Abstract

Kata Kunci: Setting ; Teritori ;Aktivitas; Ruang; Pedagang kaki Lima ABSTRACT The high public need for the informal sector in public spaces makes its existence still sought after by the community. This is actually with the existence of street vendors in public spaces that cause two different perceptions such as profitable or detrimental. This happened to the Godean main market which is one of the traditional markets located in the Sleman Regency area. Having the original condition of the outdoor space of the market does not have a special area for street vendors as a place to trade. It can be seen that many actors from the surrounding community or outside fill open spaces or outdoor spaces as business activities and various kinds of sales. This condition can be said to be unplanned according to the floor plan description or as a function provision which is not planned in the initial design as stated in the DED drawing. With the emergence of street vendor activities, on the one hand, it has the function of improving the economy of the surrounding community. But on the other hand, it can also have a bad impact if there is no management and proper management. Because it can potentially have an adverse impact on the setting of open outdoor spaces if street vendors are not regulated or arranged. This study is expected to find out what factors can affect the territorial setting of street vendors in the outer space of the Godean market. This research method is a research based on a rationalistic approach and with qualitative data carried out, namely by field observation methods, interviews with actors of activities at the location and behavior mapping using sketches and identification directly in the field. Hasli this study knows the main forming factors of the territorial setting of street vendors in open spaces outside the Godean market can be influenced by the presence of spatial elements on the setting of the territory pattern. From this, it can affect the distribution pattern of the physical setting of the territory to the distribution, namely 6 areas with different territorial settings. Abstract

Bamboo has been used for a long time as a material for simple to complex structures. Many advantages of bamboo as a building material makes it suitable for buildings in disaster-prone areas. Bamboo is however prone to humidity, which could cause fungi and moss to emerge and endanger the building structure. Pedestal foundation made of concrete or stone is often used to reduce this risk as for its action as a barrier of direct contact between soil and bamboo. Nevertheless, water from damp soil or rainwater can still penetrate the foundation by capillary transmission through the foundation’s pores. This research proposed a hollow pedestal foundation model with larger pores and compared its ability to reduce moisture on bamboo columns to an ordinary pedestal foundation. The case study is a temporary post-disaster housing project of 13 houses in Muntilan, Central Java, Indonesia, which was built on an active rice field. Visual examination showed that after 5 years of occupancy, bamboo houses built on hollow pedestal foundations still firmly stood without apparent attacks of fungi or overgrowing mold, whereas the moisture measurement showed that the usage of hollow pedestal foundation could reduce the humidity level in the bamboo column almost twice as fast compared to solid pedestal foundation.

Abstract

Daylighting is a crucial element in workspace design, especially in architecture studios. Proper lighting not only improves productivity and comfort, but also has an impact on the health and visual well-being of space users. This research aims to evaluate the intensity of natural lighting entering the space to ensure that the lighting levels meet the visual comfort standards of the space users. This research method uses Sketchup, Rhino 7 and Grasshopper software simulations to see the distribution of incoming light in the architecture studio space by using the EPW coordinate geolocation of Yogyakarta and time to control natural light from east to west. The variables used in this evaluation are incoming light distribution, window size (WWR), wall material and color. The results of this study show that daylighting plays an important role in creating visual comfort in architectural studio workspaces, with the right lighting intensity of 350 - 750 lux based on Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) standards, thus having a positive impact on the visual well-being of studio space users. In addition, daylighting can provide a good strategy in improving the quality of architectural studio workspaces and directly contribute to improved performance and creativity. The benefits of this research evaluate daylighting on visual comfort in order to increase productivity at work, so that daylighting can be utilized as much as possible, and have a positive impact on the well-being of studio space users.

Abstract

The implementation of therapeutic architectural elements within therapy rooms must be conducted appropriately, necessitating thorough evaluation to ensure alignment with established design standards and recommended criteria. The key architectural elements observed in this study include openings, color schemes, natural lighting, and material selection. The objective of this research is to examine the characteristics of therapeutic architectural elements at the National Narcotics Board (BNN) Lido, recognized as one of the largest rehabilitation centers in Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through direct observation in rehabilitation therapy spaces. The aim is to describe the existing conditions of therapeutic architectural elements applied in both counseling rooms and group therapy rooms. Findings indicate that, in general, the therapeutic architectural elements in counseling rooms do not fully comply with several recommended design standards. For instance, the dimensions of window openings, indoor temperature, and levels of natural light illumination fall short of the prescribed benchmarks. Conversely, the therapeutic architectural elements in group therapy rooms largely conform to the recommended design standards and criteria.
