Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the correlation between parental attachment and prosocial behavior in adolescents. This research was conducted on 118 adolescents in the Gubeng District, Surabaya City. Data collection techniques using a research scale that is shared online. There are two scales used in this study, namely the attachment scale and the prosocial behavior scale. The data from this study were calculated with the help of SPSS version 25.0 for windows using the Spearman's rho correlation technique. The results of this study indicate a positive and significant relationship so that it can be assumed that the higher the parental attachment, the higher the prosocial behavior possessed by adolescents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan self efficacy dan perceive theacher support dengan academic boredom pada siswa  sekolah dasar  full day school. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa sekolah dasar kelas XI di tiga sekolah full day dengan total sampel sebanyak 131 dengan tehnik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui skala yang disusun sendiri berdasarkan teori  self efficacy yang dikemukakan Bandura (1997), skala perceive theacher support yang dikemukakan Metheny, dkk (2008) dan  academic boredom yang dikemukana oleh Sharp, dkk (2020). Analisis data menggunakan teknik regresi ganda dan korelasi , dapat disimpulkan bahwa hipotesis dalam penelitian ini terbukti,artinya ada hubungan  yang negative dan sangat signifikan antara self efficacy dan perceive theacher support dengan academic boredom  pada siswa di sekolah dasar full day scholl. sumbangan terbesar terhadap variabel dependen academic boredom adalah self efficacy yaitu 30,08% dan perceive theacher support 9,62%, sedangkan secara keseluruhan sumbangan efektif total terhadap variabel academic boredom adalah 39,7%.

Abstract

Screen time anak-anak mengacu pada waktu yang dihabiskan oleh anak dengan piranti berlayar termasuk komputer, tablet, smartphone, televisi atau video game. Banyak penelitian yang menemukan bahwa screen time memiliki dampak buruk pada perkembangan anak usia dini termasuk perkembangan bahasa. Perkembangan bahasa merupakan salah satu bagian perkembangan yang krusial bagi kehidupan anak, mengingat bahasa merupakan media komunikasi penyampaian pesan seseorang terhadap orang lain. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh screen time terhadap perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah A Literature Review untuk mengidentifikasi artikel secara sistematis. Melalui pencarian seperti: Social Science Research, Mendeley Cite, Google Scholar dan Garuda Jurnal dari tahun 2017 hingga 2023, ditemukan 8 artikel sesuai dengan karakteristik yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan adalah 5 dari 8 penelitian didapatkan tidak ada korelasi antara screen time dan perkembangan berbahasa anak namun berpengaruh negatif terhadap perkembangan bahasa anak terutama pada anak yang menggunakan waktu berlayar >2 jam. Dalam penelitian lain menemukan bahwa media sosial YouTube memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan pada pemerolehan bahasa anak khususnya bagi anak speech delay. Banyak juga para orang tua yang memiliki sedikit pemahaman tentang dampak negatif dari pemberian screen time berlebihan pada anak dan pentingnya pendampingan orang tua pada anak ketika memberikan waktu screen time.

Abstract

Higher education aims to help students develop their potential, but graduate students often face challenges such as thesis completion, academic demands, social pressures, and internal obstacles, triggering academic stress. This study examined the relationship between self-management and problem-focused coping with academic stress among 92 professional psychology master's students in Surabaya, using a correlational quantitative method. Data were collected via Likert-scale instruments: the academic stress scale, self-management scale, and problem-focused coping scale. Results revealed a significant negative relationship between self-management and academic stress, indicating that lower self-management abilities correlate with higher academic stress. Similarly, a significant negative relationship was found between problem-focused coping and academic stress, showing that lower coping skills are associated with greater academic pressure. These findings suggest that self-management and problem-focused coping both play crucial roles in managing academic stress among graduate students.

Abstract

This research is designed to examine the interrelationships between work-life balance, role ambiguity, and burnout among Generation Z. It aims to investigate how work-life balance correlates with burnout and how role ambiguity contributes to burnout within this demographic. Burnout is defined as a state of mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion resulting from prolonged work pressure. Work-life balance refers to an individual's capacity to strike a healthy balance between job responsibilities and personal life. Role ambiguity occurs when individuals face uncertainty about their job roles, including tasks, duties, and expectations. The study employs three measurement scales: burnout, work-life balance, and role ambiguity. The sample size, derived using the G-power application, consists of 120 Generation Z workers. Multiple regression analysis was applied to the data. The findings indicate a significant relationship between work-life balance, role ambiguity, and burnout in Generation Z. Specifically, a negative relationship was identified between work-life balance and burnout, where lower work-life balance corresponds to higher burnout, and vice versa. Furthermore, a positive correlation was found between role ambiguity and burnout, with higher levels of role ambiguity being linked to increased burnout levels.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of the digital era has turned social media, especially Instagram, into a crucial source for examining public sentiment on mental health issues such as depression. Depression, a condition that adversely affects thoughts, behaviours, emotions, and overall mental well-being, is often less apparent than physical health problems, leading to delays in treatment. Low public awareness and societal stigma further aggravate these delays, making sufferers hesitant to seek professional help and more inclined to share their experiences online. This study aims to analyze public sentiment on Instagram concerning depression through the Naïve Bayes (NB) method. It involves developing an application that visualizes analysis reports via bar and pie charts, categorizing public comments on depression as neutral, positive, or negative. Data is sourced from Instagram using keywords related to depression and mental health, with lexicon-based methods for labelling and NB for sentiment classification. The findings show the effectiveness of this method, with the accuracy rate reaching 79%. The dataset consists of 1300 comments collected through web crawling. This evaluation displays the performance results of NB achieving an accuracy of 82.55%. The study aims to offer insights into public opinions on depression, provide datasets for future sentiment analysis research, and assess the NB method's effectiveness in managing complex sentiments on social media, ultimately aiming to improve public understanding and strategies for mental health intervention.

Abstract

Reading is an important skill for students when learning activities at school because they have to understand concepts and theories from reading activities. One of the problems about beginning reading difficulties was experienced by MNE, an 8 years old grade 1 elementary school student. MNE has difficulty in reading at first, the client still finds it difficult to distinguish between letters or pronounces letter incorrectly, one of which is the letter b which reads p, g which reads j, f which reads v. MNE still don't know several letters such as the letters w, y, x, and q. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study method to strengthen the diagnosis of MNE based on existing symptoms. The assessments used were observation, interview, intelligence test, and EGRA reading ability test. The intervention using the phonic reading method for 4 sessions in 10 days. The results of the intervention showed an increase in the client’s reading ability to recognize letters well. Client’s motivation to read also increases by trying to read all things that he sees with validation from the people around him

Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based mind mapping in enhancing the creative thinking skills of elementary school students through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Mind mapping, as a creative and interactive learning tool, is combined with AI technology to provide a more engaging and effective learning experience. The literature review findings indicate that integrating AI into mind mapping can enhance students' creativity, comprehension of materials, and engagement in the learning process. Additionally, the study identifies challenges and solutions in implementing this method, including the need for teacher training and the development of relevant learning media. Therefore, AI-based mind mapping holds significant potential for supporting more adaptive and effective educational innovations.
