masih banyak siswa belum mampu memahami dan mengidentifikasi menganai literasi sains. Berdasarkan tafsiran persentase maka dapat disimpulkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa kelas V SD Negeri 04 Pancuang Soal Pesisir Selatan pada aspek pengetahuan secara keseluruhan sebesar 51,3% termasuk pada kategori “kurang sekali”.
