Abstract

West Sumbawa Regencyis one of the regencies that are rich of natural resources managed by PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara. However, local communities around the gold mine areas have generally to date been poor. This study was aimed to (1) examine the effect of material poverty, physical weakness, isolation, vulnerability, and powerlessness on poverty, and (2) describe the distribution of rural povertybased on land slope mapsin gold mine areas in West Sumbawa Regency.This study applied a survey technique, observation, and structured interviews to collect data. The processing and analysis of data was carried out by a quantitative method using a multiple regression analysis. The results of the study showed that the factors significantly affecting the poverty among rural communities around gold mine areas were material poverty, physical weakness, isolation, vulnerability and powerlessness (R2 = 0.715). However, the mostly dominant factor affecting the poverty was powerlessness (t = 19.715). Meanwhile, the distribution of poverty based on topographic sites showed that the poverty occurred in villages with plain topography (Goa Village), terrain topography (Maluk Village), wave topography (Belo Village), and hilly topography (Sekongkang Bawah Village). The poverties occurred in all the villages were mostly affected by powerlessness with t values of 3.489, 13.921, 11.828, and 6.504, respectively. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh citra destinasi pariwisata halal dalam perspektif fotografi di Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat. Penyajian sebuah foto harus dapat mengkomunikasikan pesan yang efektif agar pesan tersebut dapat menjangkau target wisatawan. Respon wisatawan digunakan untuk mengukur konten sebuah foto destinasi pariwisata halal dari perspektif kebutuhan wisatawan. Respon praktisi fotografi digunakan untuk membuat penyajian foto dengan teknis tertentu kepada wisatawan tentang destinasi yang dikategorikan halal dengan segala kondisi, fasilitas, kehidupan sosial dan pelayanannya. Kedua respon tersebut digunakan untuk mencari foto yang paling sesuai berdasarkan keinginan wisatawan dan ketentuan teknis fotografi untuk kemudian dijadikan standar penciptaan dan penyajian foto untuk memperkuat citra destinasi pariwisata halal. Abstract This research is aimed to get on how the image of the image of “Halal” tourism destinations can be applied properly in photography’s perspective in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Photos, which are shown, must be able to deliver an effective message in order to reach the target tourists. The tourists’ response is needed to measure the content of “Halal” tourism destinations photos from the tourist needs perspective. The photographers’ response is applied to organize the photos exhibit by particular technique to the tourists about destination that is categorized “Halal” with its condition, situation, social life, and service. Both responses are used to determine the most suitable photo based on the tourist needs and the photography technique, which is later referred as the standard of photo creation and exhibition, in order to strengthten the image of “Halal” tourism destinations. . Abstract

Java is a rich island originating from the archipelago, a large country that has various contents in it. Inside Borobudur Temple, there are neatly engraved reliefs, which tell various events or stories about teachings for mankind. One of the reliefs depicts a sailor sailing and the presence of merchandise, one of which is spices. The history of the magnitude of the spice route and with the development of the spice trade, several positions have also emerged regarding the superior spice commodities in each region of the archipelago, including the following; Java, Maluku, Banda Island, and others. To strengthen the spice path in this modern era, various efforts were made, one of which was this research. Using literature study methods and peer discussions, data are produced, including; 1. Maritime History of Java and the Archipelago, Commodities, and Spice Routes; 2. The Influence of Javanese Civilization and the Center of the Nusantara Spice Line; 3. Form of Activities and Strengthening of Spice Pathways in Java; and 4. Javanese spices, dishes, drinks, and other spices. These forms are expected to be able to be a successful step in the revitalization of ancient spice pathways and future progress.Keywords: Java, Spice Line, revitalization, future progress
