Abstract

It has been conducted a geo-electrical resistivity survey at geothermal area of Ie Jue, Aceh Besar.  The survey aims to measure resistivity value in the area. It is expected that the values of resistivity will image the subsurface structure in the area. In addition geological features in the area are shown after we process it. The data acquisition in this study was acquired using a SuperSting R8/IP resistivitymeter and its data processing using EarthImager 2D software to get the image of resistivity pseudosection. The two lines of measurement crossed the surface geothermal manifestation. Each line has 330 m in length, and 56 electrodes with electrode space of 6 m. The result of resistivity pseudosection model interpreted based on geological condition and observation in the area. Resistivity pseudosection model shows the study is water-saturated (64.0 Ωm) to a depth of ±65 m and a highly conductive zone (0.6-3.5 Ωm) with a thickness of 30-50 m. This conductive layers below the embodied surface at a distance of 158-160 m on the IJ-Y1 line and at a range of 130-185 m on the IJ-Y2 line. This conductive zone is indicated as a weak zone where geothermal fluids are transported to the surface. Keywords: Geothermal, Ie Jue, geo-electrical resistivity survey, resistivityREFERENCES          Bennet, J.D., Bridge, D.McC., Cameron, N.., Djunuddin, A., Ghazali, S.A., Jeffrey, D.H., Kartawa, W., Rock, M.N.S., Thomson, S.J., Whandoyo, R., 1981. Abstract

Conventional soil sampling is time consuming and requires meticulous laboratory analysis. Hence, mapping of soil apparent in respect to electrical conductivity (ECa) has been developed to identify areas of contrasting soil properties. Such ECa values are represent measures of soil properties. The sensor system, GF Instrument model CMD-4 were used to analyze soil physical properties. This system consists of three important parts, ECa sensor, data logger and Global Positioning System (DGPS) receiver. This research was aimed to evaluate the relationships between ECa and soil properties as well as the yield of rice (paddy) in paddy’s farming fields. One study site was chosen. The sensor was pulled through a plotted area of 0.25 km2. The distribution map of ECa was developed to identify the contrast of ECa. More than 100 ECa of data points were collected in 3-hour for the large plot. The data was later transferred to a notebook computer for generation of ECa maps using Surfer 11 software. According to the data analyses, field and ECa showed positive correlation. The average values of ECa are significantly different between hilly area and drainage canal area signifying differences in soil structure. Soil ECa could provide a measure of the spatial differences associated with soil physical and chemical properties, which for paddy soil may be a measure of soil suitability for crop growth and its productivity. This sensor can measure the soil ECa through the field quickly for detailed features of the soil and can be operated by just one worker. The ECa map provides some ideas for future soil management

Abstract

The aquifers exploration has been conducted at the western part of Banda Aceh, Indonesia. This research aims to explore the aquifer layer beneath the surface and to obtain the cross-section model of the aquifer. The Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method was applied to investigate the aquifer layer. The VES method worked as the current penetrated into the ground using of two electrodes and the potential response due to its current being measured by another two electrodes. Ten grid points of VES has performed in western part of Krueng Aceh of Banda Aceh using the ARES (Automatic Resistivity Meter). The Res1Dinv and curve matching computer software used in VES data processing and analysis. The result shows the resistivity value of aquifer in Banda Aceh city at the range of 1 – 12 Ωm for freshwater, and 0.1 – 0.6 for brackish water layer. The first aquifer (water table) found at a depth of 0.5 to 2 meters beneath the surface. The 2-meters water table mostly located near the coastal zone or downstream zone of Krueng Aceh basin and shallow depth of 0.5 meters on the upstream. More than one aquifer layers were found beneath the surface, they were separated by aquitard layer consisting of silt to clay layers.

Abstract

Mathematics learning activities would not be separated from the problem of mathematics. The mathematical will be a problems if in solving problem students does not immediately know the answer, but it takes time to think what steps should be taken to resolve the issue. In fact, many students are good at solving mathematical problems often use smart ways beyond of expectations and habits, thereby providing a short and accurate answer. in contrast to the students who have moderate or low mathematical ability, the way that used to solve the problem tend to give answers lengthy and sometimes less accurate, although many low of students math skills who have difficulties to find a way to solve mathematical problems. It showed that, there is a correlation between mathematical abilities of the students with intuition that students use in solving mathematical problems. On the other hand, the gender factor influencing the way to gain knowledge of mathematics. The influence of the gender factor in the process of conceptualization showed that gender may affect the use of intuition in understanding mathematical concepts. The aims of this study is to determine the differences between women's and mens intuition on vocational students who have a high level of mathematical ability, medium and low in mathematical problem solving. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research without the use of statistical analysis. the population is a whole class X SMK 1 Banda Aceh by taking six subjects consisted of 3 male and 3 female subjects at various levels, through learning achievement tests and consultation with subject teachers. Data collected by using a test instrument covering mathematical problem solving ability test and an interview. Based on this research, note that: 1) The differences characteristic between women and men on the subjects intuition in solving mathematical problems by using solving Polya; 2) the differences intuition subjects between men and and women in solving mathematical problems by solving Polya; 3) There are differences intuition on various materials.

Abstract

The ability of mathematical problem solving and communication of high school students is still low, it is one of the main problems in mathematics education. Hence the need for the application of learning that can improve the ability of problem solving and mathematical communication students learning, one application of learning that can improve this ability is the application of learning in jigsaw Cooperative. This study aims to determine the increase in the problem solving and mathematical communication students as a whole or in groups. Another goal that you want to see in this study is to determine whether there is interaction between the application of learning and grouping students to increased problem solving skills and mathematical communication students; and the attitude of students towards learning Jigsaw cooperative. Popolation in this study were all students of class XI of SMAN 1 Bukit Bener Meriah by taking samples of the two classes (class experiment acquire contextual approach to learning and conventional learning gain control class) through purposive sampling of five parallel classes are available. This research is experimental and the instrument used is the type of the test (about problem solving and communication) and non-test (student attitude scale). Collecting data using test instruments such as problem solving and communication abilities as well as the mathematical scale questionnaire students' attitudes toward the implementation of cooperative learning jigsaw. To see the differences between the students' increased ability experimental group with the control group used the t-test with a significance level of 0.05 after testing prerequisites are met. The results showed that an increase in problem-solving and communication abilities of students receiving mathematical cooperative learning jigsaw better than students who received conventional learning. There is no interaction between the application of learning and ability grouping of students to an increase in mathematical problem solving and communication students. Based on the analysis of the student attitude scale showed a positive attitude towards learning with a contextual approach.
