Abstract

Bajakah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) is a plant originating from the forests of Kalimantan which contains compounds in the form of alkaloids that act as antimicrobials. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of Spatholobus littoralis Hassk as an antibacterial. The in-silico method was carried out using a bioinformatics-based tool and antibacterial testing using the well method, this is because testing with the pitting method is more effective because the extract reacts directly with the test bacteria. Observations on S. aureus bacteria for 1x24 hours with a concentration of 12.5% formed an inhibition zone of 13.25 mm, a concentration of 25% formed an inhibitory power of 14.10 mm, and a concentration of 50% formed an inhibition zone of 15.4 mm. At 2x24 hours observation with a concentration of 12.5% formed an inhibitory zone of 13.625 mm, a concentration of 25% formed an inhibitory power of 14.50 mm, and for a concentration of 50% formed an inhibitory power of 15.70 mm. Meanwhile, E.coli bacteria do not form a clear zone so they do not have antibacterial properties.

Abstract

Data global kanker pada tahun 2020 menunjukkan sebanyak 396,914 kasus di Indonesia yang mengalami penyakit kanker. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode BSLT yaitu dengan cara pengujian praskrining untuk uji antikanker dengan menggunakan hewan uji. Semakin tinggi sitotoksik pada larva udang tersebut maka dapat diindikasikan semakin kuat sebagai antikanker. Telur udang dari Artemia salina ditetaskan di dalam air laut sintetik, kemudian diberikan perlakuan terhadap ekstrak dari masing-masing konsentrasi. Konsentrasi ekstrak yang digunakan yaitu 1 ppm, 10 ppm dan 100 ppm. Sampel ekstrak daun salam menunjukkan nilai LC50 lebih kecil dari 1,000 µg/ml dikatakan toksik, sebaliknya apabila LC50 lebih besar dari 1,000µg/ml dikatakan tidak toksik. Sampel ekstrak daun salam memiliki nilai LC50 sebesar 382.82 µg/ml, sehingga ekstrak daun salam ini diindikasikan dapat bersifat sebagai antikanker. Daun salam mengandung senyawa tanin, alkaloid, steroid, triterpenoid, dan flavonoid yang bersifat sebagai antikanker. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berlanjut pada pengujian toksik terhadap jenis kanker lain seperti kanker rahim dan kanker payudara menggunakan senyawa murni dari ekstrak daun salam.

Abstract

The Health Laboratory is an important part of a health system in providing health services to the community. Health laboratory as an integral part of health services in health facilities. delivery of material The team delivered material on strengthening regional health laboratory accreditation (labkesda) at the Indragiri downstream district health office. This material includes the definition of accreditation of health laboratories, steps in strengthening accreditation, to ensure quality improvement, performance improvement and risk management implementation. Abstract

Minyak kelapa murni atau lebih dikenal dengan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) merupakan modifikasi proses pembuatan minyak kelapa sehingga dihasilkan produk dengan kadar air dan kadar asam lemak bebas yang rendah, berwarna bening, berbau harum, serta mempunyai daya simpan yang cukup lama yaitu lebih dari 12 bulan. Pembuatan VCO dengan cara fermentasi kelapa akan mendapatkan bakteri asam laktat dan bersifat bakteriosin pada setiap lapisannya. Bakteri asam laktat yang didapatkan adalah sebagai probiotik yang menghasilkan berbagai macam produk fermentasi seperti etanol, karbondioksida, asam asetat, dan peroksida. Beberapa Studi menunjjukkan bahwa VCO dapat meningkatkan system kekebalan tubuh, dan mampu untuk mencegah terjadinya infeksi. Sehingga pada pengabdian Masyarakat yang dilakukan di SMKN 8 batam Sei pelunggut, kacamatan sangulung kota batam, diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan kelapa untuk pembuatan VCO. Melalui kegiatan ini telah dihasilkan suatu cara atau metode yang mudah dan sederhana dalam pembuatan VCO dan para siswa/siswi SMKN 8 Batam yang mengikuti pelatihan ini mendapatkan pengetahuan yang bermanfaat dan memiliki kemampuan untuk membuat dan mengembangkan produk VCO ini ketika stock kelapa melimpah dan dapat dilanjutkan menjadi usaha skala rumah tangga serta berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi usaha yang lebih besar dan bisa dipasarkan ke pasar modern

Abstract

Kucing merupakan hewan yang sangat banyak di gemari sebagai hewan peliharaan di rumah. Kucing dapat menularkan penyakit zoonosis yaitu toxoplasma yang di sebabkan oleh parasit Toxoplasma gondi. Toxoplasma gondi merupakan parasit intraseluler dari golongan protozoa yang bersifat parasit obligat, di mana kucing berperan sebagai hospes definitive. Fases kucing diambil di perumahan citramas dan kampung tengah, fases kucing selanjutnya dilarutkan kedalam aquadest kemudian dihomogenkan, setelah itu diamati dibawah mikroskop. Hasil pengamatan yang dilakukan di laboratorium menunjukkan di perumahan kampung tengah terdapat 2 kucing yang terinfeksi parasit Toxoplasma gondii dan di perumahan citramas tdk ditemukan kucing yang terinfeksi parasit ini. Terinfeksinya kucing di kampung tengah kemungkinan diakibatkan oleh lingkungan yang kotor dan makanan (daging dan Ikan) dikonsumsi oleh kucing tersebut masi setangah matang. Pada penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi edukasi bagi masyarakat agar dapat memperhatikan lingkungan dan makanan yang di konsumsi oleh kucing tersebut.

