Abstract

Digitalization has had the greatest impact not only on the economic, social, cultural, and technological sectors, but also on the education sector. The higher level of Islamic education can be a part of its generalization. Otherwise, this article aims to explore the challenges of the period in the Revolution 5.0 era and its implications for Islamic higher education, particularly at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Is a lecturer still required if students were a part of the industrial revolution while the educational system was rapidly expanding? Furthermore, how is the lecturer going to prepare for the challenge? The phenomenology approach was used in this study. Based on the observation and the interview, data is analyzed to form an interpretation. According to the findings of the research, UIN Sunan Kalijaga has prepared to face the challenges of the Society 5.0 era, but the institution has not. Moreover, the institution hasn’t yet come out of the digital era; there is still much that needs to be done. For example, the systems of e-budgeting, e-public service, and e-governance haven't been formed. The conditions were constrained by a data system that requires substantial funds. The problems' recommendations are to establish an integration system for document capture and information management, to expand the knowledge foundation based on research and development, and to expand adaptive by human resources.

Abstract

Stunting is still a social problem that the Indonesian government must resolve. The currentgovernment prioritizes one hundred districts to address the problem. Although not all stuntingprevention programs run well, one district considered capable of solving the stunting problemwell is West Lombok Regency. This research is essential because many regions in Indonesia arestill struggling to find a suitable stunting management model. This study aims to find a model forhandling stunting in this area to reduce stunting rates significantly. For this purpose, researchersconducted qualitative research by conducting interviews with the government and people of WestLombok in overcoming stunting. This study found no determinant factors that caused stunting inWest Lombok. Stunting is influenced by many factors, from health, economy, people awareness,environment-sanitation, to culture. Social protection programs in the form of conditionalassistance from the central government for the poor can also not overcome stunting. Theexistence of families receiving assistance but still experiencing stunting proves the aboveassumption. West Lombok government carried out the method of handling stunting in a top-downmanner through mainstreaming stunting handling in government programs. The Regent put a"coercion" mechanism to all agencies within the West Lombok government to create a socialinnovation program to overcome stunting. As a result, all agencies in the West Lombokgovernment have programs with unique names and ways to participate in reducing stunting. Withthis mainstreaming, everyone understands the problem of stunting and makes it a commonproblem that must be solved together so that the stunting rate in West Lombok has decreasedsignificantly. Keywords: stunting, program mainstreaming, social innovation, top-down policy, socialassistance

Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate student interest in accessing online platform of academic journals in the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. This research applied survey method with quantitative technique to analyse collected data. The results show that all variables tested by conclusions are accepted. This means, after processing the data from the results of questionnaires, it can be seen that the data tested with simple linear regression methods have a positive value so it shows that students’ interest in accessing online journal has an effect on improving quality of their articles. Meanwhile, student interest in accessing online journal survey was still minimal, with 42.2% answered that they do not know the existence of the academic journals. However, 98% of students answered that the internet is a primary need. Unfortunately, the internet, as a tool to access online journals, is mostly used to find entertainment contents with a percentage of 56%. This value is obtained from the average access to the internet; 38% in between 1-3 hours, 30.4% in between 4-6 hours, 22.8% in between 7-10 hours, 4.8% in between 11-13%, ad 4% in > 14 hours. Keywords: Online academic journals, student interest, and survey.

Abstract

This article attempts to identify the role of communities in transforming economics in the digital age. A case study approach was selected in Yogyakarta City to understand the changing roles of local people in technological advancements. The findings of this research illustrate that the government initiative program, known as “Gage” (Gandeng-Gendong), has evolved into a new space of mediatization for developing entrepreneurial activities through a digital platform. The stakeholder initiation also contributes to the solidity of community bonding by engaging local businesses in developing the incubator entrepreneur, leading to more effective product adaptation to meet consumer needs. It is important that the involvement of three key stakeholder roles, such as Academicians, Businesses, and Government (ABG), be actively integrated into developing digital platform users. This study has evaluated the conflict between human roles and technological advancements. If our understanding of human beings fails to adapt to digital media and illiteracy persists, it could lead to alienation. However, effectively managing enterprise platforms through e-commerce and collaborative pathways can be viewed as a new asset in fostering community development on a larger scale.

Abstract

Kiai is highlighted as a difficult (to reach) figure because of social class classification that lives in the public consciousness. Despite the kiai is considered to have a high social class, this does not make the kiai forget its social role. In this case, it can be referredto Kiai Najib Salimi as the founder of the Luqmaniyah pesantren. This paper aims to explore the contribution of Kiai Najib Salimi in community development and the factors behind it based on prophetic values. The study employed a qualitative method with a biographical approach. Data were collected via document searches, interviews, and observations. It was revealed that the Kiai had transformed into founders pesantren and developed into changes makers, social planners, and social facilitators. The contribution of Kiai Najib Salimi was exposed in the establisment of Luqmaniyah pesantren, Micro-finance (Koperasi) Kodesmata, Ngrowot fasting, and the Syuri’ah of Nahdlatul Ulama in Yogyakarta City. This paper also features that the impetus for taking empowerment is personal factors, family, educational pesantren, and social environment. In fact, the contribution made by Kiai Najib Salimi holds ethical values in the practice of community empowerment. This finding, by implication, requires only further action that prophetic values are not based on ethical concepts, but must contribute practically to social life.

Abstract

This article seeks social protection for people with homeless problems under Indonesian regional policies. My observation demonstrates although the social policies changed that help us comprehend homelessness concerns containing identification issues, urban bias, poverty validation, the cycle of change, quality of life, and prosecution, an identification issue on homeless remains a dilemma. Social policies should create integrated systems as the most important in urban alleviating poverty, social protection and empowerment, and referral mechanisms. Norms and principles of human dignity must provide to people who are trapped social vulnerable, while social protection should be combined between public and government support. Keywords Social Policy, Protecting Homeless Issues, Local Shelters, Urban Bias, Standard of Poverty Validation.
