Abstract

Abstract. This research is aimed to maintain the inventory level in a two-echelon pharmacy company. The company is a pharmacy company that has 16 branches that operate in Bandung and the surrounding area. The company has a problem with its high inventory cost. To solve the problem, the authors compare two methods that suit the company condition, i.e., the decentralized system using probabilistic EOQ model and the centralization system using the multi-echelon inventory technique. We analyzed sales data and on-hand inventory data acquired from the company information system to perform the study. We limit the scope to the class A items only. We also assume the lead time, setup cost, and holding cost used in this study with the company's owner's consent. To conclude, using the decentralized system, the company will save 31% of their inventory cost, while using the centralization system with the multi-echelon technique, the company will be able to save 61% of their inventory cost. We recommend the company to refer to its competitive strategy before deciding which model it would be implemented. Abstract

Abstract. Medical digitization has advanced in developing countries, improving work efficiency. Teletherapy has emerged from this advancement. Nevertheless, teletherapy has encountered obstacles, such as software and hardware issues. Problems arose from technological factors such as slow connectivity, inadequate hardware specs, and poor audiovisual. This study aims to examine the technical issues related to teletherapy for children with developmental delays. By implementing descriptive statistical approaches with 43 participants, we found that patients struggled to be involved in teletherapy, resulting in the need for special guidance in the process. Therapists felt their clients' places were extremely crowded, and the low video quality of their devices hampered their ability to conduct optimal observations. Patients had a higher level of satisfaction and interest than therapists, meaning the patients would likely continue to be involved in the future. We also came up with another finding indicating that confidentiality has not become a major concern since building an intimate therapeutic relationship and learning to operate technology are still top priorities. Henceforth, implementing teletherapy would need a solid strategy in the future. Keywords: Children, digitization, technical issues, teletherapy, therapists Abstrak.

Abstract

The toy market is experiencing steady growth, with a notable shift towards educational options that blend entertainment with learning. Recently, there has been an increased emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills. Despite this market expansion, the educational toy sector, particularly in Indonesia, is still emerging, with low adoption rates for STEM toys. Safeur aims to address the needs of millennial parents by creating STEM toys that combine construction sets with educational value. Following various stages of development, Safeur launched its product in February 2024. However, despite extensive promotion and a strong online presence, initial sales were limited to only five units, indicating a potential mismatch between the product's features and market demands based on customer feedback. This research investigates customer needs and preferences for educational toys and identifies the features that should be incorporated into Safeur's educational toy sets using the House of Quality framework. A qualitative approach involves interviews with Safeur's customers and customer personas. The interview results are analyzed using the House of Quality framework to guide the development of new educational toys for Safeur. The findings emphasize the importance of incorporating interactive learning features, enhancing visual appeal, and ensuring effective information delivery. These insights are expected to inform strategic product development and better align Safeur's offerings with market needs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesian Law No.3/2014 regarding Industry requires both Central and Local Governments to realize the competitiveness of small and medium industries. However, the fact that the condition of each region is not similar becomes a main problem. It is because Indonesia is an archipelagic country. The competitiveness index of Asia Competitiveness Institute 2015 indicates that islands provinces, such as Kepulauan Bangka Belitung, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Sulawesi Utara, Maluku, Maluku Utara, Sulawesi Tenggara, need specific development strategies. They cannot be equated with the mainlands, such as Java and Sumatera, because their competitiveness rank is very low. A review of literature on the competitiveness of islands entrepreneurs shows that from the 4 (four) schools of thought in competitive advantage, only few researchers have pertained on the knowledge based on the schools of thought. Therefore, this could be a future research opportunity.

Abstract

This conceptual study employs a Critical Realist approach with context-mechanism-outcome (CMO) logic to examine how boundary objects facilitate design-led innovation through dynamic capability development. It is conceptually framed by boundary object theory and dynamic capability theory. This study develops a conceptual framework linking different types of boundary objects to key dynamic capabilities (sensing, seizing, reconfiguring) and posits that these shared artefacts and processes act as generative mechanisms driving innovation outcomes across diverse contexts. This CMO-based perspective provides a nuanced explanation of how specific contexts activate these mechanisms to shape innovation results. The primary contribution of this study is a set of theoretical propositions delineating how various boundary objects serve as generative mechanisms in design-led innovation. This bridges boundary object theory with dynamic capability theory and enriches our understanding of cross-boundary knowledge integration and organizational adaptability.

Abstract

Customer reviews significantly influence hotel reputation and service improvement, but the large volume and unstructured nature make manual analysis inefficient. This study compares Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM) for sentiment classification of 898 Indonesian-language hotel reviews from two online travel agencies, aiming to support service optimization in Central Bangka Regency. Reviews were preprocessed through cleaning, case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming, then converted into TF-IDF vectors. Both models performed well: SVM achieved the highest accuracy, precision, and F1-score, while Naive Bayes had the highest recall. This indicates that Naive Bayes is better at detecting more positive reviews, whereas SVM provides more precise and balanced classifications. The findings confirm the applicability of classical machine learning for hotel sentiment analysis and offer a basis for implementing real-time review monitoring systems in the hospitality sector.

Abstract

This research investigates the implementation of the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model to enhance inventory management practices at Restaurant XYZ. The primary objective of the study is to determine the efficacy of the EOQ model in optimizing the supply chain and reducing overall inventory costs within the dynamic environment of the restaurant industry. Given the challenges posed by the perishable nature of many food items and the fluctuating customer demand, the research adapts the traditional EOQ framework to suit both perishable and non-perishable items, aiming to achieve a balance between minimizing stockouts and reducing excess inventory. The study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing historical sales and inventory data from Restaurant XYZ to calculate the optimal order quantities and compare them with existing inventory practices. The findings demonstrate that the EOQ model, when adjusted for specific industry variables such as spoilage rates and demand variability, significantly improves inventory turnover and reduces wastage. The implications of these results suggest that the EOQ model, with specific modifications, can be a valuable tool for improving financial efficiency and operational effectiveness in restaurants. This study contributes to the field by providing a tailored EOQ application strategy that enhances inventory management in the restaurant industry.

Abstract

Wellness is a fundamental aspect that every human must achieve to become substantially human. The wellness industry itself, predicted to grow significantly for the next few years. Sadly, many people, particularly millennial workers, are unaware of wellness, including their own. Many millennial workers suffer from stress, sadness and anxiety. This is made even more worse by post-COVID-19 conditions that force workers to work from home, making it increasingly difficult for them to be able to separate their professional and personal lives. To solve the problem, Mealth is present by bringing programs and activities that aim to spread awareness about wellness itself and also implementing wellness into their lives. However, wellness itself has eight dimensions and Mealth has only adapted a few programs related to one of those dimensions. The aim of this study is to establish a new program so that Mealth can develop its program into other wellness dimensions according to customer preferences using the House of Quality framework. This study will use a qualitative approach, by selecting the informant sampling from Mealth customers and wellness enthusiasts through a semi-structured interview method. The result of the interview will be analyzed using the House of Quality framework as a tool to develop new Mealth services. This research finds that the new program that Mealth want to develop is related into three aspects, which is sport community partnership, environmental workshop & education, and creativity & new skill workshop.