Abstract

Plants have several ways to protect themselves from bacteria, one of which is by producing compounds that are toxic or repellent to bacteria. Compounds produced by plants are known as secondary metabolite compounds which originate from secondary metabolic processes. Several secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, steroids and terpenoids are currently widely used as antibacterials. One of the plants that has the potential to be developed as a herbal medicine is kaffir lime leaves. Citrus hystrix is ​​the part of the plant most often used by the public. Both for cooking and traditional medicine purposes. In this research, it is hoped that lime peel extract can act as an antibacterial for Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aereus, so that it can be used as a herbal plant for diseases caused by these two bacteria. In the research, the concentrations used for each test bacteria were 50%; 25%; 12.5%. in observing S. aureus bacteria 1x24 hours with a concentration of 50%, the size of the inhibitory zone was 16 mm, the 25% concentration was 11 mm and the 12.5% ​​concentration was 9 mm. Meanwhile, E. Coli bacteria did not show any reaction to the heruk peel extract.

Abstract

This community service is carried out with the aim of helping students of SMK Kartini to understand and comprehend the impacts and dangers that can arise from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a serious issue that can endanger the mental and physical health of individuals, especially teenagers. Students of SMK (Vocational High School) belong to a vulnerable group at risk of experiencing sexual harassment. The community service method is implemented through collaboration between speakers, educators, and the school authorities. The first step is to identify issues related to sexual harassment that are relevant to the context of SMK students. Subsequently, appropriate and informative educational materials are developed based on comprehensive and responsible principles of sexual education. Then, the education is conducted through interactive sessions involving presentations, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing games. The educational materials cover understanding the definition of sexual harassment, types of sexual harassment, its impact on the health and well-being of students, prevention strategies, and how to report cases of sexual harassment. This community service is an important initial step in combating sexual harassment among the students of SMK Kartini. Continuous education and collaborative efforts among the school, families, and the community are necessary to create sustainable changes in behavior and attitudes towards sexual harassment. It is expected that the results of this community service will contribute positively to creating a safe, supportive, and harassment-free school environment for the students of SMK Kartini.

Abstract

The process of removing the skin covering the tip of the penis is known as circumcision. The law of circumcision for boys in Islam is mandatory. The goal is not only to obey religious orders, but also to prevent feces from sticking to the penis, making urination easier, and reducing the pleasure of intercourse. Apart from that, there are many benefits of circumcision after doing it, but there are still children who don't know what circumcision is and its benefits based on data analysis. The community will be given free circumcisions to carry out one of the Tridharma activities of higher education which is being carried out in Batam City. At this stage, the children were circumcised by doctors from Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, assisted by lecturers from the Kartina Batam Health Academy and lecturers from the Putra Jaya Health Analytical Academy, Batam. After the circumcision process, it is checked again after 3 days. Through the implementation of Community Service in 2024, the target of this activity is to provide education to the public to avoid various kinds of genital diseases, so that public health can be more guaranteed. Circumcision not only functions to clean vital human organs, but circumcision has many health benefits, including AIDS, penile cancer, prostate cancer and urinary tract infections.

Abstract

Papaya Carica papaya L. is a fruit commodity that has many functions and benefits as cooking, sweets, medicine, snacks. Secondary metabolite compounds found in Carica papaya L. papaya are flavonoids, polyphenols, quinones and tannins. It is known that falvonoid compounds can have antibacterial properties. In this research, it is hoped that papaya leaf stalk extract can act as an antimicrobial so that it can be used as first aid for diseases caused by E. coli bacteria. This research used ingredients from 500 grams of papaya leaf stalk extract which had been macerated using 96% ethanol, to produce a thick extract. The thick extract was tested on NA growth media using E. coli bacteria. In this study, the clear zone produced at a concentration of 50% was 7 mm, at a concentration of 25% it produced a clear zone of 6 mm and at a concentration of 12.5% it did not produce a clear zone.

Abstract

The Miana Coleus atropurpereus plant is a unique plant because it has so many varieties. The differences in these varieties can be seen from the very diverse differences in leaf color. Several studies have known about the active antimicrobial compounds of Coleus atropurpereus miana leaves, namely in the form of flavonoids, saponins, steroids, tannins, essential oils, eugenol, polyphenolic compounds, alkaloids, ethyl salicylate, calcium oxalate, rosmarinic acid compounds. In this study, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria were used using thick extracts that had been macerated using 96% alcohol. in this study it showed 8 mm at a concentration of 50%, at a concentration of 25% it showed a clear zone of 7 mm and at a concentration of 12.5% ​​it showed 6 mm. It can be concluded that the extract of Coleus atropurpereus miana leaves is weakly toxic to E. coli and not toxic to S. aureus bacteria..
